No when you’re in corporate America you a human just like all of us. Character what defines people I don’t know why black people make everything about race as to why they feel mistreated yet you look at the culture it promotes fatherlessness, stealing, scamming, killing, drug dealing as if it’s cool. Notice black people that grow up in suburbs usually turn out fine and will tell you that they don’t experience none of the racism it’s bc they were built with good character

Black people don’t make everything about race. American Society made race a factor. When you apply for a job, school, driver license, fill out a survey, etc… you have to classify as a race. Black and other people of color don’t always get fair treatment. I don’t know how many black people you know but those “fatherless” “drug dealers” stereotype can fit any race. Thank you for commenting.

I like how you get down to facts! I think you would appreciate a two volume book series titled 'THE INVENTION OF THE WHITE RACE' by Theodore W. Allen. Mr. Allen passed a few years ago, but he referred to himself as "Anglo-Saxon" and Truly understood what it meant to claim "White" status in the USA! Very enlightening!

In the 90s, she was so professional about answering questions about her background. They asked her so many race questions in the 90s! It was wild!

Good video. As a biracial person, I never thought much about Mariah Carey as a mixed race recording artist. I kind of judged her music separate from her being biracial. Interesting perspective here.

I worked in radio many years ago playing music as a board op sometime after graduating from college . When you cited the musical genres and styles of Mariah Carey at one point in the video, It reminded me how culturally and frankly racially segregated commercial music is.Thus as a mixed race performer, Carey probably had to be rather stringently bifurcated and classified as a musical artist . I played Oldies rock music myself when working in radio: Beatles, Stones, Doors etc. You didn't just throw in a Motown or rap song if you felt like it. You stuck to the playlist .

Growing up in the South, I had a hard time understanding all this race talk that happens when it comes to mixed people, as I grew up and traveled it opened me up to the understanding that there are generational and geographical differences in how race works. In the South we have been "mixed" for a long time, in other places there are far less black people, therefore less mixed people, therefore less diversity and less understanding of differences. We never talked about Mariah Carey when I was a kid, I grew up right when she came out, her first album came out when I was in Kindergarten. We loved her music and had all her albums in my family. It was not hard to understand. We knew tons of mixed people, my step-mom is white, my mom and aunt had white friends, mixed kids were not ostracized. But I recognize how Mariah opened the door to the discussion of this because before her it was there but not talked about and people would claim one or the other, rather than both sides or just try to be ambiguous.

I've loved her since 1990! I was 9 then. I love her more than she'll ever know! I'm black and mexican mixed but often get mistaken as black and white. So, I know first and second hand how it feels to be casted out. But anyways....today 4/30/2023 is her twins birthday, btw! I'm glad I found your channel. 😇

Because the environment I'm in is multi racial but mostly black, we got Mexicans, Africans and african americans, some asians we all be getting along and out of no where here comes a racist white person and their biracial family members starting up drama and bringing up slavery in conversations too parties that they weren't even invited. Shows how obsessed most of them are, tell me if black people bully lightskin people so much, why do they keep going out their way to be around us? The people of dark color I'm around don't try to be around racist and colorist people.
