It looked like the whole robot was shaking to achieve a little weave on the welding of the two halves. If that is the case it seems inefficient.

Wow...very tight welding!!! Ofcourse this is set by a master welder on fore hand because the robot itself is a dumb machine and only acts on input. So the human element is never gone.
Well at least these guys can rightfully claim to be one of the very few welding expert companies that make and use a proper welding robot as opposed to the robot companies like Fanuc, ABB, Panasonic, Kuka, Motoman etc that make robots and then think they can weld - big difference.
+David Richards dude, anyone of this company have weelding dedicated robots, but after all big ones robots are relative inprecise doing weelding.
+Li U MAAA Sorry I do not speak your language but I suggest you get someone to correctly translate this in to understandable English as this is illegible. I am also very interested to hear what a welding robot expert has to say on this matter.
