Molo is not a barangay. It's a District of ILOILO CITY. ILOILO CITY has 7 Districts - CITY PROPER; MOLO, JARO, LA PAZ, MANDURRIAO, LAPUZ, , and VILLA AREVALO. Each district has its own specialty dish. MOLO had PANCIT MOLO. JARO has BISCOCHO de JARO, BARQUILLOS (Barquillos in the Philippines was originated in JARO by the DEOCAMPO Family during the Spanish era, they have a store near Jaro Plaza. The BANANA PINASUGBO and CRACKERS also originated from Jaro. From Mandurriao originated the White Squid Rings by the Montelibano Family. PANCIT EFUVEN also originated from Mandurriao. From MOLO came PANCIT MOLO and the famous FRESH LUMPIA UBOD, it's because Molo was the district of the Chinese and it was called PARIAN during the Spanish period. PARIAN means "the place where the Chinese lived", just like the Parian of BINONDO. From LA PAZ originated the LA PAZ BATCHOY. From the CITY PROPER and all over ILOILO, we have the VALENCIANA rice dish. All carinderias in the city serve Valenciana regularly because it is a favorite dish of the Ilonggos. From VILLA AREVALO originated the nationally famous ILOILO CHICKEN INASAL during the Spanish era and which has been imitated by other cities like Bacolod. The most famous Chicken Inasal in the Philippines originated from ILOILO - the famous MANG INASAL. It's first store is located at the ROBINSON'S PLACE ILOILO mall at De Leon Street. Visitors to ILOILO make it a point to drop by at this store to eat in its historic surroundings. Mang Inasal's historic 500th store is at the GAISANO DIVERSION ROAD.

#jerrytreñas. This is actually a side street. Anyone can pass this two lane street at random, which is why at times, a lot of cars pass here at random . So a traffic jam can happen here . No issue..

The house (1:58) at San Jose Street in Molo District where you said parang Vigan is owned by the Melliza family and is the house where Dr. Jose Rizal visited his ilustrado friend Don Raymundo Melliza as he traveled from Dapitan to Manila for the last time. This was the last time Dr. Rizal traveled freely because when he arrived in Manila, he was arrested and deposited at Fort Santiago abd executed afterwards. In ILOILO, Dr. Rizal also visited the MOLO CHURCH and strolled along the CALLE REAL (today's JMBasa Street, but still popular called as Calle Real) where he bought his now famous STETSON HAT that he wears in portraits) at the famous LA ESTRELLA DEL SUR Department Store.

#jerrytreñas. Atty Joe, if you notice, it's not just one part of the city that is a tourist attraction. Practically, the entire city is a tourist attraction, just like in PARIS , FRANCE, unlike in other cities like Cebu where the tourist sites are in selected places only. And to think , it would be impossible to station police in practically all areas of the city. The police force is limited, I think it's the national government that allots how many police can be hired per city, I have no idea.Anyhow , we're all glad our city is finally getting the attention of tourists and convention groups. Let's hope we target the high-end professional travelers , those who have money to spend, including cc vacationing families who are not from Iloilo but heard of Iloilo and are vacationing in ILOILO as families, not the low brow, and definitely not the patrons of kinky bars like in Thailand and, to a certain extent, in Cebu.
