Back in 2022 I tried to push through and beat this game, and over a span of a couple of days I got to world six I think was my best, I really want to beat it without using any form of save states or cheats, but if a few runs die in world 7 or if 8 is truly that bad, I may end up cracking and cursing the game's lack of continues lol. @@TheTrashvengers Honestly my advice having played it on the original NES is you need to farm up some lives to really get through a lot of the messes. 8-2 if I remember correctly was the worst stage but if memory serves correctly the beginning has a hidden 1-Up. That's the biggest thing with the game is finding the 1-Up on the brutal stages because it's a bail out mechanic.

​@@Rand_Al_Thorthe cool thing about the 8-2 1up is you can always get it back. In other levels you can only get the hidden 1up once but 8-2 is different because the 1up is actually just in a standard brick block rather then the invisible one

Damn! That sounds like that would have been very helpful actually! I found the book so fast in Level 8 I pretty much ran through straight to the finish not knowing it was there, but I definitely should have included a heads up about key, like I did in the previous episode with the bomb upgrade. Funny enough, I ended up finding this fact out during my long trials in level 9 in the next episode! That's the problem with me filming this back in February, when I sat down to edit this one last week, I thought I made a great point about something the sequels improved, so I put it in the video, only to find out just yesterday while I was editing the finale it was not true AND I pointed it out in the process! If I could go back, I'd definitely not include that, but I thank you regardless for watching and enjoying the playthrough! Despite the frustrating parts, it was a great time! :)

I managed to beat the game, and I probably was able to get through…85% of it without using a guide, (As the whole play through will show!) the only thing that I really struggled with was the heart containers, those are just needles in a haystack, the rest is possible, just very time consuming!

Yeah, it definitely tripped me up for a moment there! I'm used to arrows having their own supply like it is with the rest of the sequels so I was so confused for a moment there!

I have my moments of pure brilliance and moments of pure stupidity! It's a nice mix!

I've gotten a few comments already about using the bow and arrow on the pols voice, my dumbass saw that the arrows cost money and I got way too greedy and just didn't use them! Also, glad I could bring you back to your childhood! I've gotten a few comments along those lines, and it blows my mind people who grew up with this game have the patience to deal with my stupid ass! Thanks for watching! :)

Respectfully, throughout this playthrough I stated point blank every time I had to use an external source in order to progress, (The heart containers and Dungeon 2 at the start of this video, along with things that will happen in the next video.) Secondly, this was my first real attempt to finish Zelda 1, but I've played most of the sequels this game spawned, it's easy to use my knowledge of those games and apply them to this one. Thank you for watching though!

OH MY GOD! I played through this game back in February, so when I'm editing the videos, I remember a lot of things that I had completely forgotten about. BUT THIS COMMENT JUST REMINDED ME ABOUT THE TROUBLE THE BLUE WIZROBES GAVE ME!

@@Seriousgreeen I hated those things when I was a kid 😂

The frustrating part is that's how I ended up killing the dungeon 2 boss! I just had no idea how to get the Dodongos in that state again, so since I could never get my sword to kill them, I gave up and just ended up trying to get them to swallow the bombs which ended up in the sad display in dungeon 5. Beyond that, thanks for watching! Hope you enjoyed! :)

@@TheTrashvengers the trick I use for the dodongo is having it eat one and immediately placing another bomb in front of it.

This was my favorite game growing up in the NES era. Love seeing someone play it and not knowing it very well. Reminds me of the trial and error of my childhood.

I love Zelda games, but I'm staying away from 1 and 2 (especially 1). Fun video.

This is DayZ! Its a survival game where you are spawned into a big open world that you have to survive in, filled with zombies and other players that you can run into! There’s a few videos on our channel that could give you a better feeling of it if you’re interested in it! :)
