I am a former high school auto shop teacher, and weekend maker. Myself along with my wife and 16-year-old son decided to live the nomadic lifestyle. We sold our house, bought a bus, and are in the process of converting the bus into a home while trying to live on it at the same time.

Tilling the Garden | With Three Homes Buried in the Ground???
Did you suck everything until at the bottom?or its a bad idea? Sorry i didnt see it
Glad the repairs went well especially the water hose. Neat idea for the door for the cats.
The hose was way easier than I feared. The door worked great.
When Connor and I (dad) did the breaks those lug nuts were tighter than they should have been but luckily the air compressor was able to do the job. Glad to see the jack is being put to good use.
@@larrykavanagh562 my little 5 gallon compressor would've done it...but your 55 gallon one could do it without taking a break every other lug nut. it's a sweet jack, thanks again for it.
how to find the exact screwdriver for these?
They're very basic tools, so any store that sells tools and hardware will have them. A 7/32 nut driver, a #2 Philips, and a small slotted screwdriver.
I doubt that shed stood the test of mother nature over the last 8 years
It was still standing fine and in use when we visited the neighborhood this past November, LOL. You're welcome to drive by and take a look for yourself, but I'm not sure the new homeowners would appreciate it 😆
Lots of beautiful sunsets (and sunrises?). Laying cement looks like a lot of hard work. We liked the shots of Nancy teleporting around (fading in and out). lol
@@larrykavanagh562 concrete is a mixture of working hard and standing around waiting to work hard again.
But is it square... 😉😂@andyandnancy
Anyone can make a square. It takes talent to make a perfect parallelogram 😂. But being you are asking me in December and not August I can also answer that, yes it is square.
@@andyandnancy 🤣
After that burn accident Andy, you need a cold beer, to hold against your poor fingers. So sorry that happened to you. I felt the pain right with you. Take care. Great video.
Thanks, the beer part sounds like a great idea! I'll remember that for next time, lol.
Swimming in the river looked like fun. Your flowers are beautiful.
It was a lot of fun... Cold 🥶 but fun.
Where you get the laminate sheets?
I bought the laminate at Menards.
Beautiful country. Enjoyed seeing the campsites and country that you worked at previously.
The beauty keeps pulling us back to Colorado. It was fun seeing Willow Creek campground being used after rebuilding it.
Beautiful mountains and beautiful flowers in Tennessee. A spectacular fireworks display right from your place. We also loved the mountain goats. They were use to people.
We were not the first hikers those goats have seen.
What seeds were on top of the bus?
I have no idea what kind of berries those are, lol. I couldn't ID it this summer because it was too hot to go up on the roof for good pictures.
What are the pads for?
Bear proof storage lockers. 400lb metal boxes on legs that get bolted to the pads so bears can't tip them over. They also have latches that bears can't open but most people can. There's a fine line between the smartest bear and dumbest human. 😂
At 16:56, he mentions that the caliper pin has a rubber silencer on it. On my Honda, the front caliper had one pin that had a rubber silencer that was twice as long as this one, that looked swollen. It was binding in the caliper causing it to not move freely in and out. I removed it and now it slides freely. Will this cause a problem? Thanks!
No, it will not. I've done that before. The wrong lube was used at the last brake job and it caused the rubber to swell.
Sounds good, thanks for replying.
If we wanted to watch Seinfeld, we'd have searched Seinfeld.🙄
Please do! 😂
Didn't know Connor was such a rock climber. He made it look so easy. The lightning bugs are wonderful. Wish we could see them in the city. Great video of the parade of the cool cars. Love you guys ❤
@@larrykavanagh562 he scoots up some pretty steep walls. A lot of car clubs like to schedule drives through the mountains. It's pretty common to see a large group of cool cars. Love you too ❤️
That was a lot of hard work. Hope you got a discount for fixing the wiring for the lights. Liked Connor was wearing a mask. He is very smart.
No discount, but I abused the shit out of the trailer. My heaviest load was 1,450 lbs heavier than the tires were rated for.
How many fire rings in total were done when you were out there? Connor is a good worker.
Connor worked his ass off for me. We replaced 41 fire rings.
❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Loved the video. Loved the back and forth of each of your lives. Also enjoyed the music. The words to the song were so appropriate. Looking forward to your next one. 😍
@@larrykavanagh562 Thanks! I loved how Nancy edited the back and fourth too!
Rub some wax on the edge to keep from burning it
Andy..wear the face shield! Loved the tour from Connor. Good job Connor! The two of you made good use of every space in the van. Looking forward to your videos from Colorado.
But scars are cool 😎 😂 The use of space worked well. Stay tuned for the Colorado videos.
Informative/well explained. Thanks
Nancy, you have a nice looking garden. Andy you need to wear a respirator. Lots of sawdust on your beard. Glad Connor wears one. Glad you are enjoying the Black & Decker Workmate benches. 😀
Should have placed a support in the middle on the floor foundation
Probably, but it has lasted this long without it.
After creating such a sweet pattern on top, why would you cover it with a turntable. Hidden and overheated. Hmmmm?
Because that's the only space I have to put a turntable. It's actually the exact reason I remade the case for this receiver, because the turntable didn't fit on the original. It has never overheated, lol.
Looking good. Waiting to see it finished.
@@larrykavanagh562 thanks
Just an old fashioned christmas tree foot, isn't it?
Pretty much!
You have a lot of patience Andy!!!
@@ericjenschneider3902 it's come with age.
You two make a great team!!
Thanks
We got along quite well in Colorado too, especially with living in such a small space for 2 months.
I miss all of that building! Alicia and I are putting a super basic deck in the front yard, so it scratches some of the itch. Good memories in that van 🤣!
Good luck!
Looking forward to seeing the finished camper van. Glad to see Connor wearing the respirator.
He didn't learn how to wear the respirator by watching me but it's most likely a good idea to wear it.
How do you replace the parking brake on a 2026 town.and country van
@@bettyrichardson9955 2026?
Glad the transmission worked. Looking forward to the next video
@@larrykavanagh562 me too!
The kitties are like little lions!! Nice job Nan….you wear so many hats!!!
The first tranny I did I was 16 years old. Got it almost there and the jack slipped. That Turbo 450 broke four ribs; two on each side.
Nancy, you are a very good helper and future auto mechanic. The two of you work well together. Glad you are able to make good use of the jack.
@@larrykavanagh562 I couldn't have done it without Nancy or the jack.
Thanks again for the jack!
That is a dirty job. Did the shirt come clean? Silver was curious as to what you were doing.
@@larrykavanagh562 yes it was, and no the shirt did not come clean. Silver is always curious as to what we are doing when we are outside.
Glad you like the floor jack. Dad
@@larrykavanagh562 it works great! Thanks again 😁
Daaaaaammmmnnnn! At the very least, use 2x3s for wall framing and 2x4s for rafters! I am happy you didn't fall through the roof, but dude really? I hope your shed lasts for years to come.
It's been there for 8 years already, and is still being used by the current homeowner.
Love your gardens 🥰🥰🥰
Go NAN!!!
Wow, that's quite a project.....I am planning a build on a Prevost, but am having a hard time finding insurance. Who do you have your bus insurance with? ive learned this is quite a problem for the self converters! THANKS
Hi Nancy and Andy❤
Hello 😄
I think you should have killed the black widow spider and her family.
Love your dress in the first part of the video 😊 you are such an amazing gardener! P.S. those ants 🐜😱
Looking forward to seeing the garden as it starts producing vegetables and flowers. LOL on the hex on the lawnmowers.
Like the way you constructed the plant boxes with the barrels and the wooden frame. Looking forward to seeing the greenhouse.
Looking forward to seeing the final produce. 🙂
I can't eat all the cucumbers and tomatoes that I've harvested so far😅
