Mozart: Ganz Kleine Nachtmusik K.648 (Premier-Performance arr. for Woodwind-Trio by V. Mélancolique)
"Mozart: Ganz Kleine Nachtmusic (Serenade in C) K. 648" by Valse Mélancolique
This Classical-work was first made public September 19, 2024. The music has been unheard and unknown for over 250-years. It was found among manuscripts in a German Library while compiling a new edition of Mozart's Complete Works. It is a string trio in seven-movements written when he was small and full of his youthful vigour. Mozart was probably 10-years old when he wrote this!!!
This recording is the Premier Arrangement and Performance of this work for Woodwind-Trio by Composer Valse Mélancolique (finished September 27, 2024) The instrumentation is Flute for Violin 1, Oboe for Violin 2, and Bassoon for Cello and it works well since all the instruments are C-instruments requiring no transposition. I changed a few things like moving most of the Flute parts up an octave and added some small ornaments now and then. The Oboe part has the most changes, as the Violin 2 compass/range is usually too low and not high enough for the Oboe - so I messed around with that as I saw fitting.
The Discovery of this piece has brought me to tears with childish joy like I am hearing music for the first time. I have such a profound admiration and respect for Mozart I can't explain what his music makes me feel sometimes. I was a little skeptical about the piece the first time I heard and read about it, but after listening to several recordings several times I received the 'Mozart-Effect' of Musical-Enlightenment and its now one of my favorite pieces by him.

"Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 in C#-minor by Franz Liszt" by Valse Mélancolique The opening of this piece makes a person feel deserted in the Sahara with nothing but a jacket and gun. The first note is a gun-shot into the wilderness of Death, a warning for all those who dare to journey forward. Several echoes are heard before we descend into a lugubrious march of sorrow and misery, the 'Lasson'. Mom...

      @@ValseMelancolique Indeed, a more liberal interpretation of "tempo" is a fixture that is often absent in Bach interpretations. Despite the fact that art did not truly become "emotional" until the Romantic Era, we as performers can still inject humanity into the sterility of Bach's "music,” through generous use of rubato. In accordance with my own method of “reading”music that I have developed (I tend to stay away from sheet music because of its nefarious intentions), I believe that tempo is more of a malleable social construct rather than a strict element of music. Were any of us really there when Bach put his quill to the paper and birthed these notes onto the page from the fertile womb that was his creative mind? How can any of us purport to know what he truly meant by "Allegretto, dotted quarter note = 92?" We cannot know what tempo Bach truly "intended;" we may only venture guesses. And to merely guess would be doing Bach’s craftsmanship a disservice. Therefore, we must turn to statistics to divine our true answer. The average tempo of a Bach piece is around 96 bpm with a standard deviation of around 20 bpm. Armed with this knowledge, we know that the appropriate "tempi" for this piece range, assuming a Gaussian distribution of tempi, would likely range anywhere from 56 to 136 bpm. Thus your interpretation, which never strays from this range is perfectly acceptable, nay, I would go as far as to say it is exceptional. I, personally, like to take a different tempo every measure within this range, in hopes that the average tempo of my performance may emulate Bach's original intentions.

    • @alzittis
      @alzittis 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@JohannKabalevskyAlkanpiss Brilliant idea! Truly no one can say what Bach really intended, especially when it comes to tempi. And because of that, anyone who tries to capture in their interpretation what the composer originally intended is destined to failure. Why trap your soul in the bounds set by stereotypes such as "the tempo must be constant"? In fact, why not get rid of all such restrictions that inhibit you from truly expressing yourself? As the interpreter, you have all the power in your hands and it is your duty to remove any obstacle that gets in the way of you communicating your feelings to the world. Anyone who tells you the opposite is merely trying to distract you with the impossible task of knowing the intentions of a person who lived hundreds of years ago.

    Czerny has all the Mordents written the other way... which is sometimes more difficult to execute in the polyphonic passages that require attacking the note from above first - The Edition you see in the video is Busoni's. It makes more sense with Czerny: 1) because his sources are more original, and 2) there are trills which conclude each section... like the end of C-sharp minor modulation to E-major - it makes much more sense to use the ornaments to delineate these sections out (finally starting out an ornament on a different direction.. vs boring repetitive Busoni the same every time) - I listened to some recordings of the Prelude but none hit the emotional-depth and improvisational etiquette I desire to express myself nor do they really delineate even with the reintroduction of the opening theme - Therefore most Listeners have no idea it even happens with the mannerisms the Prelude is usually performed - driving through each passage, drilling like a military convoy, overtaking any and all pathways to simply arrive at a certain point on time, providing different colors of all hideous and non-camouflaged Neons for Ornamentations, however without the foresight of a Commander they conclude themselves to mingling in trivial matters which do nothing for the broad picture except mindlessly consume the rations given before them and thus all the sound produced is lesser in this manner.
