      That is exactly what I'm wanting to know is where to find those feeders they're perfect. I have tried a multitude of feeders and none of them work properly when it comes to quail.

    These males are very well-behaved. I mean there has two be two dozen here? And in 6 minutes not a single one of them attempted to start a train on some poor bastard that dropped the soap? Man, the baby monitor in my Bachelor pad is like watching a Micheal Bay movie in the middle of a Tornado. Never a single feather out of place, though. I dont know how they do it.

    We hatched 3 eggs together, so had 1 male & two females for about eight weeks. One of our female recently got away, and we haven't Bern able to find her. Ever since, our boy is restless in their home, going back and forth, and he's calling like this, but constantly. Do you think it's because he misses the other female?

    • @KStone9711

      It very well could be

    • @eNoOne3263
      @eNoOne3263 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Birds don't have moral feelings, they don't miss each other... A breeding couple is formed by 4-5 females and 1 male... Any other ratio puts them in disbalance... Imagine this : Instead the lone male mating 10 times a day with 5 females he has to do it with just one. This experience is overwhelming for the female and she starts ignoring him and not letting him easy to claim her. His sounds are an effort to attract other females, couz the guy has needs... Always keep the ratio stable! To much males = male fights, and too much females = female fights.

    I’d be pretty loud if you locked me in a cage too… sounds much better if they’re spread out in a field… obviously can’t release all of em but maybe let some go after they’ve produced for you…. Yes some will survive… yes they will…

    • @dominos6576
      @dominos6576 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you mean release into the wild?

    • @Lycantis
      @Lycantis 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Releasing pets or livestock into the wild is why we have an invasive species problem. Do not release domesticated animals into the wild, ever. It doesn't matter if it's a native species, because the genetics may be off from human interaction and breeding of that species. Better to butcher them when they become "useless" and leave the wild ones to produce more of their own.

    • @EMK230
      @EMK230 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah, if you mean release into wild, I'm not sure that's a good idea sorry

    • @Ünderdog-777-86
      @Ünderdog-777-86 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Key word there is "some" so even you know that's wrong. Like you "might" survive if you were alone in the wild too. Had the same energy doesn't it? Maybe I'm wrong and you're the next Davy Crockett.... Regardless, don't be tellin people to release their pets. All it would do is give predators an easy snack. I love my pets more than I love most people. If someone told me I should release my pets I'd have a few choice words.

    wow that is one simple cage design actually, im surprised.

  • @farrahgentry1654
    @farrahgentry1654 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really like your design! Have you had any problems with snakes? I have a great little mouser, so I’m not really as concerned about the mice (she sometimes eats baby snakes too), but I’m wanting to use bigger wire to get thicker ga. and am worried about snakes. Specifically, a snake getting in and trying unsuccessfully to eat my birds and killing and regurgitating 4-5 before finding one small enough to swallow. I like how you inclined the cages for egg roll-out….much less complex and just as effective! Thanks a lot!

    Hey any chance anyone knows the answer to this question, cant seem to find the answer anywhere. My male quail only seem to crow whenever i walk in the room they are being kept, otherwise they are almost completely silent. I was wondering why they only call when they see me lol

    • @Mike-x6i4l
      @Mike-x6i4l 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      He loves you. My brother had quail, and every time my mother walked in, one of the males would crow to her all the time. Birds do show affection toward people. My chickens were cuddly toward me but not others.

    One thing you did not mention, that is important for egg rolling into the egg catcher, (but you did do correctly though), is to make sure the mesh on the floor is facing the right way. Make sure the bars that are on top, are the ones running vertically down to the catcher, not the other way around, where the raised bars on the opposite side, run horizontal lines and therefore bumps for the eggs to get hung up on and no roll down smoothly. Running vertically, back to front, inside the cage, they have an unobstructed slide down "raised tracks" essentially and the horizontal ones are underneath and out of the way. No way for eggs to get hung up. This is at least true of non-woven, welded hardware cloth. Woven of course would be different and isn't really suitable for this, as the wire goes up and over and down and under and back up again etc. creating bumps everywhere no matter which side you pick.
