Trust me it’s not you, this game has the worst tutorial I’ve ever seen… I don’t know if I hate the tutorial or the story more… at the moment I’m being told to shoot a projectile, dash back then shoot another at a ducking opponent… why? He’s ducking? It’s ridiculous.

Ive seen a lot of people doing that and it does seem pretty effective. Ive worked on it but I really struggle doing it on gamepad, Im thinking about getting a hitbox soon so once that happens Ill be able to fd a lot smoother and easier. Thanks for the advice though and gl out there❤️

I tried to include it in the timeline to make it easier on you but apparently you cant figure that out either. Yeah it doesnt always work and I shouldve mentioned in the vid but I tried to stay away from any roman cancel mixups because I thought it could be a little to much for a beginner to understand. A lot of these mixups arent perfect but there worth knowing because without them Ky can be a lil too straightforward and non intimidating.

I wanted to share with you a video in response to your comment, before I give my take on his mix-up. I don't agree that his mix up is non threatening. The guy in the video shows a mix up you can do with a safe jump. you can instant air dash back to do a overhead thats safe, or drop to the ground to hit them low with your standing kick. It's pretty good. th-cam.com/video/jWDBHKnHsms/w-d-xo.html I believe that his mix up is strong not in terms of damage like sol, but because of how much advantage youi get from those mix ups and from the wide variety of options he has. Take a scenerio that I do. I knock them down and use heavy stun edge. Its a great meaty that cranks up the risk gauge, and gives me tons of room to do my pressure. I ussually do close slash, and from there I have three different ways to open you up. I could go into a crouching slash to hit low if you stand up, which I can then do heavy slash into a 236 K for a soft knockdown to do a meaty, or arc de ciel, or a arc de foudre (the sommersault kick) to continue the pressure. heck if i see i got a hit, ill go use my overdrive, which is really good in this game. I could dash up after the close slash and do a tick throw. ussually because of my many lows, the enemy will be conditioned to always cr4ouch until they see my lows, but it leaves them very vulnerable to my tick throws. This resets the pressure for another heavy stun edge, and we repeat the process. Keep in mind, they always have to be watchful of my crouching slash because I can delay it to hit any of their buttons. third way you can jump after the close slash to do dust and then slash for a overhead. I see kizzie doing this and it's really good. This is also under the assumption that you are trying to open them up, but you could do close slash into forward kick to do this plus on block move that your opponent tends to forget, meaning you will hit them with crouch kick into cround dust, which leads into another rpessure situation, and you repeat the whole process. Not to mentioned that his sommmersault kick is plus on block if you dont do it right next to the opponent. Im serious, on dust loop its -1 if its done up close, but its otherwise possitive even on a opponent without shock state if it's done after say a close slash and far slash pressure. which means you can do a crouching kick into a crouch dust to reset pressure. Do you see the kinda the overall strenght of this character? Sol badguy literraly has only two ways he wants to pressure. close slash into close slash, or end his pressure with gun flame. He doesn't really have any way to open you up apart from his crouching low, but his plus on blocks moves are a risk because their only 1 of three ways he has to open you up, with the pay off of massive damage. (Its a very one on one duel to the death with sol. one wrong move and your finish) Likewise for the opponent, thats all you have to look out for when defending against him. Ky kiske is more like a millia when it's comes to pressure. Shes scary not in damage but in her options upon the knock down, which she always tries to get you in.same with chippp, he has so many options to open you up that you will get hit because theres too many options to cover and you bassically have to take a guess what to counter. Same with Ky in terms of his pressure. You can try to go for big damage combos, but what I really love about ky is that you have to go about it like a tactiful swordsmaster. You don't try to one kill your opponent, but every move you do gives you an advantage over your opponent. Your opponent will likely burst on big damage combos, but I have gotten my opponent so riddiculous low on health because i kept oppening him up with my options, yet he never pulled a burst because hes thinking., "Well its not a big damage, i can handle the mix up." yet it's absolutely essential for your opponent to pull a burst the moment your given a advantage on a knockdown. Those openings start to add up. Hope this bit of wisdom helps you. Maybe you agree or not, but I'm glad to have come across your channel.

@@Harmony116 he needs more plus frames on his specials too. Foudre arc should be plus by default and the counter play should be just to 6p so it's like Giovanna's lariat. Shock state should make it an overhead or something

Damn I would really like that. It just seems like that isnt the direction they wanna take the game. The offense in this game excluding a couple of characters is mostly lows mids and throws.

@@Harmony116 I feel that, it's just once people realize the solution to fighting Ky is: "downblock mash", matchups especially ones like ram and faust where they have more range than you becomes much harder. I definitely can't understand why he doesn't have any plus frames on his specials by default. His offence needs hella work but I will agree his fireball is probably the worst feeling problem. Nothing worse than doing an aerial fireball from the moon and getting countered after you already landed.
