I was lucky enough to see ET in the late 60’s at the NCO club at Altus AFB in Oklahoma. Great show and at the end of the show he flipped his guitar so THANKS showed. I’ve been a huge fan ever since!

"...in 1941, just before the start of WW2...." Really? I think you'll find the 'world' was at war long before the US joined the party in December 1941. Better later than never! My grandmother had already lost two of her six sons in the war, another was to die in 1942 and the three that came back were shells of men. Unfortunately the British didn't have any "Saving Private Ryan" scheme.

I always got a laugh out of hearing Billy tell stories about Waylon in his younger years. When he was said to have a $1,500. a day cocaine habit. Like the dynamite or Atlanta dog story.

Got to meet Billy Jo in Waco a few years back, and he was excellent 👌 Somebody tried to hurt/shoot him one night but Billy don't play. He just basted the guy in self defense of course, so that's why you always carry👍👍🇺🇸 I remember seeing him after they walked out of the court building. Wasn't able to get in to observe because it was packed.

He was a true outlaw, and a tremendous artist

The first outlaw album was recorded by Lucky White and His Dude Ranch Playboys. Lucky recorded from 1946 thru 1968. His music was released on 45s and 78s. His album NO MUSIC NO BETTIES NO LUCKY can be heard on all digital platforms. Released 24 years posthumously. Lucky toured with Hank Williams, Cliffie Stone, Buck Owens, Les Paul and Mary Ford among many others.

Everything David Alan Coe wishes he was. Billy never had to lie about anything. Everyone’s a Outlaw till an Outlaw shows up.

I always sang Honky Tonk Heroes in my band back in the 70's. I miss him and his son.

Listen to Waylon sang honky tonk heros on the out law album. That to me is green gables the best it has ever been sang. Billy Joe shaver wrote that song and incorporated a lot of his life. Love you all.

Loved Billy Jo and son Eddie one played a little better one wrote a little better. They are several great videos of Billy on TH-cam. One of my favorites is Old Raged Truck live. Where he tells the story. I love TH-cam but I’ve seen great videos come and go. And I know it’s copy write laws. But Hea. ( Little Redneck there) I got to see the videos for a bit.
