The "uh" counter actually happened; I feel seen. Also, these gameplay videos make me want to try Celeste. For whatever reason, as I grew up, 3d games began to give me motion sickness. I should try platformers.

It's not Undertale-inspired by the way, this game is from 2004 and Undertale from 2015.

12:23 i had a hard time figuring out wavedashes (it took me a couple hours to get through the first wavedash-wavedash-wallbounce room after the tutorial), but started getting the hang of it once i started thinking of it as a sort of rhythmic "ker-chunk" motion. i press b/circle with the base of my thumb for the dash (key) and roll the tip onto y/triangle for the jump (chunk). i think in my case i was hitting jump too fast, and the ker-chunk analogy may have helped slow me down, but it also seemed to serve as an intuitive rhythmic reference that i could use the make the timing more consistent and more natural.

The heck, i thought you would have much more subscribers, quality content :)

At 7:48 the jack could have gone on the queen.

One tip for wavedashing is to hold off on jumping. Don't press jump immediately after hitting the ground. Wait a few extra frames. The wavedash timing is more lenient than you'd think even if you're late.

Celeste is easily one of my favorite games. It's fun to just speedrun through levels and see how much better you are than the first time you played. My first Core b side took 1.5 hours and now I have a time of 8 minutes.

As an auteur of Celeste Sunday, I will, unfortunately, have to boycott this series 😔😔
