To select any single shape inside the mask or in a group use direct selection tool. Then change the background color. To change the entire color of artwork I use the "color" transparency because the artwork is gray. Let me know if you want to know more.

I think when we use mouse, it doesn't show the pressure sensitivity option. It shows only with pen tablet.

May be the file size or you might have ticked Relative instead of Absolute.

After I blend two lines then I drag down the whole group of lines in the gap with alt to copy another group of blended lines and then I reduce the width of those lines. Let me know if you get it or not.

You can use direct selection tool to select one line and change the roughen numbers or you can ungroup the lines to customize the roughen effect accordingly.

Select the object then press S for scale tool. To increase the size use shift + drag from center to the corner of the object. To decrease the size use shift + drag from corner to center. Make sure you Drag diagonally and keep the reference point in the center. You can scale by using corners also. Let me know if you understood or not.

What do you use, Mouse or Pen tablet? I think, to use pressure sensitivity we need Pen tablet.

When I was selecting only one line and dragging it and it was blending with more lines as I set the blend mode on those lines. But I wanted only single line between each line so I selected the all grouped lines and dragged down. Let me know if you understand now or not. You're welcome! 👍

If you will see I was dragging the line in isolated mode that's why it was taking the blending effect as it was set previously.

You can fix your brush width as you want. If you are using a pen tablet then you can use the pressure option and keep the brush size minimum 50% and a maximum 100%. You can adjust the size by stroke. It also depends on the brush proportion.
