On Blessings and Bread you will view homemaking videos, including, but not limited to cooking demonstrations. The videos on this channel will focus on proper techniques for basic food preparation as well as how to make great country recipes for your family meals or special occasions. I will bring you along on my adventures in backyard gardening. During growing season, I will demonstrate preserving fruits and vegetables often shared by my neighbors and friends. Finally, I hope you will join me as I ponder on the porch, weather permitting, about the blessings of God and how His love for us can bring true joy and real peace to each day of our lives.
Saying Goodbye to my Green Beans. Planting Lettuce in Strawberry Pots.
It was finally time to pull up my green beans and clean up the arbor. It was a bigger task than I thought. The green beans were tightly clinging to the arbor, but I persevered and completed the task. It was like they didn't want to go away. Oreo will be sad. There will be no more green bean garden treats for her until next year.
I also planted a second crop of lettuce in my strawberry pots.
This fall garden is growing slowly. Hopefully it is just cooler weather slowing everything down. I am beginning to wonder if I need to add some fertilizer. My soil has always done great, but it may be time to give my soil another boost. I added some chicken and cow compost in the spring. @@cindymcgraw6484I would have assumed people in Missouri would also eat purple hull peas. They are similar to black eyed peas, but better. The hull turns deep purple when they are ready to pick.

I took it out about 5 hours , before I baked the cake and I wasted a lot of eggs. , because the yolk would go into the egg whites. I. Was so mad over wasting those eggs. I was telling my Aunt about it , and she ask me , did I take those eggs out ahead of time , and I said. , yes I did. And she said. , that was the reason that took place. I don't know if that was true , but , I was mad because of wasting those eggs. I'm asking you , was that the reason.??? Again. , thank you for showing this , and God Bless you. 💙💚💛🧡❤

Could it be used as a meringue on a pie? My children call a regular meringue calf slobber .
You could put this on top of a pie, but the consistency is different than meringue. You would not want to brown it the oven like a true meringue. It would melt. It would most likely do best as a cake filling between layers or a filling for cupcakes or cookies.

Planting time depends on your plating zone. I got my seeds at a local nursery.
