Grandma got run over by a Bauer Cordless Belt Sander!
Humorous video of Grandma figuring out the new cordless Bauer Belt Sander. This was captured while collecting video on the new Cabin. We were sanding the reclaimed tongue and groove floor. I was working outside at the time and missed all the excitement.

Logpile Memories
This is a slide show, put to music, of many of the memories we experienced at the Logpile. It was extracted from the middle of my video "The End of an Era Part 2". We had 39 years to spend at the old Logpile. The place was special to 5 generations of the family and friends. Many times the sound of Grandfather's harmonica could be heard from the porch or around the warm stove inside after dinner...
The End of an Era Part 2 Memories
We continue the cleanup at the site of the Logpile and it brings back tons of memories. We do find some things that "survived" the fire. My old hatchet head, an Indian made peace pipe bowl from Pipestone, Minnesota, and a mug with a message from God. It would be easier to just bulldoze everything in a hole but it has actually been fun to dig through the rubble and remember old times. This video...
The End of an Era Part 1
2 days shy of one year ago, our off grid hunting cabin known as The Logpile was destroyed by fire after taking a direct lightning strike. A total loss. It took 5 weeks before someone discovered it was gone. We know the date and time because of pictures taken by a trail cam. We lost 39 years of family journals, taxidermy mounts and memorabilia. There were antique snowshoes, Bear Archery equipmen...
Crusin' with the Classics - Snowmobiles that is!
Had a great ride with some "classic" sleds at the end of the last riding season. It's 195 days until winter and the next season so I decided to take a ride down memory lane and remember what its like. These old sleds did great. I sure am looking forward to being able to ride them again this winter. Hope you enjoy the ride.
5 Vintage Snowmobiles Tested
This a video of the first real ride with the 5 vintage snowmobiles we have been working on. We have a 1969 Ski-doo Olympic 320 "Bubble nose", two 1972 Ski-doo Olympic 335s, a 1971 Skiroule S-340, and a 1971 Skiroule RT-500. There was 4 riders so we hoped to get at least 4 of them running at the same time and ride some of the trails on the Rock Hill vintage snowmobile proving ground. My son hasn...
69 Ski-Doo Olympic gets an Aux Gas Tank
The pre-1970 Ski-Doos had a permanent gas tank in the the chassis which after 54 plus years tends to be filled with rust and other gunk. My first two attempts at cleaning the tank using first a Vinegar soak and flush and secondly an electrolysis treatment failed. I figured I could filter the rest of the suspended rust out with fuel filters but when I only got about 3/4 mile per filter and could...
M38A1 Jeep Update; Mellow Yellow has come a long way this summer!
I haven't been able to keep up with the M38A1 Project Video editing due to unforeseen family demands. All my available time was spent on the project itself. I still hope to add videos on several of the steps of the jeep project, especially the wiring, but I wanted to get out a general update of how far we've come. In summary, the wiring is basically completed, only a few extras left to do. The ...
Wiring Mellow Yellow Part 2: Preparing the JEGS Wire Harness and mounting the Fuse Box/Panel
This is part two of my series on re-wiring the 1952 M38A1 Jeep known as Mellow Yellow. I will prepare the Wire Harness for my application and mount it to an Apache 1800 Weatherproof box from Harbor Freight. That will in turn be mounted on the engine side of the Firewall where it will protect the fuse block but be readily available to work on. At my age I did not want to be trying to crawl aroun...
Rewiring Mellow Yellow Part 1: Does my M38A1 need a new harness?
Working on my 1952 M38A1 which has no headlights lights, no brake lights, no turn signals, no dash lights, pretty much no lights at all. Also the ignition system, charging system and starting system needs to be cleaned up. There is no horn, no working wipers and the existing wiring is old and very brittle, not to mention it was originally for 24 volt. In part one of this wiring series I will be...
BlackMax Wood Splitter
We are on the Jeepfarm, splitting wood with a new BlackMax Electric Wood Splitter. I picked this up on clearance at Walmart for 50% off regular price (cost $150). Thought I would give it a try and this is the first time using it. If found it works pretty well but is slower than gas driven wood splitters I've used in the past. Those gas splitters belonged to other people. I was just borrowing th...
Jeep M38A1 Test Run & Tune Up
My Dad's Old M38A1 Jeep is tuned up and tested at the Jeepfarm proving grounds. This is the first full test run after installing the rebuilt carburetor installed in the last video. This is not a how-to video, there are plenty of these on line already, but it is a video of my family having fun getting Dad's old jeep called Mellow Yellow going again. Hope you enjoy.
Full Process: From Down, Storm Damaged Spruce Tree to Milled Lumber on Woodland Mills HM122
This video shows the whole process from salvaging a storm damaged spruce in our front yard to cutting the log into lumber. Gives a good idea of the total work involved in milling your own lumber. The actual milling with the mill is only a small portion of the total work involved. That said, I find it a satisfying process. It feels good to be active in the outdoors doing physical activity that r...
Jeep M38A1 Rebuilt Carb Replacement
"Mellow Yellow" is the name of this Jeep. it is an M38A1 military jeep built in 1952 and belonged to my father. 3 years ago we got it running again after sitting in the barn for close to 18 years. By running, we mean only in the literal sense. It was very rough and quit completely in the spring of '22. I got a rebuild kit and pulled the carb last summer but it sat on my bench since then as life...
Woodland Mills HM122: Max Diameter Logs with insect damage.
Cutting and learning more about my new Woodland Mills HM122 Sawmill on the Jeepfarm. Logs were recovered from a power line right of way and were cut about 3 years ago so we have some insect damage. This is only the second and third logs I have cut with this machine. At 21 to 23 inches in diameter they really tested the maximum diameter this mill can handle. I am feeling more comfortable with th...
