Don't underestimate the stress of downsizing from a home you've lived in for 30, 40 or 50 years. Plan early, and plan often. Downsizing should leave you feeling overjoyed, not overwhelmed.
Start small, get motivated, give yourself 'grace" and keep moving forward. The accumulation of possessions didn't occur in a day, and decluttering and downsizing won't take place in one day either. There is a sense of accomplishment and a weight lifted once the process is complete though.
Plan early, and plan often. Live your best life NOW.
