I was actually thinking of doing the same thing with a Chinese Strandberg kit. Hoping to do this soon enough as I’ve never built a guitar before and would love to make my own especially as a Strandberg style guitar. Your design really gives me more of a motivation to do so. Your design is amazing.

Why can't both live edges be kept? I see you went for the 2/3 wood 1/3 epoxy look but hypothetically speaking, could you have kept some of the edges from both ends? If the bark is a part of the edge of the guitar, can it be epoxy'd to stay on?

I hope you have figured out by now to use vacuum bags when doing veneers, this will let you shape it around the contours.

I still would worry about cutting myself on some part of the guitar at some point.

Isn't it a bit wasteful to use padouk on the body? Yet you used another wood as a cover. So why padouk?

Very cool video! Love that jig you made for the neck mortise. Definitely learned a few things for when I eventually attempt a build. But when you were hogging out the body and that drill press bit your hand… ouch!

Mine works too. I used the Woodglut plans and performed it without any problems.

Why those hideous dots?

Beautiful guitar. Me wants it. I’m normally a maple-board kinda guy, but on this occasion I think rosewood would have looked better. A darker fret board would have matched and balanced the dark spots on the main body.

What is the make of your Router ?

Copper top with an epoxy finish ? You , my friend , are a glutton for punishment. Why pick such a labor intensive finish ? I'd have gone with a fabric top ( no rights ) and 4 K finish. But I respect your choices.

I fucking hate gaming laptops. Today when I walked into my economics class I saw something I dread every time I close my eyes. Someone had brought their new gaming laptop to class. The Forklift he used to bring it was still running idle at the back. I started sweating as I sat down and gazed over at the 700lb beast that was his laptop. He had already reinforced his desk with steel support beams and was in the process of finding an outlet for a power cable thicker than Amy Schumer's thigh. I start shaking. I keep telling myself I'm going to be alright and that there's nothing to worry about. He somehow finds a fucking outlet. Tears are running down my cheeks as I send my last texts to my family saying I love them. The teacher starts the lecture, and the student turns his laptop on. The colored lights on his RGB Backlit keyboard flare to life like a nuclear flash, and a deep humming fills my ears and shakes my very soul. The entire city power grid goes dark. The classroom begins to shake as the massive fans begin to spin. In mere seconds my world has gone from vibrant life, to a dark, earth shattering void where my body is getting torn apart by the 150mph gale force winds and the 500 decibel groan of the cooling fans. As my body finally surrenders, I weep, as my school and my city go under. I fucking hate gaming laptops.

I'm waiting for my Chinese Steinberger (Chynberger?) from DHGate to arrive to me in the US. It's been going back and forth in China for the past 10 days. I wonder if I'll ever get it. How are those Chinese tremolos? I'm wondering if there's a way to retro fit a Floyd Rose type on the body. I'm guessing some wood need to be added and then some new holes drilled.
