And what about those who cannot afford a supplement, not eligible for Medicaid & are stuck in totally confusing Medicare Advantage system cost wise? I hate Medicare Advantage? Not right that all eligible for Medicare do not get equal care. Those who do not have money for supplement Medicare do not get equitable care (monetary). That man has no idea what being an elder with minimal resources is like in the medical care world.

This is a very appealing commercial for Medicare Advantage. However, it ignores a growing problem that is unique to Medicare Advantage: the delay and denial of many ordinary benefits these plans promise to cover. The plans promise to provide all the benefits of Medicare Part A (inpatient hospital care and related benefits) and Part B (medical benefits). To save money, advantage plans require routine prior approval of many Medicare approved procedures, and try to limit needed care in skilled nursing facilities after a hospital stay for care and rehabilitation. Appeals from these kinds of delays, denials, and early ending of care are difficult and not successful for many Medicare beneficiaries. Current studies are beginning to show how the profit motive for plans is overcoming their dedication to provide the promised care. I've been a volunteer Medicare counselor for 15 years in California and Washington state and have seen an increasing number of complaints and appeals about inadequate care, denial of care, or early discharge from skilled nursing care following a hospital stay. I do not see any of those complaints from original Medicare beneficiaries. I help with appeals and complaints, and the barriers for beneficiaries are growing more difficult and time consuming. I do not sell anything, and everything I do is free and being a volunteer is rewarding, but it is painful to see the needless harm to ordinary people who put their trust in these plans.

If progressives couldve held their vote for Pelosi as Speaker until they got assurances that certain bills were on the docket (like M4A) Much like far right Republicans are doing now. Blumenauer is a bike riding, bowtie wearing tool for the establishment

"There is no better option than working through a Medicare Advantage program". The program didn't do anything, the physicians did. Advantage programs are relatively better, but still poor to work with.

Medicare for All is the ONLY solution to the health care crisis. Medicare Advantage continues the insurance companies making millions off of sick people. They made a bundle last year thanks to COVID. MA only covers people over 65 and disabilities. It does nothing to help the 20 million afford premiums, including under the ACA. MFA has NO PREMIUMS, OR CO-PAYS that Medicare Advantage requires. There is a federal bill, HR1976, that is a Expanded and Improved Medicare for All Act that includes dental, hearing and vision benefits. This former Democrat Congresswoman should be supporting Medicare for All instead of MA

Yes Medicare advantage allows those most needs to be able to have a better quality of life than previously was available. It is possible for those with inability to walk to be helped through physical therapy consistent with their ability to move with confidence throughout their daily activities with less assistance than before. Just having the ability to even consider these benefits are helping many remain within their own home without moving into assisted living facilities and monitoring done by in home caregiver is much less stressful for quality of life for the time left of their life. Would be much more comforting for those improvements to the lifestyle of the individual and perhaps less stressful along with providing positions of employment for caregivers home health aids one on one assistance.
