I remember my parents taking me there when I was a kid in the mid 70's when it was likely the Imperial Palace. Unfortunately I dont remember much detail from the place but do remember it was really cool looking inside and out. Loved all the water features, plants and Tikis. Another popular restaurant from back in the day on Highland Ave was Bings Cathay Inn. It had a large pond in the middle of the restaurant and also had fairly authentic decor. Unfortunately the building doesn't seem to be there anymore. It is now Crest Chevrolet.

That was so cool. Video ideas? How the heck did they make chunk and spaghetti lamps. That spun acrylic is wild. How did they do that? And I love the huge crystal rock look of chunk lamps. They look like Star Trek alien decor. That is always my big curiosity. The lamps.

Gecko is such a cool dude. One of my favorite artists. I feel like I need to start a nonprofit to start efforts to preserve all of this tiki artwork. Some of the big collectors are starting to get old… not talking about Gecko here… lol he still has a few more years, god willing. ;)

Thats about as Tiki as Tiki can get. Take note of the Surfboards all you "Purists"!
