    After 6 years in law enforcement, I think I'm going to get into a similar business. I grew up on a ranch and ran tractors, skids, and excavators a lot. I'm so tired of law enforcement, I really am. It's making my life miserable, and I hate going to work everyday.

      Then get as much money together as you can and either finance a nice machine or start with a cheap machine. I would defiantly say skip the cheap machine and get a nice one and a nice Mulcher and trailer and truck and start working. You can offer other services besides mulching

    What city are near? I'm very close to purchasing my 1st skid steer with a 20 foot trailer. The trailer is rated at 14,000 lbs. I am looking for a truck. I'm nervous about purchase this large. I enjoyed both of your videos and I wish you much success. I live in Atlanta.

    Watched the two videos you have posted. Very good information. Looking into getting into this type of business in the next few years. Love doing work with skid steers and mulching type work. I work for a big company that maintains power line right of ways and love it. I run the big trimmers. Ran a klearway 500 with a big 10 foot mulcher some also. Started out in a tl12v2 with a FAE drum mulcher and worked my way up to the trimmer. Hope to see some mor videos you may post in the future.

    I have been farming hay for a few years with a buddy of mine. I have an old new Holland ls180 skid steer. Going the the thought process of maybe starting a business reclaiming fields that have been left unattended for a while. Stuff that has gotten to big for a tractor and brush hog. I have a dodge diesel with a 6sp paid for. Wanting to trade in my skid steer, sell an extra car, nice tri-z 3 wheeler. Just some things to put money on my pocket. Using assets to get the money to put up for equipment instead of going so deep in debt. Wondering what would be adequate for a skid steer and type of mulcher or cutter. A lot of munchers are 30k and I don’t have those kinds of funds. Ive been working for an excavation company since covid killed my last job. Thinking of working weekends clearing farms around me to see if this is a possibility and if I can grow from that. Any advice would be great. Nice video.

    That's what's up. I'm still going through the thought process. Would like to get a skid steer and mulching, and grapple set up. We'll see what the future will bring.

    Great video brother! Love that you take pride in your work and are willing to show others how it’s done! You live within your means and took some older equipment and made it super nice and keep it nice! Customers look at that when you roll up for sure and it makes a great first impression! Keep it up man you are a great example!

    Excellent heartfelt, straight forward video. Edit this down to about a minute or two, add some video of you running the cat, some video of you and your customers for “live” testimonials( nothing slick, just like you did this with your phone), put it on Facebook and direct everyone you know to it and you will be swamped with business. Your ability to effectively communicate and your honesty and desire to do good work will come through loud and clear to any prospective client that sees it. Unless that service body is fully used, replace it with a flatbed dump with both short and tall sideboards and you will be way more productive and make way more money with that rig. A one ton dump is one of the most underrated and over looked setups in excavating. Everybody thinks you need a 10-12 yard dump and sometimes you do, but a one ton gets in and out of tight spots, less capital expense, less maintenance, etc. Best of luck and success to you and your family.

    Good talk man. I’m from Florida and I purchased a skid steer, trailer, and truck. I have a similar setup to yours. How do you charge a person who needs land cleared? Not trees but just lots of thick heavy brush.

    • @e.stephensexcavatingllc3285
      @e.stephensexcavatingllc3285 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are just getting started there is nothing wrong with charging by the hour. I have a 4 hr 6hr and 8hr minimum plus mileage.
