Salt is a natural preservative. So salt will slow down or even stop the decaying process. So if your only option to dispose of shrimp/crab/crawfish remains is the garbage can, this is for you!!

This is a mid-side example. It's easy and delivers a nice stereo image that doesn't present any phase issues if played in mono. The chain is the guitar, WA87R2 and WA47, A-Designs Pacifica mic preamp, A Designs Hammer EQ, Chameleon Labs 7802 optical compressor, and into an RME UFX

Wow excellent
Great job, Brae!!! ♥️🎶♥️
You guys are GREAT! One of my all time favorites. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas to you guys!
Kudos… that’s fiya. Great Job Richard and P
Awesome 👏
If you're looking for a Neumann primarily for VOCALS, the TLM49 is only a few hundred more dollars (maybe even closer on the used market), and it's got a way more vocal tailored frequency response, much smoother and less brittle. Still has a nice sweetness to the top end, but not the harshest ones. It's technically borrowing a little more from an M49, albeit tubeless. It has a very nice capsule that's the same one used in some of Neumann's extremely expensive tube mics.
That is extremely great Grand Dad
Such Talent !!
Man, the musical genetics run deep with you 2!!! So proud to call you family!!! Keep it going, guys!!! We're counting on you!!! Bravo!
This is good guys
I’m guessing the reason it’s not your first choice for vocal mic is because you’ve got a lower sounding voice? I liked it right away for my own vocals because it helps to round out my higher mids
@@jimmyjamesc As I’ve said before it can absolutely be used for vocals and with great success! It just requires more work for me than a couple of other mics I use.
Hey man. You should put out more vids. This channel could be huge. You have an awesome laid back way of presenting.
Performance: 5 Stars Songwriting: 3 Stars
Good review
🌈 yeah 💚🌱🦋
I really like my fc357 too. Many times its the perfect vocal mic choice.
Awesome performance!!
What preamp do you use with tlm103 mic? 😊
My fave is the Universal Audio LA610!
Wow. Thanks.
Fantastic, down to earth interview!
Could barely hear your voice Chief but holy moley does that mic configuration sound nice!!
Yeah. I could’ve done a better gig on my voice presentation and yes the mic configuration works. Thanks for watching.
I’d love to mod my microphone also! This is a good video, can you tell me what brand did you use for the 6072a tube swap?
I tried a couple of NOS tubes over the years but can’t say the new production tubes are bad either.
@@sacalaitproductions7279 ok which manufacturer tube do you have in it when you made this video?
One of these came through my thrift store! Just need to make sure its in full working order. What would you recommend to test it out properly? I'm completely new to XLR Microphones.
an xlr cable man! Nice find!!
Is it true that this mic needs a tube preamp to be useable?
No. I use a combo of mic pres at different times with this mic. The LA610, which is a tube preamp, has the perfect high shelving eq to tame a bit of the high-end response of the mic but if it's a reasonably good mic preamp you'll get excellent results with the mic.
It is an impressive mic. Just wish it wasn't so big, bulky, and heavy.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Was very helpful to me.
20 years and your using a warm audio to test sound quality of neuman. You just lowered the sound quality.
YMMV
It's ok to recording a double bass with a WA-47?
I'd say yes.
Nice ! Pro Review, Thanks !
If i may ask(and you might have touched on it) what are some symptoms of the sound that lets you know when the tube needs changing?
I believe the first time I changed the tube was for an "upgrade" to a NOS tube. After that, I could tell by the noise the mic made. It's a relatively inexpensive mic but they're doing it right. I still use it a lot!
@sacalaitproductions7279 is it a high-frequency almost spikey sound? I ask because I stored mine as a result with the intention of replacing the capsule. Just never thought it may be the tube!
Great review, thank you! What's your take on the tlm 107? Is it better than the 103 or just different?
I don't own a 107 but I'd believe it's a worthy microphone. Neumann is a stellar microphone company. Thanks for watching!
20 year user look like talkin shit. Lie on lie it;s bullshit not real speech.
This is incredible. Thank you! Super informative
Hello. Thank you for all the informations. The TLM103 was not on my taste for me as well. For this reason I've changed it with Gefell M71s and the Gefell M930ts. Same Neumann = Gefell german quality but much better frequency response. And not a big difference in price these ones and TLM103.
Now THAT'S A HIT!!! if I ever heard one... EXCELLENT message and production guys!
Not only is Ken Wells an excellent author he's a real good song writer also! And his brother did an excellent job singing it!❤❤
Loved it!
Nice ambience.
This IS nice! Thanks for visiting!
I'm admitting I was absolutely wrong about the screw thing on the build quality. It's almost a copy of a U47. So I kinda throw out the build quality as a down point. I do wish the finish were flatter on the headbasket.
What was the processing you ended up doing to this mic in the song?
There's some de-essing, compression, light eq, and reverb. I like the TLM103 when it's used away from a vocalist. Just my preference but I think it generally works best that way. The proximity effect is pretty dramatic with this mic so one can absolutely get their Barry White on with it. I'd use that as an effect. Thanks for listening.
You can't go wrong with Neumann microphones, they just sound amazing.
Awesome job doing a beautiful song!!
Nice review. The only thing I wanted to comment on was, where you said, "less hyped in the heights are better because you can add later" I feel like it's better to cut a hyped high then boost later. Boosting always raises the noise floor and you will really hear the noise in the highs if you boost them. This is what's nice about the TLM 107, it's got plenty of highs and rich mids, but you can always cut the highs and then you are lowering the noise at the same time. This FC 357 does sound amazing in all the recordings I've heard from sweetwater so far.
That part could be subjective. The point I was trying to make is I’d rather have a flatter- not hyped- high frequency response in a microphone. The TLM103 against this mic is an example. But there’s no wrong way! Just more efficient and you also make that point. Thanks for your response.
Hey there, What heavy duty stand are you using....noticed it in your TLM 103 video.

Can you help with mixing with outboard gear?
The clip is the biggest problem with this mic.
It IS a problem! I'm very careful with them!
