This is the Spacesynth Remix of my 1991 Amiga mod Space Debris. I made the remix for the video game Rochard in 2011 (great game, check it out if you can!). This is a remaster of my 1991 Amiga mod Space Debris. All sounds come directly from the original, but I used some light processing to open the mix a bit. It’s snowing again in Finland. Not particularly nice this time of the year, but at least I could make another video out of it. (There's nothing additional in the video, just a single take of the falling snow, plus some messing with contrast and playback speed, and of course the soundtrack).

I used to listen to this and others (crystal rain, klisje paa kllisje...) sooo much in the early 90s while up late studying in university (or getting up to no good on the computer). Thanks for the remaster and the nostalgia fix! Loved this piece so much - masterful example of what was possible with the medium.

Been listening to this masterpiece since the 90s.
Bobby Prince could never. Lee Jackson wouldn't dare. Mitsuda Sama comes close, let's be honest. God Damn that's a good track. Also, I know it's not a competition between all these fine folks. This is the music of the art I grew up with, and it continues to fill me with so much joy. I wish you all healthy, peaceful lives filled with the time to keep doing the work that made us all feel so many things. Much love.

The SpaceSynth remix is on Spotify, but the original (or this remastered version) isn't, or at least shouldn't be... But now that you mentioned, I really should publish this one too on streaming services, I'll try to get that done soon 🙂

Man do I miss the days when computers were just becoming the audiovisual powerhouses they are today. Everything was new and exciting year after year and having a computer in the home was something special. Today I've got technology everywhere and it's all meh.

Because Recoil Games sadly went out of business, i had to buy a second-hand key of Rochard. I have yet to find this track in-game, but it'll be fun when i get there. Actual good game so far, though. Looking forward to beating it :)

Hello Captain. May i ask which Visualizer you used for this? I like it very much. 🙂
Hey! I’m glad you asked (and thanks) 😄 It’s actually not a single visualizer, but I constructed the whole thing from a few separate elements in Final Cut Pro X. The spectrogram is a single (huge) still image I saved from an audio editor, and the “3D” scroll is created with FCPX’s basic image tools. It was a bit tricky to match it to the song, but once you get two points in sync, everything else works too. Plus there’s a ton of color & alpha processing etc. on top. The stars are from the Yanobox Nodes FCPX plugin (with some glow & other effects on top). And the “nebula” in the background is just my photos of regular clouds, with lots of color processing and some slow movement to create a fake 3D effect.

The Amiga was such an amazing system, I still own a few of them, technology has moved on but for what they could do at the time they were years ahead of the competition and I truely believe without the Amiga other platforms would not have made the efforts they did to match and ultimately surpass it.
Please, please, PLEASE do this with more Amiga mods. Some Fleshbrain, specifically Neodrink would be amazing. Either way this seems like the definitive way to experience this tune. Amazing! Thank you!
