Palo Verde beetle, grows up to 3 1/2” long, eats Palo Verde tree roots as a grub, lives for about a month after it emerges, it mates and lays its eggs and then dies. They are harmless to humans and animals. This one surprised me by , almost immediately spreading its wings and flying away.

Cold start with new battery

Trying to chase down a hot starting issue. I first thought it was a weak battery, so I installed a new one. The bike starts well when cold but when it got hot I would start having problems. This turned out to be a failed electronic ignition. I installed a new Boyer Bransden ignition and it cured it.

      @@kwas99 Thanks! I removed the tail light housing and spliced the brake light wires right there, I used bullet connectors so it could easily be replaced or removed. The modulator fit in a cavity on the underside of the tail light. If you don’t want to remove the tail light assembly you could access the wiring harness under the seat and mount it somewhere in there, I had considered that option. Good luck with your install! 😉

    With that windshield, where does the wind hit your helmet? And does your line of sight vision go over top of that windshield? I have a C50 and am considering the Switchblade but not sure what size I want. Thanks!

    • @bob7230
      @bob7230 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rks475 Hello, I am 5’9” and I look over the top of the windshield, which is my preference, I really don’t like looking through a bug splattered or dirty windshield. This mid height windshield is a good compromise between wind protection and style, because you kind of sit down in the Boulevard the mid height does a good job of protection without feeling like you’re riding behind a barn door. As far as where the wind hits me, it is right across the top of my full coverage helmet, and that happens mostly over 55 mph. I can for sure hear wind noise , but I wear ear plugs so that’s not an issue. But I get no annoying buffeting. I had a Memphis Shade windshield on a BMW that had such severe buffeting that it would actually blur my vision at highway speeds. Bottom line, if maximum wind protection is your desire, get the bigger shield. If you want to look over the top and keep the wind blast off of your body, I can whole heartedly recommend the mid height. Good luck to you whichever way you go. Thanks for watching, -Bob

    overall, do you think this is a good product, or no?

    • @bob7230
      @bob7230 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For light use , yes. I restored a couple of old motorcycles and used this ultrasonic cleaner for cleaning carburetors and all sorts of hardware. It does a good job. The tank is on the small side and sometimes I had to partially submerge , run it , then rotate the part to get it all clean. After a couple of years the outer plastic housing cracked, but it kept working. Don’t think that it will clean internal passageways on carburetors though, you still have to clear those with carburetor spray. It did a really good job on gunky hardware. If you plan to use it a lot, I would look for one with a stainless steel housing and a larger interior. 👍🏻

    • @bob7230
      @bob7230 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, the windshield is the mid height Switchblade by National Cycle. If you’re looking for maximum protection, you might be happier with the full height windshield. At speeds under 55-60 mph it is great, at higher speeds I get a small amount of buffeting ( I’m 5’9” ) it doesn’t really bother me as I wear a full coverage helmet with ear plugs. It does a great job of taking the pressure off of my body and I can easily look over the top. I really like it!

    Is that windshield the "Chopped" or "Shorty" version. And the crash bars is that the "fatty" 1.5 inch or "regular" 1.25 inch? Thanks.

    • @bob7230
      @bob7230 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The windshield is the “Chopped” item # N21423 ( 15.2 “ from headlight cutout to top of the screen ) for this windshield you have to buy the quick release mounting kit separately , part number is , KIT-Q202. This set up is not cheap but it is very high quality in fit and appearance. The same thing goes for the crash bar, you can buy inexpensive bars on EBay, but you can see the difference in quality. The crash bars are the Cobra regular 1.25 inch , part number should be 01-1325. Verify the numbers for yourself before ordering anything. Something I found when I was looking for accessories is that , Suzuki has been making this model for so long that some places don’t update their catalog when they say what model years they fit. The last major change to this bike was back in 2009 when they made the bike fuel injected and some other physical changes. So almost all parts that will fit a 2009, will fit everything from then up until now. Are you currently putting together C50 for yourself? -Bob 😎
