Very brief description of the electrics. A brief Explanation of what has been used and how it works. I will probably do a more detailed video when I get the LEDs and the top deck back from my friend who is fitting them. I will also post a video shortly of the boat on the water as it is. Any questions, just ask.

Sorry about the quality but I was trying to control the boat at the same time as film with my iPad. Going to do a full break down of the construction of the boat soon.

    This looks decent, how much did this project cost in total as with cost of some of the boats on the market it’s looking like I will never be able to afford one and diy will be my only option

    Hello, do you have any documents of this build or some instructions that i can follow to make this fishing boat

      Hi If you check out my other videos there is one that explains the electric set up 👍

    Hi how did you solve the direction and reverse? I am discouraged from using 2 engines, because I will not be able to maneuver the boat

    • @stix7796
      @stix7796 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s set up as tank steer which means it can turn on a sixpence. I ended up taking the mixer unit out and changing my transmitter to the Turnigy FSi6 which allows you to do vtail mixes which really helps

    Hi stix 77 I have pretty much done my boat the same as you I have the mr ex world mixer but it hardly moves nothing like your boat did you have to adjust the end points or anything ? Having massive problems with this any help would be great 👍?

    • @stix7796
      @stix7796 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Harry H Gaming hi harry, there are a couple of things you can do. It might be as simple as removing one of the plugs on the mixer unit and resetting it as per the instructions that come with the mixer unit. Since this vid I actually changed out my Transmitter in the end and bought the Turnigy TGY I6 which allows you to do v-tail mixes which once you get you head round it makes it much simpler

    Good explanation and video. How long bateries last, i'm building my second boat, will be with 2 540motors and 580mm long, i have not deside what bateries to get.

    • @stix7796
      @stix7796 ปีที่แล้ว

      The batteries last really well but it obviously depends on how far you are sending the boat out etc. but the 7ah batteries that I use are spot on for me.

    Hi, i'm currently making a bait boat. What does yours weigh. What size is the outlet on the impeller jet? do you have a link for them? thanks

    • @stix7796
      @stix7796 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Neil Powell - hi Neil. If you search for NQD Impeller jet on eBay you should find loads of them. I changed the motors on mine as there wasn’t much info available on the ones that came with it. Sorry, I don’t know the weight of the boat as I haven’t weighed it.

    How do you reverse the boat?

  • @daleboats2gopilkington108
    @daleboats2gopilkington108 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you reverse the boat at all with the impellor jets fitted.

  • @daleboats2gopilkington108
    @daleboats2gopilkington108 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do those jet motors give any rev thrust at all?

    • @stix7796

      Dale Boats 2 go Pilkington. Sorry Dale. I don’t understand what you mean.

    • @daleboats2gopilkington108
      @daleboats2gopilkington108 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      can you reverse the boat with the impellors fitted or is it just forwards.ive just ordered some for my boat project.was hoping I didn't have to buy an extra one for reverse

    • @stix7796
      @stix7796 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do get a small amount of reverse thrust but not a massive amount. However it is set up with tank style steering which means it can turn on a sixpence

    How did u set up the mixer?

    • @stix7796
      @stix7796 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      les cooke the mixer was set up with pins 1 and 4 covered if that makes sense. So none of pins are joined. One of the leads went into Ch 2 and the other into ch4. I can’t remember which. The leads were then connected to the esc’s. Remember to remove one of the positive (red) cables from one of the esc’s as you don’t want both batteries powering the receiver. Hope this helps.

  • @farnz81
    @farnz81 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just bought myself a nice new hull for £50. Your first video helped me seeing how simple but effective your set up was. Can't wait to get mine up and running. £250 mine will cost all in all

    • @stix7796
      @stix7796 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      George B hi George, unfortunately the boat is all finished and sealed so I can't so the mechanism. It was simple though and it uses a throw switch in the transmitter to move a servo that releases the hopper and gravity does the rest. Hope this helps.

    • @stix7796

      Richard Antill I bought the hull from someone that had made it as a prototype. It was very rough and ready but it did the job.

    • @stix7796
      @stix7796 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dave Legard Hi Dave, no I use both sticks. One is for forwards and reverse and one for left and reverse. Hope this helps.

      Keolin Moodley hi. I didn't make the hull. I bought it off eBay. It was a prototype hull that they had made from fibreglass and only cost about £30.

    Hi Gerry, thanks for the question. In total it cost me just over £200. The benefit being that I didn't have to splash out all at once and seen as I built it, I also know how to fix it if anything goes wrong.
