NEW Bilt Hamber Auto Foam | How to use and dilute Auto Foam (PIR%)
Bilt Hamber Auto Foam is one of Bilt Hamber's best selling pre wash products. Auto Foam is a dedicated pre wash snow foam product for your car that removes dirt, grime and traffic film.
But how should you use it and what is the best way to dilute? In this video we’re going through everything you need to know about Bilt Hamber Auto Foam.
Auto Foam should be diluted between 2-4% PIR (Panel Impact Ratio) to ensure it removes the dirt safely from the vehicle, without damaging paintwork, trims and alloy wheels. When using Bilt Hamber Auto Foam we recommend sticking to between 20ml - 50ml of product, diluted into a 1L Snow Foam Lance.
Auto Foam should be applied liberally through a snow foam lance across the entire vehicle. Auto Foam does not give a thick, shaving-foam-like application or appearance yet still is fantastic at removing dirt, grime and traffic film from the vehicles surfaces. Allow Auto Foam to dwell for around 5 minutes before removing with a jet wash or high pressure water, never allow the product to dry out on the surface.
For heavily soiled or extra dirty vehicles we recommend repeating the process above or increasing the dilution ration to between 60ml - 80ml of product into a 1L snow foam lance.

How to Clean and Protect Alloy Wheels | Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel
Thick foam, in my experience, looks good if you're on Instagram, but it isn't that effective. A consistency of double cream usually does the trick
Completely agree! Doesn’t have to be shaving foam for it to remove the dirt, but sticking around a little longer than AutoFoam is always a bonus.
@justcarcare Garage Therapy snowfoam also has the same effect
Excellent.Just the specifications I need for this.Thank you!! 👍🏻🇨🇦
You are welcome! 🤘🏻
Got to admit don’t like autofoam get next to no dwell time seems to just fall of the car immediately and always have dirt left over but have never re foamed the car but shall try it,have had 5ltrs of this stuff what seems like forever lol,it’s touchless for me when this eventually runs out
Touchless is awesome I must admit! Try giving AutoFoam a second re-foam, it may be the case it hasn’t penetrated the dirt beneath the traffic film, it should help do the trick!
You could try it through an IK sprayer (or equivalent). Works great this way
@ it does work but it’s designed for a snow foam lance application for better coverage and agitation of the dirt through the bubbles and low foaming action. If you haven’t already, try Touchless through a spray bottle as it works even better!
@@justcarcare TL V2 is superb too. I can't really split them for cleaning power (so far), but TL rinses easier, so it wins for me (so far)
@pigeonpoo1823 couldn’t agree more, we absolutely love Touchless! We’ve just done a video on it as well last week!
Can I use it with spray foam?
Absolutely! As long as you follow the PIR in the video (dilution ratios) you can’t go wrong!
Auto wheel is IMHO the best wheel cleaner out there. I just use it occasionally when wheels are really bad and then cheaper , less effective products on a regular basis. I like using 303 aerospace spray/rinse sealant after which keeps the alloys looking good.
Absolutely, we’ll have to give 303 a go!
I do like this pre wash, seems to work well on its own without the need for any citrus product beforehand
Definitely! It’s a really great product, especially on salt or winter grime!
Very good product
Couldn’t agree more!
Congrats on the update 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Good video buddy, clear, concise and to the point. Just subscribed 👊🏻
Thanks pal! Many more to come 🤘🏻
Well presented & explained! Would 100ml in a 1ltr snow foam bottle (mjjc v2) be too much? As you mentioned 50ml previous
All depends on your jet wash and also dilution on the snow foam lance but 50ml usually does the trick! 100ml in your lance will also work fine, but may be a little strong!
Bilt Hamber are doing a survey on their facebook at the moment about how much everyone’s pressure washer foam lance combo is diluting down. Based on that the MJJC will give between 0.75% and 1.25% PIR by using 100ml snowfoam and 900ml of water - so you should be very safe assuming you have a normal pressure washer.
It’s all about PIR, basically having the correct dilution. I have a 600ml bottle and i put 100-200 for 1-2% PIR (panel impact ratio)
What about Wet coat, where does it come in between these two for longevity, slikness and gloss ? Thanks
Slickness: Ceramic Detailer every day! Gloss: Quick Detailer but longevity of protection, has to be wet coat!
@@justcarcare Thanks JCC. Sounds like the tri-fecta of stacking, which one first, second & third. Ever try that, maybe a video waiting to happen.
I’ll get the boys on it!! 🤘🏻🤛🏻
@@justcarcare How does Phoenix Titan and Griots Ceamic Speed Shine compare to Gyeon. Apex BC3 & BC9 should also be up there for consideration. My understanding is BC9 is BC3 on Steriods
great video !!!
Thank you Jason! 🤘🏻
Can I replace Wet Coat with this product? I love Wet Coat but I find it hard to get an even coverage when applying it directly on to the panel. I would prefer to foam my car after the wash rather then going over it with Wet Coat. Will it give the same level of protection?
Wet coat will give you a longer lasting protection but Bathe Plus used in conjunction with Wet Coat will extend the life of the wet coat protection!
I picked up Korrosol from you earlier in the week and just tried it this morning for the first time. Amazing stuff, couldn't believe how much of the seemingly clean paintwork was contaminated.
That’s awesome thank you! Glad to see it’s working a treat!!
Not sure about the front splitter but the spoiler looks mint
That’s hilarious because i feel the exact opposite 🤣😆
I like adding some citrus to my snow foam to give it more kick
Very good tip! We have also done this in the past but laying down the Citrus first, especially on the lowers helps to break down the heavier dirt a little easier but for general cleaning, definitely adding a little citrus to the foam is worth it! - Aiden
Have the bathe brilliant shampoo, use it in the cannon as well as the 2 bucket wash super foamy draws a lot of dirt out, have just ran out of wet coat but used the ceramic detailer instead and it’s holding ok about a week now
Thank you for the feedback! Ceramic Detailer is awesome, especially as a drying aid also! - Aiden
When you used the Microfiber cloth after you had used iron remover ((korrosol)) the Contaminants which are bits of hard brake contamination in to your cloth they would definitely make some scratches some of the contaminats would not keep in you Microfiber cloth . why did you not Pressure wash the Bonnet after the korrosol had been on there for the specified time....
We use the microfibre cloth to agitate the contaminates that have been detached from the reaction of Korrosol. Ensuring the microfibre towel is damp increases lubrication when agitating to remove the contaminates without damaging. We always recommend flipping the towel constantly and then binning it after :)
That’s sick, but isn’t raised lettering illegal?
Completely road legal buddy, follows the new BSAU regulations set by the DVLA! :)
Oh sweet. Didn’t know that. Nice 👍🏻
I use always use both myself. KKD Citrus Magic Pre Wash and Bilt Hamber Touch-Less Snow Foam is my go to combination.
Very good combo!! We have a video coming on Touchless next week as well! 🤩
You not try Surfex as the prewash then Touch-Less or even try combing both in the one mix
@@petersmith7126 In the winter I usually add a bit of Surfex HD in with the Touch-Less for a bit of extra punch for the heavier winter grime. I recently deep cleaned and machine polished a camper van that was very dirty and I sprayed Surfex HD over the bodywork and panelling and give it a good brush in the really dirty areas before applying Touch-Less. As a rule on my own car which is always kept pretty clean I just spray a bit of Citrus Magic and then the Touch-Less. Surfex HD is definitely one of the best APC's and my go to for engine bay and heavier built up grime areas.
Good tip on using both products at the same time !
Definitely essential for a perfect pre wash routine!
Would have loved to have watched this video but with all the 'drums' banging in the background and the reviewer talking at 100 miles an hour made it virtually impossible. Sorry.
@@mikeswain9085 we’ve invested in new recording equipment and I’ll make sure I talk slower next time 🤣 - Aiden
I'll look forward to it.
I axtually break all the rules here and dilute it 10-5:1 find it works absolutely really well specially with a good but gentle rub
Some products you can dilute them, such as Jennychem Iron Fallout Remover but we’d always recommend using Bolt Hamber straight from the bottle. - Aiden
@@justcarcare fair enough buddy, but My 5l last ages and does a great job,
If it working for you then that’s what matters!
Would love to get my black gti fully detailed and ceramic coated cause my efforts are crap 😂 that’s why I love wet coat spray on blast of done, once I’ve got a engine to go in it I’m seriously thinking of getting it booked into yourself for the whole works instead of my drive way slap dash efforts
Exactly why we love Wet Coat, great results and super simple to use! Absolutely - if it's something you'd like to consider feel free to pop in and see us or drop us a call and one of the team will be happy to go through what options we have available :)
Awesome company had our full car Jaguar Ipace PPF inside and out, superb job 👌🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks for sharing! 🤘🏻
What PPF are you using? Thanks
We use Gyeon PPF! Enhance to be specific :)
Attention to detail, took my car here. Great set of lads.
Loved working on your GT4, what a car!!
Do I use a different microfibre for the different parts of the vehicle
Great question! No we don’t, because if the pre wash, wash and rinse stage is done correctly the full vehicle should be clean before iron fallout removal. However, switching cloths throughout the process or flipping to a clean side is always recommended to stop you dragging the contamination around the vehicle. - Aiden
Yeah better to wear gloves, that stuff seeps into your skin.
Gloves is always preferred with any chemical! :)
Its when your chillin in the evening after doing cars with it. Starts tightening up and cracking the skin
how does it compare to the turtle/hybrid wax ceramic was/wax
Very similar in results from our personal use.
great to the point video cheers lads
Thank you! We’ve got more coming!!
The ceramic detailer is amazingly durable for what it is. Lasts like 3 months for me.
It’s really awesome stuff, and super easy to apply in comparison to others on the market.
Do you have to have the car ceramic coated beforehand?
Definitely not! Ceramic Detailer or quick Detailer can be used on a coated or uncoated car, making it super versatile.
Nope - I collect it on 21st Oct
Your car is perfectly ceramic and clean but your skin is full of ink 😔
Aiden can’t wash that off unfortunately! Aha
Used this many times the beading is unbelievable!
The beading is definitely great!
as you said quite expensive, so i always move unused chemical about with a brush. korrosol doesn't remove bonded film, a clay is still always better after
Definitely but clay bars can marr the surface, meaning polishing after can be essential. However if you’re delicate with the iron fallout and a cloth, you won’t have to polish the car - making it perfect for coated or uncoated vehicles.
Is there any harm using that wheel cleaner on a weekly or bi-weekly basis if you don’t care about cost? I keep reading that some of these wheel cleaners can harm clear coats on wheels over time if over used, but others disagree.
It does all seem a bit over the top. I have only every used warm water and car shampoo and wheels look pristine. But I don’t do heavy braking and that obviously reduces the amount of contamination.
Nope, you can use Auto Wheel weekly without any detrimental affect to the wheels. Just don’t use it in hot or warm wheels, only in cool and out of direct sunlight.
Just found your channel mate. I like that you lay out the content in an easy to understand way and answer all questions that customers might have. Top content overall bud. Keep up with it 👍🏻
More coming buddy!
Is it ok to use every wash on a ceramic coat?
Absolutely!
I like the gta 4 theme
New to detailing here, Would it be better to use quick detailer as a drying aid when towel drying to save towels from sio2 buildup? And apply ceramic detailer after car is freshly dried with dedicated plush microfiber towels for use with sio2 detailers? Just worried about getting too much sio2 in my expensive twisted loop drying towels.
We would recommend the use of an SiO2 / ceramic sealant or rinse aid at the end of your wash process, Gyeon Wet Coat, Duel Flex, Synergy Boost & Stjarnagloss Glatt are all great examples for this! Spray on, rinse off throughly and then dry as usual - should eliminate the worry of build up on your towels!
Great video. My question is can i use quick detailer after every wash even my car is coated by ppf or normal ceramic coating
You can, it's essentially a top coat over your ppf. However if your PPF has ceramic coating, you'd be better off using Gyeon's PPF Maintain which is a more better version of "ceramic detailer" and seems to last longer and is definitely designed for a top coat over ceramic coated PPF.
You’ve turned putting stickers on into an art🎉
Oh yeaaah! 🎉🤘🏻
si te pones guantes mucho mejor
I threw that crap brush away and got a ANALAN BRUSH... It's the best I've ever seen... That lily brush had me working all day!!!
Pet hair removal is never a fun job thats for sure! We've not tried that one but we'll give it a shot!
Nulle 😂
Why do people play music over their talking, pointless video.
Same opinion
Looking back at our older content and completely we agree. Thanks for the feedback - keep an eye out for the new style of videos over the coming weeks!
Why did you use a perforated synthetic decontamination towel with the iron remover Instead of the microfibre? That would have been more effective.
can it be used in a form gun pressure washer application ? Plus what is this totally different bottle as well? th-cam.com/video/l_aJ6PvW91I/w-d-xo.htmlsi=S0lNhAGBbVLQe0DK
completely different products :)
yellow one is for carnauba not for ceramic* and this product can't foam the reason is sio2 go all down so...
Bar far its best quality is its self cleaning ability. I've been using it for about 6 months now, and I've never known any other product provide self cleaning like this does.
