How r they holding up
I was thinkin bout doin a one inch on my 2020 I had a 2.5 before without upper control arms or anything an it wore my tires on the outside. So I wouldn’t go above 2” for sure
Did you get aftermarket control arms?
No I didn’t
@@mrcrown9657ok thanks thinking about getting some put on Sunday
@@SBG_ARMS I’m probably gonna get a bigger spacer I didn’t think it made a difference
Dude you gotta measure the same side as you did before you installed… Toyotas are about half an inch lower on the driver’s side, check the other side and I bet it’s an inch higher
Lol. It could barely get one started. Typical underpowered panther
Here is a tip for you Tundra owners who have the TRD skid plate and need to mount the security shield underneath it. Do Not install the side shields first, install them AFTER you have the main shield install 100%. If you install the side shields first, you will not have access to the front two top nuts.
Then, what do you do if you have to perform a service?
@@robertwaidman4170 The only service it will affect is a transmission fluid drain and fill, which can go 100,000 miles before that needs to happen.
Before the shim you measured the passenger side. And i heard the driver side has a lean so you probably did get a full inch.
Man I would like to at least drive one wish I still had my job and good credit smh 😢
Amazing work my boy!! Thanks for sharing!!
Those headlamp/ housings are insanely cool!!
eBay 😎
Do you think i can reuse my oil pan gasket if its only like a e months old
I think it’ll be fine
Any problems with the inside of the car getting hot because of more trapped heat from the cats? I keep hearing about this issue..
Good question never thought about it,guess I’m just more worried about protecting cats. I do live in dessert heat and so far haven’t noticed anything weird.
@@mrcrown9657 cool man...thanks for the response...I've been looking for a good shield too and keep coming across that question with no definitive answer..if u haven't noticed anything then I'm sure it's all good...
Yea I’m very happy with this shield Good quality and easy install
Make some braces for those back covers so they can't just pull it, and bend it. The braces don't have to look pretty just functional. IJS
How do you drain the oil once it’s installed?
Cover is not in the way Oil pan is more towards the front.
This wasn't even detailed like it should have been 😞, the instructions provided aren't complete. How did you get the square washers into the rear frame? How did you get the locking nuts into the rear section frame and counterhold them to tighten??? That's the most important part of this whole setup, the rest is obvious and super easy. That section is purposely omitted from the instructions and from yourself.. I didn't give this a thumbs up sorry
The instructions provided are pretty self explanatory and once you open package everything comes together real easy, if you need further understanding you might need to consult a professional for installation
Thanks for the video, just ordered for my Tundra.
Will you make a vide of your install? im needing more information on the drilling part.
Will this interfere with the trd pro plate?
So the point of this is to avoid taking the oil pan off or are you just swapping the gears inside? Either way I like the information.
exactly that!! How to remove pump without removing oil pan And for that you have to remove gears unfortunately.
@@mrcrown9657 ok thank you!!!
Looking for a copy of these instructions, misplaced it and customer service is slow.
i would have welded the rear covers to the plate the used pop rivets..
What aluminum thickness did you get 1/8 or 3/16?
3/16”
Video was too dark to really see anything
Where did you get it?
Getcatsecurity.com
Would have liked to see the actual instal process but thanks for the video you did make. No one will break the secondary shield off. If you could it certainly deserved it. Any half wit thief that crawls under there and sees that is moving on. Considering it wouldn’t be in back stands, you can get underneath but to have your face against that plate by either trying to cut it off or unbolt it is extremely unlikely. Good product. Did you use a rivet nut gun?
Can you show the front between skid plate and the shield?
Yea I’ll take some pics
@@mrcrown9657 awesome:) thank you!
Does it still allow access for maintenance oil changes?
Yes regular oil changes no problem Transmission service probably gotta remove it.
I wonder the percentage of Tundra guards that are cut through the same.
Do you need to remove the skid plate to do oil change?
Nope
Question, what ton floor stand did you use to hold up your truck?
They are 2ton from harbor freight
@@mrcrown9657 Thanks
Hello, did the install require a Rivet Nut tool? Something extra I would have to buy? Thanks
No u don’t have to buy tool In the kit they provide a bolt and nuts to install rivet, u do need a drill though to make holes
@@mrcrown9657 Thanks for the info. Very helpful
@@mrcrown9657 what size of bit did you use? I just received mine. So for sure no rivet tool?
@@josevaldez818 I would have to check my paperwork work, but I’m sure it was 7/8” Should say in your instructions what size bit And it also comes with bolt and two nuts to install rivets if u don’t have tool.
Just received mine today. It doesn’t fit 21TRD PRO TUNDRA.
Wow really!!?? What’s the difference I can’t imagine being that much difference? Can u make different holes and make it work?
Online it says for 2007-2021 4wd Tundra It just doesn’t say witch model.
I wonder if it works on 19 tundra trd sport but i got a leveled kit and trd skid plate, i called them & waiting for an answer before order it.
@@Clubcaguamaso That's also my concern if compatible or needs specific hardware to bolt in with a TRD skid plate. I checked their website and closed today.
@@svrblk777 they call me back, they said it fits, it's on the way, hope fits, one way to find out😅
I want that EXACT exhaust system. What is it? Could you transfer it to a crown vic p71?
I just did an exhaust delete Straight pipe basically But it still has cats and resonator tips
Just got mine today and about to install it.
Will you make a vide of your install? im needing more information on the drilling part. What did you use to drill size of bit?
Just FYI, those rear “cats” are really just resonators. They’re NOT what the thieves are looking for and have zero value if stolen. The actual catalytic converters come off the exhaust manifolds.
Your right, but some of these thieves probably don’t know and they’ll just try to cut them too. Just wanted the full assurance I guess.
@Mrcrown you right about that. All four of mine was stolen. 2021.
@@blazindaz dang bro that sucks!!! These MF thieves don’t care they just cut everything!!! I despise people like that. Hopefully insurance will cover that?
@@blazindaz same shit happened to my 2021 Tundra. Bastards.
Do you have a link? thx
getcatsecurity.com
@@mrcrown9657 thank you 🙏
What site did u get it? And does it fit a 2011 tundra?
Getcatsecurity.com
Yes kit fits 2007-2021
@@mrcrown9657 thank you so much!
Thank you for showing this.
Hard-core. 👌🏼🇦🇺
I bought the kit for my 2010 Toyota Sequoia and you do not need to drill the front two holes for the rivet nuts. Just use the existing holes.
Your right, I just had to make hole slightly bigger to fit rivet in
Thanks for the critique of the rear cat covers. Is there some way to strengthen them to make them less flimsy?
I’m sure there’s a way But I haven’t looked into it Just noticed it when i was under truck
Great video! We would love to do a collab with your channel using any of our kits if you're interested! -TORCH
Interesting! Let me check out your website
I have a 04 GTO what type of springs she's setting on
I believe it’s the same They all had that issue with weak springs
How long did it take you to complete the install from start to finish?
I would say around 2 hrs Including putting on jacks and setting up
You skipped over what I wanted to see.......the actual drilling, riveting and installation onto the frame. How was it all?
I know man, so sorry i was excited :) But no worries if you do decide to buy kit They come with detailed instructions on where to drill holes.
Hey did you drill into the frame?
Yes, 4 7/16” holes for rivets
Here is another option. No need to drill into your frame. It’s what I installed in my Tundra and my sequoia facebook.com/catalyticconverterplates/
So how do these springs feel? Any change in ride comfort?
World of a difference!!! Doesn’t squat when u punch it And looks way better too Doesn’t sag on the rear
Thank you for making this, I now have to look into getting one of these because mine just got stolen.
Oh man sorry to hear that :( Yea definitely worth it
Everything was good information but you didn't talk about shimming the gear. Also instead of using that washer you should buy a $6 pickup tube griddle.
Best way is taking the oil pan out !!!
I got the same Tahoe 5.3 but main is a flex fual is it the same with out remove the timeing
Yes
