I just got back from Antigua 2 weeks ago and I really enjoyed it. I would consider moving there, because it's a safe place not only for myself but also for my kids. I was also shocked to see that everyone there looks exactly like me lol. I enjoyed it so much, I'm visiting again in February.

They call it " over taking". That when you pass someone on the road. I've lived here off and on for ten years. I'm originally from NY. It's a beautiful place. But if you want to move here please do your research. Like everywhere it has problems, some serious. Poor infrastructure is a serious one.the roads are bad just about everywhere. There are frequent power outages. Water can also be a problem if there isn't some form of rain water catchment like a cistern or tank. The internet service is not good. And everything is more expensive because most things are imported. And the mosquitoes are no joke. But if you can deal with some of these things it just may be the place for you.

I know what you mean about colour on houses etc, the cities are like concrete jungles and colourless. I’d really love to live there but I’m now retired and don’t have an income only my pension. You never know I might win the lottery one day and buy myself a little house on Antigua, how wonderful would that be. I cant remember where you said you were going after you go back to the US.? I bet your dog has really missed you? It must be refreshing to know all the police are black and that white police officers won’t pull you over and pull a gun on you. Correction. Carnival in Antigua is the end of July to the first Monday and Tuesday in August, not in February
