TINY HOUSE: Family of SIX live in 500 SQ FT Conestoga log cabin! 2 adults and 4 kids!
มุมมอง 45K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Our family has lived TEMPORARILY in a 500 sq ft cabin for nearly 2 years. We live on 13 acres and purchased this property with the goal of saving up to build on! We are finally working on that project and it should be done in Spring 2021. But for the time being, we are still in our wood cabin and we still have a lot of love for our little tiny house! Follow us @GroveLadderFarm or search #pastur...
In central florida looking for info and decide if this is for me
Do you guys sell live sheep? I was wondering where can we bye Florida cracker breed , ewe and a ram and ship them here to Texas
Works until the kids get older. I would need my privacy. There would be no baby making happening for me with the kids in the loft.😂
Interesting.
You live with 5 women in a 500 sq ft tiny home and you have your sanity. You should win a free 50 sq ft man cave.
our ancestors could do it and still build a nation. Way to go guys!
How is the meat quality? Is it lean or more fatty? How's the taste?
Super informative!
Good luck💗 .
What kind of grass is that? Sorry if I’ve asked before
America's distaste for mutton began during WWII as soldiers in Europe were fed mutton often, frequently it was the only meat available. The soldiers that did return home told their wives they never wanted to eat mutton again, and that was the death knell for the southern sheep industry.
Hi, I’ll be working with these sheep soon and I’d love to know if you’ve worked with the work since making this video. Thanks!
Wtf
I want to get something to eat my grass! I have an acre of land fenced in
We live nearby and are excited to find your farm since after living in italy we always had organic eggs we didn’t refrigerate and fresh veg and fruits… we are hoping to get good food here too…. I signed up so will get to meet you soon! Thanks so much for all your hard work 🛵🛵
I think I see Dallis grass, but do you graze Bahia as well?
Wish you’d milk them just as an experiment and for a new vid subject! Hoping to see more of the sheep :)
This is so awesome 👌🏼
Thank you for making these videos for a clear understanding! I hope to visit soon!
We live in Arcadia, Fl as well and I just found you guys online while looking for local farm animals for sale.... And now it brought me here!! It's amazing what you guys have worked so hard to be self- sufficient and beyond! Great motivation for us today the same. We will surely be visiting and introducing ourselves.
You can always tell when folk just raised their so-called "Livestock guardian dog" as a house pet that got thrown outside after 6 months... Just like not every border collie chasing livestock in a field is automatically a herding dog, your pyrenees is not a livestock guardian dog simply because you throw him outside in a field with some animals. My neighbor's "purebred AKC registered livestock guardian dog" spends most of its time getting into trashcans and begging to be let into a house as it was not actually raised as part of their livestock's "herd." These dogs look desperate to do the same, but they're stuck inside a fence. Lovely dogs, very sweet. But livestock guardians? Take the fences down and we'll see about that. Hope the same mistake isn't made with the next dogs in your herd.
Do you harvest their milk at all?
Love the house !!
Are you guys Orthodox Christian, out of curiosity? I saw some icons.
I realllly want Florida cracker/gulf coast natives, but I just don’t wanna deal with the wool lol. Hair sheep for me, but I’m also trying to breed in some dairy genetics, so I’ll get stuck with the wool either way I suppose. Can’t wait until they start breeding dairy sheep that shed out.
Love it . we used to live in small home and we made it work. We move because when market crash we found a old home for 19. Blessings
I like the laundry idea
If I had to share a space with my sibling I would have gone nuts! We were like Tom and Jerry in the past. To each his own naturally and they are used to it I suppose. Maybe a strange question. How much would an 'extention' to the cabin cost? You know to build a little more space. Just a thought. At least a room for 2 children each.
woah i like this house, i hope your family always be happy
That works for now, but what happens as the kids get bigger? Need a better sleeping arrangement.
We've already built it ;) As it says in the description, this was only a temporary living situation.
Very cool!! Love that you care enough about your kids and their education, to home school them, as opposed to poisoning their minds with the scourge that is public "education" (i.e. Marxist indoctrination). God bless, and keep up the good work!!❤️🇺🇸

You need so much more room for your family
everything went a little silent around the dish conversation.
I live in central FL, we have a 10 acre homestead/farm and we are wanting to add cracker sheep to our farm! Mainly as a meat animal but I also enjoy spinning and knitting so the fiber aspect is very exciting to me.
Thanks for this video! I'm new to sheep and just curious if you've ever milked your sheep? How is their milk production?
I bought the half share and its great buy. Thanks again Tim
I've always wondered why lamb is more expensive than beef when they are smaller animals? And why can't I find round bone cuts anywhere in the state of Florida 😭
I love your home tour ❤️
Is your husband single lol
So it looks like you are using only one foot on a double treadle wheel where I am wishing the single treadle SR wheel I am buying used was double treadled.
Yes! I never use both feet with this Saxony style wheel because it creates horrible pain in my shoulder! Enjoy your wheel as it is, you would probably need a physical therapist if you had a double treadle Saxony wheel- that's how I feel afterwards anyhow! A castle style wheel is completely comfortable double treadle tho
@@groveladderfarm4105 wow, I wonder why it would affect your shoulder?
What ratio on the whorl are you using? Also it looks like you for spinning with S twist is that correct? Did you knit or weave with the yarn? Sorry for so many questions but just received 4oz Florida Cracker wool that had said “ cloud” and to me it looks like it’s been through a picker?? I will be hand carding it.
I love this!!!!
Bless your family. Lovely home and happy family. I love the simple design. This is what real home looks like. 🌹🌹🌹
Great home tour! We currently live in a 900 SQFt pole barn that is combined living space, water storage, laundry room and garage space. The challenges are real but with organization and using vertical space it helps. I love how open your place looks with your kitchen/living/work space still. And the dishes- I totally get you- our sink is so tiny it’s overflowing after a few dishes so I’m always doing dishes. Thanks so much for sharing!
Very cool to watch the sheep being sheared laying down, I had only seen them sheared with their shearer standing and the sheep being layed back sitting on the shearers feet and leaning against the shearer. I was gifted a Rick Reeves spinning wheel from the son of a man who worked in Rick Reeves shop before he closed it. The wheel had been kept in my friends home as a show piece for years and never used. He moved out of state and being single, didn’t want to pack it for traveling out of state (cross country), so he gifted it to me. The only double drive I’ve ever spun on. It spins nice but I’m use to the scotch tension on my Kromski Polonaise, so I’m getting use to the different tensioning system ;). Had to find someone to make 2 more bobbins because I only had one and unless someone is selling theirs, because Sachet/Reeves doesn’t make them for Ricks older wheels, it’s hard to find them. Found someone on Etsy who makes them and made them exactly perfectly so I’m learning. Any tips for tensioning on the double drives?
Wonderful operation. We enjoyed our recent visit and learning about your operation. We are enjoying our 1/4 cow share as well.
Wouldn’t it be nice if Best Nesting Box integrated a removable/replaceable tray for the egg catchers. Instead of picking up each egg, you lift out a tray and replace it with an empty tray. The full tray slides into a mobile cart for transporting to washing and packing. Excellent operation. Thank you for the video.
That would be pretty awesome! I’ve never thought of that!!!
I love Sunni's huge yawn while Chelsea is earnestly describing what we are about to see. "Yeah, yeah, Mom..." 😁 But seriously, a fascinating demo throughout. Thank you so much for sharing it.
That’s Tim’s favorite part too! Lol, “farm life yadayadayada mom”
I’m so glad to see Florida Cracker fiber featured as prepared and dyed roving 🙌🏻 I’m sure you know this but for anyone else who might not know, if you have a compacted roving and would prefer a smoother spin with less texture, I recommend you either re-card it or comb it. Either way, beautiful fiber and happy sheep 🐑🙌🏻
Yes thank you- I definitely should have said this! ❤️❤️❤️
we have a very small flock. Im curious, do you trim the flight feathers? With our reds, we do, with our brahamas, we dont (they are heavy birds) I love the simplistic and calmness of your homestead.
Thank you! I used to trim flight feathers, but we don’t trim any feathers any more.
