Just starting out! I want to create content around games on Steam Deck OLED and various other devices/platforms. I am a 40 year old dad with two kids with Additional Needs and with myself going through an ADHD diagnosis I would love to share my gaming backlog journey with similar minded people.
Starting out, I think most of my reviews and content will be written on social media, Protondb, and Store reviews. However, from time to time I will post gameplay videos on TH-cam and TikTok.

Echoes of the Plum Grove - Steam Deck Gameplay

Only just bought this game on Steam and played for about 30 minutes on and off as my kids are home from school today and so far it looks amazing.
The devs said the art style was heavily inspired by Paper Mario games and it shows but it works and they have done it VERY well.
There are very few graphics settings but it doesn't matter because it plays great on Steam Deck OLED. There are a few minor dips in FPS here and there, may be shaders loading but I haven't noticed any pop-in or significant slow down.
It doesn't have controller support (hopefully coming soon) but you can configure your own settings via the Deck and it's a pretty standard affair with touchpad control, left stick to move, R2 for left mouse clicks, etc. Will take a little bit of getting used to but didn't feel clumsy to me.

I think what a lot of people fail to realize including me is that just because we’re in 2024 doesn’t mean every game is gonna be mind blowing with the best graphics out there. developers still need time and money and the necessary resources to be able to make a game with mind blowing graphics which this game obviously did not have. Despite 2024 this game looks like it was developed two decades ago. Shame.

Mine was showing black/blue screen.
I used Proton Experimental straight off the bat and it worked first time for me.
Had the same experience and was hoping to have another good "life-sim" added to the library... There's no reason it should be this unoptimized for how horrible it looks on the lowest to mid settings. Games on the friggin switch look next-gen in comparison! Hell, even American/Euro Truck Sim blows this out of the water!

Yep, it should maintain a perfect 30 at low and for what the game is, it should be running steady at 45 - 60 on medium really
