new sub here 🥳 , I will save your video for reference. I'm in school for my class A with manual trans.
With those arms/ biceps it looks as if you can detach the trailer from the 5th wheel by hand....
Thank You
Your welcome!
There's no space between the apron and fifth wheel
Great stuff. Confusion on just what the skid plate was.
Thanks brother. The skid plate is what the floor of the trailer(apron) is setting on.
Thanks for short and direct tutorial video keep the great work
Great Video sweet short and to the point.
what rust ... how does it allow him to drive on the road?
Can I do the incab once I have finished the outside meaning the engine compartment, suspension couple etc? Or does the incab come first?
Hi Sawat. The examiner will tell you which area's they want you to inspect on the outside, then after you check the operation of the lights, you will do the In-Cab. So the In-cab is last.
CDL Services thank you. For the lights do they stand outside while I’m in the cab or do I have to tell them once we are in the cab? And I think in Colorado they make you do the whole truck, not just some of it like other states.
Sawat Yes, I would definitely prepare yourself to be able to inspect the entire truck. As far as the lights go, you’ll have to talk about the condition of each light as you go around the truck on the outside and then you can ask the examiner to help you with the inspection of the operation of each light. The examiner will stand outside while you call them out individually. Hope that helps, good luck with the test.
CDL Services thank you. One last question, for automatic testing, do you chalk the wheels in the beginning or you get inside the truck do the incab safety features then get out and do it?
Sawat, the manual states: “ In areas where an incline is present, you will use wheel chocks during the air brake check.” If you want to use them, just put them in place before you begin the test. Just don’t forget to remove it when you are going to do your park brake and service brake checks. 👍🏽
Does anybody know if this are up to date specifications to Colorado still?
Hello Cesar, this information is accurate but just broken down slightly different from today's requirements. The information in this video is more than what you'll need to do today for the air brake check portion of the vehicle inspection test. The requirements CURRENTLY are as follows: **Step 1. Check for Air Leaks a. Engine off, key to on position (so you get gauges to work) b.Air pressure at governor cut-off (120-ish, depending on the truck) c.Release (push in) BOTH knobs if class 'A' vehicle or release park brake knob if class 'B' vehicles. d.Step on service brake and hold for 1 minute. mention to examiner that you are making sure the air gauge does not drop more than 4 psi for class 'A' vehicle or 3 psi for class 'B' vehicle. **Step 2. Check for Low Air Warning a. Begin rapidly pressing and releasing the service brake. b. Mention to the examiner that you are watching to see when the low air buzzer and/or light comes on, should be somewhere around 60 psi. Tell the examiner when it comes on. **Step 3. Check for Brakes to engage a. Continue rapidly pressing and releasing the service brake. b. Mention to the examiner that you are watching to see when the air brakes engage (knobs pop out), should be somewhere around 20-40 psi. Tell the examiner when it comes on. Make sure you are always telling the examiner what you are doing as you do it. You should be able do this sitting on your couch at home talking your way through and practicing it. Hope that helps.
IMPORTANT NOTE: STEP 1 and STEP 2 in this video are separate checks in addition to the Air Brake Checks. THEY ARE REQUIRED STEPS, BUT THEY ACCOUNT FOR 2 SEPARATE POINTS ON THE TEST.
Thank you sir
I’m shocked you don’t have to mention that there aren’t any bulges in the hoses and that you don’t hear any leaks. I would think CO would be more strict than VA.
Most states adhere to federal regulations regarding the vehicle inspection portion of the CDL Skills Test. This video is a couple of years old and the exact language that should be used during the test has changed slightly. The current (2019) Colorado CDL Manual states the following: “11.2.7 - Tractor/Coupling Air/Electric Lines Listen for air leaks. Check that air hoses and electrical lines are not cut, chafed, spliced, or worn (steel braid should not show through). Make sure air and electrical lines are not tangled, pinched, or dragging against tractor parts. “
VA and MN are 2 of few states that make you go into full detail for pre trips. I’ve heard we are the two hardest states with first time test takers having like 20% pass rates
@@weirdbeardsports9713 I passed the pretrip all 3 times but the parking got me on the first, the driving in the second, and I finally passed the third time. but passed pretrips. I don't even drive, what a waste of time it was. I hated it. wish I had chosen billing and coding. can make way more money in front of a computer.
@@alyssapeters6271 What were the errors that got you on the parking and driving portions?
The solid information
Cdl clase A ! There is a part A,B,C ,in Which of this sections abc , should I add the coupling system?
If you are applying for a Class A CDL you will have to inspect the coupling system no matter what “version” you are asked to do.
@@cdlservices6193 ok but the question is at what time !!!! at the beginning or at the end !!! or the examiner will tell me when I have to! Thanks
Alejandro Castillo The examiner will tell what areas he wants you to inspect. Practice inspecting the entire truck, front to rear, that way you are fully prepared.
@@cdlservices6193 sounds great thanks !!!!!
