I trim my own horses and would love it if you could show how to have horse relax on farrier stand. I tend to just hold their feet while nipping and rasping but it adds wear and tear on my back. Thankyou for your posts!

I'm sorry. I subscribe to your channel bc I like he way you think about horses and the way you handle them. But your pitch here is irresponsible and a total crock. Horses are unpredictable and that needs to be respected. You're doing a great disservice to your viewers -- many of whom aren't going to be strong riders, and some probably know next to nothing about horses -- by doing this and defending it. Bending a horse to slow down or stop is not bad horsemanship or something to be ridiculed. By all means ride bridle less in a round pen or arena or fenced field. But doing it "outside" is just not smart. I could be wrong but I can't imagine any of the excellent horsemen I follow on YT (mostly Pat Puckett, Bret Davis, Ryan Rose, Warwick Schiller and Herm Gailey) advocating going bridle less on the outside -- just as a matter of judgment. I'd be surprised if even Stacy Westfall did that.

Gday mate. I’ve rode horses like that all my life , they were everywhere here in Australia when I was a kid, still around now but not so many. They were bred to work, ride 30kms out the bush get your cattle and ride back out of the gorge and still have the ticker to come out. Not for weekend riders. You can’t train on them until you burn off some of their energy. Lots of one rein stops, don’t bother running them backwards it does nothing. Tried that. Lots of one rein stops, keep them in their gate, best done at walk or trot, dare them to break gate. I guarantee if done properly you’ll have a good horse. Don’t expect too much too young.

I have never seen a horse react like that to boots... Has she been "rope trained" or lain down with ropes? She might have been trying to help. Oh you got there. I think she was trying to figure out what you wanted and wasn't being drama.

So funny to watch. She was a good girl for you. My horse did it with fly boots for a few steps and it gave me quite chuckle.

Naaa horses need spurs. I've used spurs my entire life. When I don't use them they are sluggish and constantly test me like a toddler trying to do what they want. Spurs wake them up and listen to every command 🫵😎

Yes, horses are so sensitive and it's very good to know you use those shoes as a back up. Unfortunately not everyone does that

Spurs are not horse aids IMHO. Leg pressure is.

Horses can flinch from a fly’s touch. There are a lot of ways to get after a horse to get their attention without mechanical aides.
