Here you will find helpful videos on landscape irrigation. Videos from making antenna cables to how to set up central controls.
Christmas Tree Stand
A DYI Christmas tree stand project. When you buy the wrong tree stand and then cut down the tree in the front yard you need a quick fix and this was mine. Rope, a bucket and a 2 x 4 to make a quick tree stand. A fun little project and supports our 9 foot tree no problem. I hope you enjoy the video.

Great video.
Great to meet you at the IA Show today, glad you got to see the test bench you inspired me to make!
@AlejandroAste-Nieto It was great to meet you too. How fun to see folks getting to interact with the troubleshooting products like your mA clamp meter!
Excellent Video ... and worth dropping the link to any new Irrigation tech starting out on 2 wire systems. How about a similar fault test on 24vac analogue ... Common and fault checking and wire fault locating.
Good video. I would like to comment on the wire itself, not your methods of testing. In my experience, the twist in the wires and the sheath that surrounds the wire, especially with hunter brand, are engineered and should not be undone or separated because it changes the resistance. 2 wire needs to be viewed as data cable and should not be manipulated.
Great comment on wire. Hunter ID wire is a twisted pair and is required by the manufacturer (Hunter) to allow for proper communications. Most other brands of two wire use parallel communcation wire. There are general tin coated copper wire. See Paige 7072D two wire cable.
Awesome video! Care to share how you made your trouble shooting setup?
thanks for making the best video , that help me troubleshoot short circuit , wire broken and grounded, which are the mains issues in most 2 wire system
Pretty simple thanks for the info.
Thanks for everything you do
If I disconnect my decoder from my 3 valves, what impact does it have on the operation of the central controller?
If a valve is not connected to a decoder on a decoder based controller the valve will not be able to turn on. In event that a solenoid is wired directly to the two wire path you will get a short.
Thank you for videos like this. I've been out of irrigation for 10 years and now I'm back in and all this 2 wire stuff is new to me
Now do looped 2 wire. Good basic troubleshooting video.
Fun to try to diagnose. Lol
Break the loop!
I would love to see a video on using the clamp VOM to find a bad splice (high resistance) in a closed-loop hidden dog fence. A dog fence starts out as two wires at the wall-mounted transmitter but splits into a loop after exiting the garage wall. I can track down a bad splice using a standard VOM by dividing the yard in half, then quarter, then eighth, etc..., I can find a clean cut or break with a line tracing tool and toner. Easy job. But the bad splices make me pull out my hair. Can you show how to do this?
Hi. I have over curent . in the timer both cables are 245.8. At valve 9 the number both cables are 09.08 samething like that
Way to go irrigation guy. Looks like that’ll hold it through the season
Thanks it was a fun little project the took care of a real need. Its amazing what you can do with stuff that's just laying around.
great material, could you make a video wiring from the transformer all the way dawn to the INT board?
Very good content. Irrigation ninja!
Thanks. Let me know what other content you would like in future videos
Very helpful, Irrigation Guy! Keep em coming!
Thanks, will do!
Nice Job, Irrigation Guy!
Thank you! Cheers!
Great stuff! Looking forward to seeing more
Thanks. More to come!
