Always amazes me that departements like this are still using those huge trucks despite their dense traffic situation. There are way more compact alternatives like the Rosenbauer RTX or other european manufactures .
As a former driver/operator there's no wAy I'd want to drive in that freaking city
@@RobertSimpson-b2j oh heck no! It looks like hell.
I like NYC but if i was a firefighter there, NO WAY i would drive in that city
What camera do you use ?
@@onlynexg301 in this video I used a Sony Handycam HDR CX-160, however I now currently use a Panasonic HC-V800.
It is amazing that these units can get through that traffic
@@michaelfowler3042 oh absolutely.
Nice catches man! Also is Yonkers still using their Spare ladder?
@@AdenGonzalez-if6hb thank you so much! And I’m not sure, there’s 6 ladders in the department, and I think 71 might be in a spare? But I’m not 100% sure.
@ your welcome!
So glad i don't spend my life in traffic like that!
Oh absolutely.
In reality, what does all that noise do? Not much evidently.
Unfortunately no, but hey- it works in places that respect emergency vehicles!
Nice video, new sub
Thank you so much, I really hope you enjoy my content! ^v^

What is the old ladder in the beginning in service don't they have a new one
That video was taken towards the beginning of 2024. Before they got that ladder replaced.
Pole in station?
No unfortunately, if I’m not mistaken poles were outlawed a while ago as per the NFPA.
@@enjoythesiren911 Why? Boston's latest fire station (E17 and L7) has 3.
@ y’know, that’s great question! Unfortunately I really have no idea.

Dang that Ladder Q Siren is cool
Oh absolutely! Definitely caught me be surprise when they started using that siren!
There we go!!
Heck yeah!!
Both trucks with later siren and light upgrades... No suprise. However, these old E-ones are still going strong... Something that people should not be complaining about.
Oh absolutely, I’m a huge fan of these older trucks and it always amazes me to see them still in use like this.
@@enjoythesiren911 Well, it is nice, except for the lime truck with the Whelen.... TRASH. At least Chicago still rocks the old lights and Motorola on the old E-one and Seagrave ladders.
@ honestly agreed, the whelen siren definitely threw me off, was NOT expecting that.
@@enjoythesiren911 I was expecting the newer PA300s that the majority of the Newark trucks would have.... But, apparently, they cheaped out for this lime rig.
@ yeah it appears so, it’s the only rig without the newer PA-300.
awesome!!
Thank you so much! ^v^
Great catch, unfortunately the Manhattan traffic is a #*$CH
Thank you! And yeah midtown traffic does suck a lot. Very grateful for these firefighters.
So what is this? A parade video? Kinda sad when a pedestrian can beat EMS to the scene 😔
what emergency service are you talking about? the only civilian EMS service i know is haztolah, please elaborate
Im quite confused on what you mean, but if you are talking about why EMS took so long to arrive on scene it’s because of.. well.. y’know. Traffic. Because it’s midtown.
@@enjoythesiren911. Being sarcastic. That's ridiculous that an EMS vehicle has to be there that long when people have ample time to move
@@Jim-z7y1roooh ok I See, thank you for clarifying! Yeah it is ridiculous, people see lights and sirens and everyone shuts their brains off, and as a firefighter myself it’s really irritating to watch.
What do you expect? It’s NYC. It would be physically impossible for there to be “light” traffic in NYC at any given time for a “normal” response time. Well, I guess a 10-20 minute response time for a call that isn’t that far away is normal, but.
wow! so much action!! 🔥💥✨
Oh absolutely!!
Any information if all this vision zero and bike lanes have increased FDNY response times???
To be honest I’m not sure, but if I had to ponder about this, I’d say yes- it has.

Beautiful catches. Just beautiful. That Federal Q makes my heart flutter-in such a good way❤😍 also, there's my favorite, Tower Ladder 12!
Thank you so much! And heck yeah that Q definitely caught me by surprise! And yeah tower 12 is pretty dang awesome!!
Not being rude but the Q they use I called a QB2
@@Allegheny_responding federal Q2B siren. the ones on FDNY units are actual federal model 28 sirens, basically mini q sirens
@ I mean, most people call them QB2
Did Ladder 4 get a Q siren?
Must have it sounds so good
@GdubCollectionsI agree😍
Yes ladder 4 got a Q siren a few years ago in 2022.
Great catches!
Thank you so much! ^v^
Beautiful new station! I love that it's very clearly a newly built building but still retains design elements of early 1900s architecture, much like the old hall and the buildings around it! Nice response catch too!
Oh absolutely! As a big architect nerd I love seeing new buildings honoring early 1800-1900s designs! Thank you so much for the comment! ^v^
Does it actually respond to calls or is it just for (show)
Well normally this truck wouldn’t have the HESS designs and is usually just a regularly in-service truck. However when the department does these parades, they will decorate the rear mount (as they have two ladders) and it is USUALLY on standby for calls while the other ladder does the parade.
@ ok makes sense now thank you
@ of course! Glad I could help.
Ha! There's a tennis ball hanging from that ladder!😆 that's grand
Old school way to help the operator know where the tip of the ladder is when the ball hits the edge of the building. Not easy to judge when it's near full extension.
@tfefire aha! Yeah, I figured it was something like that.. my grandfather used to have a tennis ball hanging from the ceiling in the garage to gage how close to the wall he was getting when parking his car. When his windshield touched the tennis ball, he knew he was close enough.
Yeah! A lot of rear mount aerial trucks with an overhang like that tend to have little things like that. And that’s a really cool thing your grandfather did haha!
Great video btw
Thank you so much! ^v^
Do you know what the adress of the new fire station is
