Found a killer deal on a CJ5 last week. Dauntless v6 power, lockers front and rear and just chocked full of vintage old man mods

Now that's what we call as a JEEP❤
Probably a funny question but what are the chances that this is a 1951 that came from a farm in Powersville Missouri, and was restored in the 60 to 70s by someone who bought it from the farm?
Jeep came from Nevada not sure where it was before that. Got it from an estate sail not much paperwork. It is going to be for sale soon. Is there any identifying things i could look for to tie it to that jeep?
@@uglyjeeps no, unfortunately I don’t have anything like a vin, or any major identification, all I know is it’s 1951 cj3a, originally orange, with a Jee cab, than repainted reddish orange with a black soft top, and no PTO, or snow plow…
@@brileybates2039 Gotcha. I believe this one was the dark red color to began with.
Sick jeep love this song
I had a '68 CJ5 with the Dauntless just after high school. That dauntless was a great engine, sounded mean too. I still regret selling that Jeep.
She should have Ppe on a young girl.
Awesome what motor? Buick?
Ford 289
Don't know how I missed this video. You definitely put that Belleview winch to the test lol
Ugly Jeeps are nice to look at and own. I have a 1942 MB.
I would drive that for sure
Nice 🤘👍
Promo'SM 😆
Flat Fenders rule!
What transmission and transfer case are you using
Ford top loader 4speed transmission and a dana 18 tcase
Looks like a 225 V6 engine and that's a perfect choice. The 231 V6 not odd fire as the 225 is odd fire.
They actually did make a 231 odd fire from 75 to 77 in the Buick cars. The 231 odd fire shares all the same parts except the valve covers are shaped different
This is the first time watching your channel and I have subscribed, I really enjoyed this episode and will follow up with others. You’ve done in the past.
Awesome, thank you!
I’m not into the old man mods, but I would leave them because they are part of the history of the Jeep. They tell a story that cannot be duplicated. If only the jeep could tells us all the old story’s.
We left it mostly as it is, we did rewire and took out a few of the gauges. It’s been sold to a new owner but we will be building him a cage and putting on a hard top soon
I've got a '66 with a Dauntless. It's just a plow Jeep for now. I'm curious to see the progress on this Jeep. I'd like to do something other than plow with my Dauntless. But I have to get my '48 CJ2A back on the road first.
We will be doing a few things from time to time. The jeep has sold to a friend but it’s still at our shop waiting for a hard top and a roll cage.
I just don’t see why this stuff isn’t made in USA. MD Juan needs to sell the rights or whatever needs to happen to get these parts made here; and made right.
I wish i had the funds to get a USA only made Jeep parts factory. Honesty the biggest problem i have is the quality of the steel. It sucks to weld, it sucks to work. The fit and finish of some items is ok for most restorations but it just takes more time to get it right
@@uglyjeeps i bought an aftermarket front cj “original” bumper… and I know exactly what you mean… a drill bit flew through it like melted butter… extremely soft metal…
I think i'd clean it up and pass it on. I also have too many projects, tough decision though.
Yep since the making of this video a few weeks ago and close friend made me a offer i couldn’t refuse. We are going to be still working on it for him to get it ship shape but that will be after a few other things are done
But why such a name as 'ugly jeeps'....these are beautiful machines that have stood the test of time
It’s a long story basically just ironic at this point
Motor views please?
Sorry it has been sold
Thanks for showing this. Got a cj5 tub. Trans tunnel is off a good bit. Other than that most of it seems ok.
We have used a few of their tubs and they are getting better but the metal is just so far behind our standards that it’s hard to weld and shape takes way longer to work the dents out for sure.
@@uglyjeeps haven't welded on this one yet. 1 cowl dent to address and a slight amount of welding to do so thank you for that info. Looked again and not sure about that trans tunnel. Need to get back on it.
Engine sound
Very nice work gentlemen
Now that's living life. 😊
30’s or 31’s? Been two months video?
Things have been slow on the youtube side of my life. working on a few things for the next month hoping to get it done soon.
Oddfire power!👍
Willys are the coolest
You say it's complete where is it located at
Coos Bay Oregon
Its worth the 2500. Empty pockets here
Think god they have detailing shops.... where you can pay someone else, to do that type of awful work.... not having to touch it yourself l o l...
Does it work?
I’d love to do something like that someday
Running condition?
It looks like a rolling chassis with no drivetrain from the video. You can see daylight through the hole in the firewall
It’s a rolling chassis, does have a fresh rebuilt engine that comes with it.
te hace recordar que tienes que arreglarlo!
What's up with the flames? Trying to figure that out. :)
Brake clean fire lol
@@uglyjeeps🤣🤣 Awesome!
Your music tastes are getting better with each video.
Thanks!
Great song this time dude
I have been feeling this music a lot lately.
Also thinking of running this on my 46
