Common sense question here (might be hard to answer as common sense is lacking in most people these days but here goes). If posting a video it’s a good idea to post measurements of ingredients being added so others will know how to make said recipe, so question is? How much of all these ingredients and why not post them if posting a recipe? IE common sense once again.
Looks delicious
super
So how much tomato paste? worcester sauce, and barley do you put in???
Use beef broth do not use chicken broth. This is lame.
I have never understood the logic behind using chicken broth when making a beef stew, soup etc. Makes no sense.
These look great! I love the pace of your videos and the follow-up written recipes. Thanks. I'm now sub'd.
Sorry, I'm not doing the transcript thing to get your recipe. I'll go elsewhere but thanks.
I'm making this again right now. I found this recipe a couple years ago and tried it because my last slow cooker pot roast used apple cider vinegar and made the house smell like vinegar for days and I kept thinking I had covid because that's a symptom. I was so happy because it made the house smell soooo good. It's the fresh herbs! And the roast came out great but I kept putting the veggies on bottom because the old recipe but the veggies are so much plumper and brighter (and tasty!) when you put them on top like you say. THANK YOU!
I’m making this right now. How long do I simmer?
The beef until almost tender then about 20 or 30 minutes for the barley until cooked through.
I have been looking for a clean beautiful plating of this dish i cant wait to have my friend s over thankyou x
Any one from INDIA 🇮🇳🇮🇳
NO MEASUREMENTS...THUMBS DOWN ON THIS CHANNEL!!
Looks delicious, bought all the the ingredients… Just realized the recipe is useless without measurements.😒
There is a link in the description above to the printable recipe.
Good stuff. It's a hot summer day but I am going to make this anyway. I love soups and stews.
It seems like a nice video, but why are you using chicken stock for a beef based soup?
I changed it, and am using beef stock instead. 👍🏼
Are there any measurements/quantities for the marinade?
There is a link in the description above to the printable recipe.
This was delicious! Absolutely our new favorite comfort meal.
No measurements!?
Love the video and slow motion stirring of pot ! i will make this - superb 🎉
WHY chicken broth when this is a BEEF barley soup??? Use BEEF STOCK for a truly rich and hearty beef barley soup ;?)
Me too I was surprised to see chicken stock
Was hoping for someone to have answered you . Never made this soup and I’m looking for recipes- first one adds chicken stock 😵💫
Because store bought beef stock hardly has any beef in it it's mostly flavored with yeast proteins for a beefy flavor
@@ladyheroine5852 what? That’s kind of a scam then. Beef broth is not cheap at all. I should go back to making my own bone broths. I made this soup last time. It’s gone so everyone enjoyed it. It’s cold here now so soup and stews will be many dinners for awhile
Made this a couple of times, husband says it's the best chill I've ever made. Thank you
that's going on my death row last meal list. It looks so good.
Why not tell us how long to simmer?
When beans go in? What temp? How long? Duh.....
How long do you simmer the barley?
20 to 30 minutes until cooked through.
Your recipe reinforced my way of cooking this. Only thing is that I wait to add the carrots and celery until I add the barley so they don't mush out. Thanks.
So good❤🎉
Looks great can't wait to make it
How much broth went in
I add FRESH,😢 CHOPPED DILL, DELISH!!!! ( OR DILL Pickle RELISH, CELERY, CAPERS, ETC. - better, more flavorful, & interesting!).... 😋❤👍
Too bad you didn't mention the exact amount of the spices. ☹️
Came across this recipe yesterday & just finished making it. It really is delicious & def. worth cooking it. I couldn't find barley in the supermarket but they did have a barley/lentil/red split pea combo, so I used that. This is a hearty soup that is perfect for the Fall/Winter season.❤
That sound good too
Looks really delicious, thank you!
We finally found the person responsible. DON’T USE A SPICE GRINDER OVER STEAMING FOOD. THAT’S WHY IT’S ALWAYS CLOGGED.
Where is the recipe? What about the quantities used?
Ingredients 2 lbs chuck roast, trimmed of excess chunks of fat, cut into 3/4-inch cubes 3 Tbsp olive oil 1 1/2 cups chopped carrots (about 3) 1 cup chopped celery (about 2 ribs) 2 cups chopped yellow onion (1 large) 3 Tbsp tomato paste 1 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic (4 cloves) 2 (32 oz) cartons low-sodium chicken broth or beef broth 1 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce 2 tsp minced fresh rosemary, or 1/2 tsp dried 2 tsp minced fresh thyme, or 1/2 tsp dried Salt and freshly ground black pepper 1 cup pearl barley 3 Tbsp minced fresh parsley
Looks delicious! Thanks for the good recipe.
I made this today and it's just yummy. I used the toppings of sliced avocado, shredded jack, cilantro and tortilla strips in the recipe, but added them to the bowl after serving, not the pot. They really make the recipe. My only change is next time I think less chicken would be better. 1.5 cups would be enough.
Quick and clear. Perfect for this coming winter.👌
Is there a written recipe somewhere? I like the video, but it moves fast and I want to be sure I get the entire recipe.
Instructions Heat 1 Tbsp olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Dab beef dry and add 1/2 or 1/3 of beef, adding just enough not to overcrowd. Season with salt and pepper. Let sear until golden brown on bottom, about 3 minutes then flip and cook 1 minute longer. Transfer beef in pot to a plate along with juices and repeat process with remaining beef adding in another 1 Tbsp oil to pot. Add 1 Tbsp oil to now empty pot. Add carrots, celery and onion and saute 3 minutes. Add tomato paste and garlic and saute 1 minute longer. Pour in broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, rosemary, thyme and season with salt and pepper to taste. Return beef to pot. Bring mixture to a simmer then reduce heat to low, cover and simmer until beef is fairly tender, about 45 - 60 minutes. Add barley, cover and simmer until cooked through and beef is tender, about 45 - 60 minutes longer. Stir in parsley. Serve warm.
@@hightechcop God bless you for this.
@@hightechcop How much barley, 1 cup?
Yummy
Beef and barley soup but with chicken broth instead of beef?
Just found your channel yesterday. Made this today and made biscuits to go with it....hubby loved it. Great recipe!
That sauce is good as hell
In austria we make it with smoked ham or bacon
Great video easy,to the point,no pointless talking y'all
Looks very tasty.
Couldn't find the dry ingredients measurement?
LOL, they are not there. Use what you want
It’s in the description box and click the link where it should pop up a web page, you just have to keep scrolling.
Too fat, too little broccoli
Why add chicken stock to BEEF soup? Wouldn’t it make more sense to add beef stock?
Many people have stopped making homemade meat broths and instead buy storebought. Storebought chicken broth tastes notably better than storebought beef broth. If you have homemade beef broth, feel free to use that.
@@bellenesatan the recipe is awful … they can’t cook
