Question 5: Leisure facilities

At last, question 5, the meeting was running late and this subject certainly did not get the airing it deserved. The benefits were skimmed over due to questions on the centre's position.
North Felixstowe Garden Neighbourhood: Question Four, Infrastructure

Just a short session, we did not cut any pieces out. Mainly centred around school provision with a bit on medical care. It seems roads, transport, and drainage provision are not a matter of concern (?)
North Felixstowe Garden Neighbourhood: Question Three Eastward Ho.
มุมมอง 46หลายเดือนก่อน
What happens to Eastward Ho? A big topic of discussion and, apart from a promise of no houses, no clear answer. What is exactly Eastward Ho, again different people have different ideas. See this record of the event.
USAF Band Attends Martlesham Remembrance Service
มุมมอง 61หลายเดือนก่อน
Martlesham Heath Aviation Society, based at the Control Tower and Museum, annually honours the sacrifice of American Service personnel at the memorial erected on the barrack square. This year the USAF supplied their marching band based at Ramstein in Germany for which we are extremely grateful.
Are these question and answer sessions a tick box exercise?

The second question of the evening was on the topic of, "Are all these information and exchange of views sessions just a waste of time or can we actually change things?"
NFGN QUESTION TIME MEETING AT FELIXSTOWE SCHOOL: QUESTION ONE
มุมมอง 101หลายเดือนก่อน
The first, longest and most searching question checks the validity of the local plan. Was the notification properly done? Can it be modified, slowed or cancelled? The number and type of housing? Is it right to use prime agricultural land? This video lasts 34 minutes and is a worthwhile watch.

Let's remind you of when you said you'd post the raw footage from the q&a (you even said it in a youtube comment for everyone to see). Shall we actually keep to our word?
The video is unedited other than enhanced sound and cropped in for close-ups of those speaking. If there are missing scenes, Mike I believe had to change the camera batteries for a minimal break.
@@orwellpeninsularmatters "after Question 5 is published we will place the raw video on our TH-cam channel". This is a direct quote from what you said. Why are you so hesitant to release the raw video?
Goodbye 😂❤❤
Can we have the full raw footage of the question time debate as you said you would please? It seems the former requests for it to be released fell upon deaf ears because it was on an old video, perhaps you'll look at the comments on this one? Thanks.
Any day would be nice for you to follow up on your former promise on posting the full unedited version, still not forgotten!
Still not forgotten you saying you will upload the full unedited version. Could you do it soon please? Thanks
Formerly I had asked for the full unedited version of the video you recorded, to which you stated after question 5 is released you will do so. Considering you wont be editing it, why is it taking so long to be released?
Can we see the full unedited video please?
No parts are cut from the video. The editing process was A. Improving the sound as far as possible and B. Cropping the video for a closer view of the speaker. Not one comment from the panel or audience has been removed. But. after Question 5 is published we will place the raw video on our TH-cam channel and you will see why it was enhanced. There was one break where MIke's camera cut out it was for a few seconds at the start of the gentleman's question on Eastward Ho missing the first two words.
Many thanks
"Unnecessary public anxiety"? Why don't you address the root cause of the anxiety, the public have been shown boards with planned school built right on the field. Labelling residents concerns as unnecessary public anxiety shows a disappointing disregard for public sentiment. If it's completely unfounded and a mistake was made then where has the statement been from anyone to say "whoops we were wrong, we can't and won't build on Eastwood Ho" all I hear in this video are reasons why it would be hard for a developer to get this done by the book. We all know there are back channels and retrospective authorisations have been given in Felixstowe allowing building that residents would have successfully opposed had they the opportunity. The comments that there is an obligation to deliver does not fill me with confidence that you will fight to protect the interest of Felixstowe. It's frustrating that a single series of meetings in 2018 is being held up as the final word as if ongoing community feedback is a formality to bypass. If preserving green spaces is genuinely a priority. I would expect repeated statements to that effect not language that leaves room for 'flexibility' later on. The so-called community engagement for this project has been inadequate and dismissive of the real concerns of North Felixstowe residents. The opportunity to provide feedback and views on the project has been limited to a tiny group. Reading through the minutes of these meetings, it seems some concerns from the citizens panel are noted - just enough to make it seem like someone's listening. But where do those concerns go after that? Straight into a black hole it appears because there's rarely any follow-up or action. The rest of these sessions feel like a well rehearsed performance a box ticking exercise to say' see? We engage the community!' without having to actually deal with the inconvenient truth of public sentiment. This kind of engagement may look good on paper, but it does little to address the real frustration and anger of residents who feel like they're being managed rather than heard. If there was a genuine interest in community feedback, why aren't there options for broader participation? Evening sessions, online forums and straightforward updates on project changes should be the minimum standard. Instead, we're giving vague assurances and told our concerns are misinformed or unnecessary anxiety which comes across as dismissive and avoid accountability. We've got the final Q&A but I don't hold out much hope for the 'Question Time' format with carefully vetted questions. It's time to stop sidelining the community and start addressing our concerns with transparency and respect. Real engagement involves listening, accommodating, and responding. Not just ticking a box and moving forward with predetermined plans. If the aim was to reassure people then mission failed.
looking well
I think it’s time you resigned…

Very interesting video. I don't think it's usual for everyone to make a speech. Usually just the winner and the former MP in the case of a defeat or just the winner if an incumbent is returned.
Thanks for posting this
Promo-SM 😠
saw that station sign on ebay did you buy it?
Brilliant example of a human being is our Andrew...
Wonder if he lives anywhere near local? Consult with the locals? What bollox!! So they want to change the name, how about calling it devastation? Ha ha, the High Road through the Trimleys is a nightmare now, what will happen when all this is built?!! They're gonna ruin Felixstowe, I've seen it happen before where I used to live.
We suggest that better than sniping from the sidelines you become active and actually do something. There is a dearth of candidates for positions in the three layers of local councils. give up some time for your community and be at the sharp end. Then complain effectively.
'promosm'
Thanks for the up date
Thank you for all your hard work and initiative, Eamonn! 5th Woodbridge Sea Cubs also recently participated in a wonderful Eco-warrior workshop based at the wonderful Woodbridge Tide Mill. We have both just filled out our forms for membership of the Woodbridge Climate Emergency Centre and look forward to doing our bit to alert our community to the realities of Climate Change. We hope our neighbours will all join too. Suggested reading for "Old Scientist" : "The Physics of Climate Change" by Lawrence Krauss
A nice but pointless way to pass one's time. However, there is no climate emergency. The Earth was warmer in the recent and distant past. It also warmed faster in the past.
Mike and Bernard, Thank you so much for producing this film. I hope it provokes lively debate as well as sustainable action on behalf of our local environment and our local wildlife.
Thank you, Mike, for interviewing me
Update coming soon, Spa Beachhutters still in place...Legal action ongoing..Big question is has "Beach build and protect scheme " failed? What impact caused by deeper dredging?Annual Beach recharge?
What a good account of the situation thus far. May I ask, is there a date set for the removal of the huts? My point is once they go, they will not return. Secondly, what obstruction is caused by the huts being on the prom anyway? Even a fire engine could get past them at the moment.
Our Spa hut licenses terminate on 31st March. The council insist they cause an obstruction on the prom although I agree with you that a fire engine could get past!
Sadly I think the LGO is as much use as a choclate fire guard. The question I would ask is "Are we due compensation from the contracting engineers?" Well done Mike Deacon for asking the question.
Thanks for reporting on this important issue Mike

Inappropriate language...
Just to confirm the Shed is creating the Christmas tableau for the St Martin & St Marys Church and not the 2 Sisters Art Centre
Hmm - not a good idea to build Sizewell C ... A recent report by Standard and Poor, the key market analyst, found that renewable energy technology global investment has been running at about 350 billion dollars per year for the last few years. But for nuclear, it fell to about 17 billion for last year.
Nice vid, going to check out some more of your videos! You deserve more views, I think you should use smzeus . c o m to get more social proof!
Where and when is this debt counselling service available? Has our local MP been told? She could tell the Chancellor of the Exchequer, because we still seem to be in debt even though we have come to the end of austerity.
