Luke 9:46-48 - Who is the greatest?
In Luke 9:46-48, the disciples argue about who is the greatest, but Jesus challenges their thinking by placing a child beside Him and teaching that true greatness comes through humility and service. In God’s kingdom, those who welcome and care for the least are the greatest. This passage reminds us that following Christ means setting aside pride and seeking to serve others with a heart of humility.

Paul asks who is a real Jew. One by outward appearance or one with a circumcision not done by men? The fact is that the state of Israel as we now know it is not part of the plan of salvation. The Christ has come and those who believe in Him unto salvation shall be saved regardless of genealogy or practice of the law. Silly dispensationalist heretics keep wanting to bring back the state that served its purpose 2000 years ago and thus is now not to be considered of God. God does not deal in nations. He now deals in individuals since Christ is now King and of His Kingdom there shall be no end. We are not to be waiting for a Kingdom that is visible to the human eye for the Kingdom is within. We have Jesus' word on it. Trust Him. Listen to Him. Put foolish Israel worship aside.

We confront sin with the HOPE of The Gospel. Don't stand over a new believer believer/possible believer pounding on their head showing no grace saying- I can't believe you don't know this already! You invite people in lovingly peacefully gracefully kindly. No one person’s theology is perfect. All people are sinners that fall short. We are all going through a sanctification process. This is great!

I like Romans 16: 6 where Paul reminds us to "Greet Mary who has worked /toiled so much among you". Since Mary was present at Pentecost and received the fire of the Holy Spirit and went to live with apostle John and probably followed him to visit in Rome where Peter and Paul also went. Mary was the person chosen by God to bring Jesus to the world, she deserves a friendly hello and thank you.She risked being stoned for pregnancy before marriage, she fled to Egypt to save her infant from Herod, she inspired the first public miracle, she stood under the cross and watched he Son die. You do know that the "Word" is "Yahweh" which is NOT pronounced by religious Jews? John is saying that Jesus is G-d, the Word that they are not allowed to say. The Bible as the inspired word of God, will not exist until the end of the 300's. When Paul says all scripture is useful, he is speaking about the Torah since the Jewish canon for the Old Testament will not be compiled until after the Catholic, Coptic, and Orthodox council compiled theirs. How does a Jewish King treat his mother? 1 Kings 2:19-20. Does Jesus show us that it is OK to converse with the deceased? Yes, at the transfiguration where He speaks to Elijah and Moses with Peter, John, and James as witnesses. Those in Jesus are promised eternal life. They are no longer dead. They are still brothers and sisters in Christ who can pray for us. When you pray the Lord's Prayer, do you say "and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil" If you are a baptised believer, why would that be important for Jesus to teach us to say this? Why would Jesus give the apostles the ability to forgive sins in John 20:23 if people were already baptised and believing Jesus is Lord? Why does Jesus tell His apostles to beware that the devil want to shift you like wheat and Paul says to be careful not to lose their crown...? Why to Bible Alone Christians deny the Holy Spirit in every generation as promised by Jesus Christ? Did the Holy Spiri stop working in 90 AD the approximate time of the last book chosen to belong to the library of inspired works, called the Bible? Do you not care to know how Paul and Peter and the other apostles died and that Onesemose became a bishop, and Clement and Linus became popes after Peter and were martyred, too. Bible Alone was a phrase cooked up by Luther who, like Korah in Numbers, chose to revolt against God's chosen authority. GBY
