What a nifty idea. Right, I'm off to the workshop to make one as I'll have about 40 of these Seep devils to fit in the fiddle yard. Many thanks.

Thanks for the video. I reckon I'll be making myself something similar to your alignment tool as I've got 19 points on my layout. Just wondering what size screws do you use for mounting your point motors as I'm yet to work out which to use. Thanks!

Hi Ben I used to sell these tools on Ebay but I got weary of making the same thing all the time. To answer your question , here is an extract from the instructions I supplied with the tool........... I have used M3 x 12 countersunk wood screws and have found that using countersunk screws helps to centralise the point motor and prevents lateral movement when operating. The use of pan or button head screws, which allows for slight lateral adjustment to the point motor, should not be necessary as the point motor and point should now be in perfect alignment. Do not over tighten the screws, as this can distort the mounting base, causing electrical and switching problems. FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS TO ENSURE SATISFACTORY INSTALLATION Make sure that the operating rod of the point motor is at right angles to the motor mounting base. I have noticed on occasions, even when new, that this has been a problem, and I have had to adjust the rod by carefully bending it at the mounting base end. Regards John
