Good overview. Appreciate the rundown. I would love the single point connected but I really feel like I would hit it with my foot a lot.
I would like to see you do a video on the new 2025 model John Deere 2025r tractors
Great, they added more things to break :)
Awesome….. it’s about time someone is able to show us what the new dash looks like!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the share. Ordered one a few months ago and I’m told it’ll be in next week 🙏
Definitely few changes over the years compared to my older 1025R. Mine I got from Midwest machinery in Princeton. Mike was great to deal with over there. Buying a used gator from them when dad became handicapped they went above and beyond making sure everything was in perfect order and easier for him to operate, now that he has a fake foot and no toes on the foot he does have
I want to see the new digital dash! Been waiting to see what it looks like.
The hydro line protector on the top/front of the bucket arms got upgraded to metal. The one on my 2022 looks to be some sort of hard vinyl. Also the brake lever got relocated to beside/under the seat on the right side by the foot rest. And I believe JD did an upgrade on the headlights from a standard bulb to LED.
The parking brake lever and LED headlights came in the ‘23MY.
Did you atart aelling a wore harnes

How do you keep you tigle switches out of the rain? Some times I work in the rain cause I live in Florida. Wire connectors ip68 boxes nice. Custom brackets clean for aure. I see lots of vids on JD1025 that are great. This is clean and linear actuator and wire harness I'll be looking at next
Hey Gary, great video. Can this be used with standard 3 point mechanical lift since the deck and 3 point are tied together?
Yes stock lift in a 1 series will work
Excellent video, Thanks!
Could you talk about the throttle handle on your tractor? Looks really cool I'd like to do the same so if you'd share where you got it thx!
Mike setting up to make a video and show how to on the handle
I took that stock crap off years ago and used Pool Cue Balls that I put on a drill press, drilled, tapped/ threaded for helicoil inserts for the proper threads and have lived happily ever since! One of the first improvements I ever did on both tractors!
I did these. No more grease on my pants when I'm shimming past the tractor in the garage lol
Awesome.... Thank you for sharing Great video..!
Thanks for watching!
A leaf plow rake would be better or just mulch it, but this video is now my favorite as you definitely brought the thunder. That tractor just needs a Curtis cab for winter plowing and your set.
The tipping point depends on how much counterweight you have on the three point hitch, as well as how much weight you have in the bucket and how high it is. I suppose this would be OK if simply mowing. My 1025R is tippy as hell with no weight and the loader up. Stable as hell with my 670 pound counterweight on the rear hitch.
There are a lot of factors that contribute to tipping -roll over. This is a learning tool only nothing replaces common sense.
Had mine for a couple months. Buy extra sheer pins! Also keep an eye on the impeller. Seems to be wearing really fast since it’s plastic. Not a good design! I do start mine at lower rpm but still sheers them.
Nice
lol, loved the flash back to the PC and it's all closed :D
That's awesome. well done.
Awesome review Gary!
Damn that's a lot of leaves!
I had to switch back to mulch blades on my TKV20. Kept clogging and think the high lift was throwing too much at the boot. Also cut back on the discharge of leaves out of the front right of deck. Only happens now when it's getting full. Good review though. The plastic top and the hose is a better setup.
Interesting, but I took a piece of coat hanger wire, bent one end to make a handle and it works fine. A whole lot less complicated.
@@waltbennett5503 It’s not complicated at all it’s actually very easy. Plus it looks factory 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That's a metric ass ton of leaves..
Maybe small silicone vacuum caps on the zerk fittings would also work
Love the video and good information. I’m going to go and do some research as well but can you post what you found for the tipping limits or what you have the app set up for. I know it will be vary based on the setup of the 1025r but just looking for a base to start with. Thank you.

@@GMGJDMOD thank you sir
Did you pay for this app? I have a John deere 1025r with a cab it's very tipsy
Russel I downloaded last year can’t remember if was free or a couple dollars the link for app is in the description
I spent an hour looking for that app, and I had no luck
@@russellpeterson6517 Just now? I just made the video a hour ago and show typing it into iTunes
apps.apple.com/us/app/off-road-instrumentations/id875912666
Love this, Gary. Never thought of it but definitely going to get it. What did you do to get the tip points? Assuming they’re published from Deere somewhere.
1023e dash flasher works, but not on the rop. Tail lights work, but no flasher lights
Im thinking you forgot to hook back up a connection etc . Back track your install and look for wires not hooked up etc
Why do you need the clips? Can't you just use the PVC caps alone?
The clamps come with the caps and totally secure them so they definitely won’t come off. You can use as needed but haven’t ran without them. I like that NO dirt/dust etc gets in
When I saw this a few weeks ago, I thought that might be a little too much of a hassle ….. until I had to work on my tractor. This past week I had to work on the tractor with the loader still attached & sure enough, I had to lean over the loader rails. My belt buckle was at the same elevation as the grease fittings and I got grease all over the front of my shorts and tee shirt. As soon as I saw what I did, I thought of this video. Thanks for posting!
Because I do MODS on this tractor I have it apart all the time. I’ve greased my cloths many times unintentionally,it helps. Thx for posting
That is a great idea ...
Thx buddy
Another quality video by my man Gary. Straight to the point. Thanks for sharing!
Probably need editing someday I called it air gun No worries shows I’m human lol
Nice job man I will be doing this
Do you know if the new kit is stock on the '24 tractors?
I’m not sure if the kit is stock on the 24’s I would hope so but you would need to verify with dealer. Mine is a 2019 so I know it isn’t.
I just contacted my John Deere dealer and he says the 2024 models do in fact have the old version of the single point
Mine came on my 2023 1025r and I really like it. It's so much easier and faster to disconnect and connect. Big improvement to the tractor.
I have just been using the key to push it in.
That’s what was originally intended by John Deere. But being there are others 3D printing a solution shows an obvious “need or want” this is an easy DIY solution . Info is free thanks for posting
Cool deal, thanks for sharing.
You bet
Why is your 4x4 lever in a different position from my 1025r.
Not sure of your year 1025r but I do have the modified shift lever purchased off Amazon mine is a 2019
Few questions. I bought that wire with fuse. Does it matter what one it plugs into. And when I do plug into second one down or any of them and power probe the common screw it says negative every time. But I power probe the fuse box without a fuse in it. It says power. How can it reverse polarity at common screw on activation switch.
Mine too. Mine is a 2021. Would be nice if the poster had mentioned up front that he had a modified shift lever to begin with.
Thanks, Gary! I’m looking forward to swapping my 4WD lever with the one you have and adding the indicator light while I’m at it. I was planning on installing a bus bar, too, so I appreciate you showing that. Is there any reason you don’t also have a positive bus bar? I’m just wondering if I should include one of those as well while I’m at it. Thanks again!
I just ordered that parts to do my 2025R Nice Job
I can't take another project. Make this a kit and take my money!
Good 👍🏻 tip ❤ thanks 🙏🏻
Looking to do this mod when I pick up my 1025 but can't seem to find a filter and housing with the sensor. Do you have a link or part number you bought?
Are you looking for the filter housing with water sensor or just the canister without
@@GMGJDMOD the housing with the water sensor
@@brisson2135 amzn.to/3BelbK1
I feel really dumb asking, but do you have a link to the one without the wire and the right inner paper filters it takes? I have seen so many different versions of the filter assembly (including some that seem to have a plastic inner filter and those that have a paper inner filter), but I can’t seem to find a package that includes both the whole housing and replacement filters, or just the specifications on which inner filters match which housing. I hope that came out right… Thanks for sharing your innovative ideas with us out here in social media land (and sorry if I missed it in the description here or on the FB group).
Great write up, I just finished the install on my 2025r,which is similar to the 1025R but…. The 2025R, although it’s very very similar to the 1025R, has a fender brace bar that runs directly under the place where the switch would be mounted on the 1025R. I had to fab up a mount using a 1” piece of square tube that I fed thru the bar and mounted it to the base, then mounted the switch to the bottom of the square tube. Took me longer than it normally would take but doable if you want it. And I had to buy one of the “Jesus” clips from the dealer because my tractor ate one of them somewhere in the frame😀 Thanks for the write up👍
U bet
Glad it was helpful for you Also glad you could utilize On your rig. I’m sure if you had to do it again it would take half the time . First time always takes the longest.
The tip about removing the side panel to get at the rods was worth $1,000,000! It's a bear without that information.
Good I take Venmo Lol
Heeyy.. I found this on youtube ;)
Nice! 👍👍
Nice video. My 4WD likes to drop out from time to time so this will give me a "Heads up"
