New Truck Driver Problems
New Truck Driver Problems. What issues do new CDL Truck drivers face when they first hit the road on their new journey? Low Pay, Shipper/Receiver Disrespect, Company Lies, Fellow Driver Disrespect, Parking? I discuss each area of these issues, though I know there are a lot more that could be named. I want to inform all new drivers of issues they may face out there in the trucking industry, but at the same time give some advice on how to overcome them.

I've been driving for a while now and I can say I completely agree with you 100%. It's tough out here and they don't respect you. That's why getting with a smaller company or doing local is pretty much a good deal. But my piece of advice I like to add don't let no one force you into something that you don't want to do
🤔🤔
I like the new direction you going with your channel
Thank you
Did you delete all you video about sfi I was watching you video now I don’t see it what happened
A while back I did when I thought I was changing this channel to a travel channel
Training with alot of the companies today is horrible. Some mega carriers have drivers with only six months to one year of experience training new drivers. It’s ridiculous.
I totally agree
When I first started backing all I knew to do was 45,90 and offset. I never even thought about 3 dimensional backing and being aware of all the space around....speaking about 3 dimensions, backing between cones or into a dock with no trucks around is hard because there is no perspective
Most new drivers never think about their surroundings. And yes those cones suck
Been with the company for over a year as a company driver and not at no .31 cents a mile. I make alil under half of what you were offered initially. But yes sometimes you go on missions to find an empty, yes if you don't have a pre plan it might take awhile for them to situate one just for you. But overall I've never experienced no real issues. My 1st truck was a 21 Pete with 210k and it was spotless inside. Flares slightly bent but, lol i added to that my 1st 3mos. But even when I switched trucks to a newer one, it had zero damage. The previous driver was a smoker so they gave me a couple hundred for supplies to get the smell out. I guess they treat Owners Ops differently than company drivers. Shouldn't give up though, you might fair better at a smaller business.
I was in trucking for almost 30 years. I’m out of it now and thankful. My son wanted to get into, but thank God I was able to talk him out of it. Like you said trucking could be a great industry. However, with the we way companies are doing things not to mention the things government is doing to ruin it. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone.
They said walk away lease, now it’s a run away lease !
If you have 6 months' experience, i drive for a company called JS Helwig and Son, and you would like it here. I just finished my 2nd year here, and i wouldn't leave unless they fired me. I average 1800 a week. 2600 being the most and just this last friday, 2100. It's a 400 truck outfit, so it isn't big nor small. They offer a 10k referral bonus with no cap, so the skys the limit. Check out my review on google. When i get my ring back with the diamond in January, im going to update my review. Eugene Rice.
Prime is where it’s at and you don’t need to stay out that long lol you make your own schedule and can go home when you want. I usually out 3 weeks then home for a week and still profit every week.
They have inward facing cameras now lol
@ yes we do and they aren’t bad at all. Allowed to drink, eat, touch gps, touch phones without any warnings or being called by safety. So what’s your point?
@barrypowers9563 i call bull. Your not allowed to touch your phone. And driver facing cameras are the death of a trucker. Any accident is now always your fault. The cameras are bad. Don't work for a company that has them
Another reason why you never lease a truck that the carrier owns, if you have the financing ability go buy one then lease to a reputable career that way you don't need permission and you are in control of your own business. Trucks are dirt cheap right now
Good video. Sad, but informative.
I was there in 2011. Company driver. 2 of us in a truck. 35 cents a mile split. 17.5 cents a mile. Plus $45.00 a week out of your check to pay off the school and hotel. Doesn't sound like they've improved since I was there. Like I said before, you dodged a bullet.
Consider yourself lucky. You dodged a bullet with PAM. They are a terrible company.
To me, it sounds like the company is hoping you get so fed up. You either walk away or pay for the repairs on THEIR equipment. Then fight forever to get your money back. Or lease a new truck?
No. It didn't have an inspection, it got a new sticker.
I was just gonna say, black mold, now you're sick, not good.
Oh my god, you have to be kidding me? Not only PAM, but a lease?
STOP. DON'T GO ANY FURTHER. PAM TRANSPORTATION IS THE WORST. GET BACK ON THE PLANE. GO HOME. FIND ANOTHER COMPANY.
Idk why anyone does lease "purchase", I never met a single person who ever ended up owning the truck. It's a scam, you seem like an intelligent man, why I'm the world? And PAM of all the carriers out there!?
Is there a ballon payment at the end of the lease?
Im with swift company driver. I have 3yrs exp. They offer me .70 mile round trip 220 per trailer 10 per stop hand unload. They will cap you at $1000 a week. The only way to make money is mentoring but that’s not much more.
And everything you said in the video happened to me too. It took 1 week from hire date for the driver leader to call me and assign me a truck. I wanted to go lease with them but wanted to try company first and see if I would be making money but I’m not making anything. I’ve been her 3mo starting new yr I will be somewhere else
The carrier for which I work, pays its referral bonus at two months, four months, six months, and nine months. That also coincidentally is when the new driver bonus is paid. This stops a driver from lying to other drivers just to get referrals. Because if a driver doesn’t stay, you don’t get paid.
Most of the YT'rs that are pushing their company, only want the views, clicks and the referrals. They don't care if you fail they just want the referral bonus from their company.
So your judging the company based on the hotel room & accommodations 😳🤔🤔🤔🤔
Not Jason
Yeah coach is a big time repeat offender in the recruiting game 🍻
i started driving with pam in 15/16. was tempted to quit several times that first year. just didnt want to after all that i and my family went through for me to get to that point. that year was crazy rough. several weeks i made less than $100 on my check. got on with a local small family owned company after that first year and never looked back.
7:56 gotta ddisagree cus i was at CRST before and as Lease you do talk to brokers book ur own freight run various load boards … every company is different
Great video
If you ever think about getting back into a truck look in to Trucks For You. They do a lot out in Atlanta and they don’t really go the places you don’t like.
@billyraines forgot to Give him that referral number. 😂 RTR
Tmc transportation is a great company. They treat you great equipment is top notch terminals are awesome
Have you ever thought these TH-camrs were just on here recruiting you, or scamming you, maybe not being very truthful and just trying to get those clicks? Have you ever fell prey to these tactics on youtube? I know I have and I just want to let everyone out there know to just BE CAREFUL with everything they hear/see on social media before making decisions.
Why in the world would you go to a starter company with all the experience you have, makes no sense you’re hustling backwards
Pam and super ego.. what did you expect.. buy your own truck and go with a small carrier
🤔 Iv'e yet to see an engine brake that you operate like a hand brake..maybe thats why you should stay away from these companies, they cant even get their trucks built right from the factory.
The new economy is going to put a lot of truckers out of business with the new tariffs Dollar Stores are not reordering certain items because of the new tariffs
If interested in leasing, hit me up and I can get you on with Hirschbach
" it's December, I'm not going to New York". Man, you don't need to lease anything. Just go get a decent job at a small carrier. There are no good leases. Those who survive live in their trucks and go where nobody wants to and grind.
They own central transport
Do not work for them!! Have you watched Mark from Trucking Answers?
If I am leasing and paying for a Truck. IT has to be in the best possible condition. I would spend as much time as possible going over the truck with a fine tooth comb. And then do a road test. And I would not except the lease until any problems have been put right. Its your livelihood thats at stake. So it has to be right.. All the best with your new endeavour.
What do u expect working at a company like that. Think outside the box. Try bay and bay.... There are so many companys out there that are decent. I work for a company delivering aluminum fencing and mold injection parts I love it
PAM is owned by Maroons, who is contacted to the mafia. They also own central transport and many other trucking companies. This is what was created when you let these companies buy up all these small carriers but never change the names. Transportation is a scam unless you know certain ppl.
It's a hotel room for crying out loud, and it's free. What did you expect, the Taj Mahal?
Leases are bad.
My son filled out an application for PAM, scheduled orientation, then didn't go, but its on his Dac report that he worked there, and they wont take it off.
Well said sir
Well my Army brother if by some chance you might be interested, I work for a company that pays by the hour on driving and on duty time. I will say this that they don't have owner operators here but when the freight gets heavy they do bring them in from outside. Now for you living close or in Atlanta they would love you if you wanted to be a company driver. I live in North Carolina myself and get home weekends.
