Damn cool
I should you how to make dry ice when my kids took off as a teenager
What's that solve in the nation
I wonder were those bikes are now. He made great custom bikes.
The 1st pic of the "1976 pics " ....the rear tyre burn out one ...... definitely cant be 76 because the road behind him was built over with another road ( bypass) in late 73 early 74 .............i know because i was born and bought up there ( see comment below )......i think this pic is most likely summer 72/73 ......theres new chippings on the road which the local council did ( and still do ) every summer
I was born and grew up in the village of Brightwell-cum-Sotwell England , where Uncle Bunt did his magic, he shared his space with a family of tree surgeons , their name was "Read" .....and his is Reed .....they the Reads were dragster racers , rail cars mainly i think ........many summer evenings during the 70s we would hear them running and revving their drag engines ..........i'm a biker but hand on heart i'm not a fan of choppers (sorry) ............anyway back here 1977 when the very first Star Wars film was released there was a short film/trailer all about Uncle Bunt .....have looked for it but cant find it ...........ps did see one of his choppers at the 75/76 Motorcycle Mechanic show Olympia London .............wasnt impressed
Snake Oil.................
these guys still around
great flash backs ,
Works for me
Great bikes John. I owned the 18" over springer Triumph chop (1976) in 73, it got nicked but was a nice chop. It made way for the HD45 chop I built. Never stopped building since 1969. Great days, great bikes, great scene.
That is what I need... but I´m from Brazil...
EG10L5749 ... got this on a bike I just got . he said it was a 120 ????
maan im still trying to find a way to identify what ultima motor i have
Love this motorcycle.wow, but where are the production motorcycles with partial and fully streamlined bodies? We have one,the expensive, but state of the art Monotracer, thats it,not a single affordable partial streamlined production bike, what are they so afraid of ?Motorcycles are dangerous, period, bodies if anything could make for a safer motorcycle someday. The self appointed experts, say oh we tried it in the 1950's,dustbin fairing's? on 1950's motorcycle technology, increasing the speed by 25 plus mph ? on a 1950's racing motorcycle, that is already on the edge of the available technology, would of been down right scary, tires, chassis, brakes were all at the limit already. Some racer's talk as if we want dustbin fairing to make a comeback,no,not at all.Why would we put dustbin fairings on a 2014 motorcycle ? Time to move forward. All but the lightest motorcycles with the smallest engines, are very inefficient, most midsize to larger motorcycles average 40 - 50 mpg, pretty poor in a 500 lb vehicle with 75 horsepower. We have 3000 lb cars with 100 plus horsepower that do almost the same mpg..Streamlining = more miles per gallon, longer range out of your electric motorcycle.
John lives in Morgan Hill, California, and has for over 20 years… He has a few of his bikes, like Auga and the Gold Yamaha, and one Triumph chopper, among a few later testbeds for Custom Chrome products.
This is the best wind tunnel because they make the best smoke.
where is John Reed today? I painted the Don Bloxidge bike and many other works for John--he's genius.
0:55. coolest part
@Theriomalstrom it's important to see where the air flow get's trapped. usually behind the vehicles some eddies show up that are not good.
what s the name of the machine that you use to make that with smoke?
@Theriomalstrom the smoother the stream is, the more aerdynamic it is, if the stream starts spreading out a lot, there is a lot of wind resistance.
LOVE THOSE KNUCKLEHEADS
@bbglas007 I wondered if he'd ever go underneath. Maybe the clip just doesn't include that?
thats so cool
I wish he would focus more on underneath the bike where the main problems are
@gebregio damn ur 'smart' I envy u! In my country there is a song called "the benefits of beeing stupid". I guess ur maxing them benefits m?
