Great demonstration on how to cage your Maxi brake chamber. However, this shows the primarily the basics. As a heavy wrecker tow truck operator I would like to add that the only time caging brakes is necessary is when the rubber diaphragm inside your "maxi" brake chamber fails and the chamber will leak air, caging the chamber is only "HALF" of the procedure to safely and effectively cage the chamber. You must also clamp off the air supply line going to the chamber until there is no audible sounds or physical feel of air leaking from the chamber because if you don't you will be losing air at a high volume which will decrease the amount of air in your air tanks and essentially all of your other brakes will start to gradually apply and if you're driving a loaded tractor trailer you won't know the difference because you'll just think it's the load and the weight of the load that is restricting you from gaining speed, when, actually, it's your brakes that are gradually applying and then if your not paying attention to how often your air compressor and air dryer are blowing off, the smell of burning brakes and the smoke you see coming from the wheels you will have a brake fire on your hands, so, make sure you clamp off the supply hose on the brake chamber. You can use a pair of vice grips or a pair of locking hose clamp pliers to do this procedure and get to the nearest truck stop or repair facility to have the chamber replaced. If you have drum brakes and one of your wheels lock up this could be caused from what's called "cammed over" brakes. This happens when your brake shoes are so worn out that the actual shoe rolls over the "S cam" and then your brake shoes are now seized in place and this action cannot be reversed no matter how many times you cage your brake chamber. So when you do your pre-trip inspection and your vehicle has drum brakes you can look at the thickness of the lining on each wheel to see if the brake shoes are worn out and prevent a situation like this while on your run

Usually the truck has 2 of these sensors the one in the mirror is for outside temp that you would see on the dash the one that throws a code for engine is around the front behind the bumper

I am a yard jockey/ switcher atnfedex ground , was ask by a truck to use a strap to hook up to the rear of my truck so i can pull the 5th wheel pin to release the jaws worked like a charm😅

A 1/4 inch is not enough. Pull out from underneath it and let your airbags readjust. Then back up underneath it again. You'll find it'll be a bit too low.

Thank U thank U. Loose terminals was my problem but I was stressing. I had taken my batteries and had them recharged because I had left my lights on and was gone 3 days. I may not had tightened the terminals enough. So after a hour of trying to jump, I remembered U saying check the terminal and I did and they were loose. And boom it started. I bottom the injector out before using the hold down clamp, less chance of oring damage.
