Handball: Why Argentina Wins Every Time This Happens

The 2022 World Cup quarter final game between Argentina and Holland wasn’t just a battle of battles, having had the most yellow cards in World Cup history, but for a game full of events, including an iconic celebration, a huge fight between both teams, four goals; two on each side, a last minute equalizer, AND a penalty shootout, one specific incident stood out of ALL these events, Messi deliberately touching the ball with his hand to try to regain possession. Critics said he should’ve gotten a yellow card for the incident, or worse, should’ve even been sent off.
Messi’s handball brought back memories of a 1986 World Cup game, also in the quarter finals, between Argentina and England. The game included maybe thee most controversial goal in football history, when Diego Maradona scored, what he himself would later describe as; La mano de Dios goal. Spanish for "The hand of God". The goal should not have stood, because Maradona scored it using his hand. And for a game that ended in a 2-1 Argentina victory - after Maradona scored another historic goal - the hand of God goal clearly helped Argentina win that game.
Funny how Maradona’s Argentine compatriot, Lionel Messi, 36 years after the 1986 World Cup Hand of God controversy, would win the 2022 Qatar World Cup with another handball incident, a good number of accusations that the referees helped him out with all those penalties, and a final vs France, that would also witness Argentina score 3 goals in the final, after Maradona’s Argentina had defeated West Germany in the 1986 Mexico World Cup final by three goals to two.
But what’s NOT funny about the accusations that the World Cup was rigged in Messi’s favor, is that the accusations are totally baseless. Comparing Messi’s handball to that of Maradona is ridiculous, because the Hand of Messi was in the midfield area and so had no major effect on play. And unlike Maradona’s Hand of God goal, Messi didn’t actually score a goal with his hand. He did, way back in 2007 in the league against Espanyol and in similar fashion to his idol Maradona, but with today’s VAR technology, he NEVER would have gotten away with it.
So Messi didn’t get away with anything in the World Cup. Unlike his idol Maradona, who got away with the Hand of God goal because there was no VAR technology in 1986. In fact, Messi and Argentina had three goals ruled out in the opening Saudi Arabia game because of VAR, Messi got slapped in the face but was given the penalty only when the referee confirmed it by VAR, and Messi had, not ONE, but TWO penalties given against him in the World Cup final vs France.
Argentina vs Holland’s Spanish referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz, throughout his career, has been speculated to be a Madridista. The guy’s decisions often benefitted Real Madrid, so in NO WAY would he favor Barcelona’s greatest ever, Lionel Messi, in the clash against The Netherlands. There was clear contact inside the box, when Dumfries used both his leg and arm to stop Argentina’s Acuna. The referee didn’t hesitate to book Messi for protesting a questionable foul. And that questionable foul, in the 10th minute of added time, gave Holland a very late equalizer to send the game to extra time. How on earth would these be the actions of a referee who wants to help Messi?!
The truth is, because Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo put themselves in a league of their own, NO ONE deserved to win the World Cup more than these two legends (chess photo). But while coach Santos would substitute Ronaldo and literally screwed Cristiano and Portugal by keeping him on the bench in the Morocco game, meanwhile, coach Lionel Scaloni kept Messi on the field for every single second of every single Argentina game. AND THAT was a major reason Argentina won the World Cup AND NOT any favors by ANY referees.

That Holland game was indeed one of the most entertaining games in World Cup history.
Couldn’t agree more. Heck of an amusing game.
He should never have left chelsea
You can't foresee the future and can't stay where you are forever. But the way things turned out when he left, then yeah, you're right, he should've stayed.
End his carreer? Hazard's carreer already ended when he left chelsea..
But when he left Chelsea he was only 28 years old! How the heck could he let that happen given his talent?! Well at least officially he ended his career after the disastrous Real Madrid era.
Coutinho might me like Harry Kane
Yeah, both players have been extremely unlucky. But at least Coutinho won a number of trophies during his career. Kane, however, remains to be 100% trophy-less without a single title.
Gyat Messi I'm sorry I had to lol
It's ok lol
It’s ok bro 😄 That’s probably what Kroos and the others were thinking, so you’re good 👍🏻
But the Argentinean keeper gave it back, while winning the world cup. While holding the golden glove trophy. An eye for an eye just makes the whole world blind, one love ❤
Hehe. With the way you put it, we’ll keep seeing this until either one side wins or both sides are even. But for the love of football, we’ll just have to digest these celebrations ❤️
I think diago is overrated in his whole carear
F crGarbage...!
He's french.. Who cares...
So he's Harry Kane's foreign twin?
Hehe 😅 I still can’t digest that Bayern Munich won zero trophies in decades the same year Kane joins them! 😅
Nah wtf
Seriously. They snitched on each other.
He is fine
Some of his methods aren’t cool but you have to give him credit for his work. Especially in a time when Man Utd, Chelsea, Bayern, and Barcelona all fired their coaches for bad results when these coaches spent maybe billions on players.
He's trash😂😂
I agree that some of his methods are not cool at all. But he does win things, despite the limited resources.
am i first
First what bro?
@@ahmedelaroussi first comment
Yeah you were, bro. Thanks for leaving a comment my man.
I think you'll find Allison was already at Liverpool when karrious played in that final. He was just injured at the time
No
Bro, Liverpool specifically went on a hunt for a new goalkeeper AFTER Karius messed up the final.
Messi goat
Totally agree 👍🏻
What Does THIS tell u about rMierda?? They usually win by sheer Luck! 🗑️....
Their football is mierda indeed. Very unenjoyable! I hope they don’t pull off another one in the champions league final.
Nice Video!
Thanks a lot, bro ☺️
If they scored the pen also Real Madrid will comeback 😂😂
Hehe 😉 You’re probably 100% right 😅 I don’t recall ever seeing them lose a final ☺️ But I’ve seen them time and again make these insane comebacks 😅
It was rigged that's why Netherlands lost on penalties 😂😂😂
I guess so bro 😂😂😂 Thanks for leaving a comment and I hope you can subscribe so we can keep growing the channel 😊
O
Video says “PROOF World Cup was not rigged” and then proceeds to make the 1st point about Van Gaal’s attitude not proof.
What about the rest of the video? Did it offer enough proof to you that the WC wasn’t rigged?
@@ahmedelaroussi 2nd point "Messi accomplished so much before the world cup so that must mean the world cup wasn't rigged..." Once again, meaningless statement, 0% proof.
@@mma28soccer4lyfe well what about the rest of the proof in the video? Did the rest of the points convince you it wasn’t rigged?
You’re channel is too small pathetic Try to change your attitude
You have to remember its brazil culture they are not cocky of disrespect thats what they do in their country so you cant say that their culture is disrespectful they shouldn't damce every single goal but there is no problem with dancing its celebratory not to get in the oppenants head
I don't think Messi ever celebrated a goal by dancing the tango or any Spanish player danced the flamenco. So while I can imagine it being totally fine that they dance samba in the streets and on the beaches in Rio De Janeiro and all over Brazil. But in a competitive space, and for 4 times during a single game, I don't think it's right. Neymar is just unprofessional and Vini shouldn't follow his advice.
Tribute to god not to the skies
Messi once said that the celebration was a dedication to his grandmother who passed away when he was 11. Maybe later on it became a tribute to God as well.
Never stop the Samba 😂🎉 you tripping ma guy
Bro in a 4-1 victory, dancing after every single goal is tooo much ☺️
Cristiana penaldo's entire career was rigged from day one . 1) 200 penalties awarded ,2) the English sporting media refusing to mention for 18 years ,that he needs 60 extra penalty attempts and 150 extra games more than messi yet Messi has better Statistics in 99 percent of Statistics. 😅 👆 His now an insult to the planets intelligence that has back fired .
I've said this on another channel, he behaves like he is the only black person on his team. I'm pretty sure his teammates prefer winning over losing to racist fan's team. If he thinks he is that good, be like Messi. Despite all the odds and the harsh tackles by Madrid player, he helps Barca destroys Madrid in his prime. At this rate, he might actually become football first Michael Jackson, he seems awfully conscious about his skin colour. Quite frankly, I don't even feel sorry for the dude. This type of dude, is the type that will trample over you if you show some form of kindness.
Good point. No one will forget Ramos' intentional kick to Messi in the 5-0 game, Pepe's deliberate step on Messi's hand, nor Messi bleeding after Marcelo's elbow to Messi's face. And after all that beating and intentional fouls, never did Messi complain. Even though Messi is Barca and Vini Madrid, still, he should learn and follow Messi's example. Thanks for commenting and please like and subscribe so we can keep growing the channel.
Vini is a superstar. He is the main man in the best team in the world along with Jude. What you are calling provoking is very common for players. Somehow the haters has created a nerrative against him by pointing anything silly he does. You don't have to make a video if you do not have anything constructive to say.
Vini being a superstar and playing for Real Madrid were mentioned in the context of how legends of the club achieved loads and loads of trophies and titles, both individual and collective. So while the video clearly mentions that Vini is a great player, I'm pretty sure that if he leaves Real Madrid today, or even in a few years, history won't remember him like it will CR7, Benzema and Raul. And as for not having to make a video ..., I think you should've listened carefully to the parts mentioning Vini being a great player, with great potential and with the end of the video giving advice to Vini that he should focus more on football so that his talent doesn't go to waste (that's constructive).
@@ahmedelaroussi Vinicius is only 23. If he plays like this (he will get even better I am sure) he will definitely surpass Benzema. Benzema was never the best striker in the world except one year may be. Vinicius is the best left winger in the world for third season in a row now.
what are you high on?
Within 10 secs i understood how stupid this video is when this guy told FOOTBALL LEGENDS SHOULDN'T DANCE. Bruh, every player and country has their own culture. There will always be idiots that spread hates on players.
It’s “said” not “told”. Speak proper English first. Unlike your stupid comment, this video is based on extensive research and information obtained from media and news outlets directly linked with the topic covered in the video. The links below reveal that a lot of people were offended by the non stop dancing. After reading them you’ll notice who’s the idiot. www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12762543/brazil-4-1-south-korea-tite-defends-dance-celebration-but-roy-keane-unimpressed-with-disrespectful-behaviour www.goal.com/en/news/brazil-tite-disrespectful-dance-moves-world-cup-south-korea/bltc77eec9b046a977c
@@ahmedelaroussi MF got hurt so bad when the truth was shown. "It's said not told". An extensive research needs to be done on your head.
@@ahmedelaroussi your type exists only to create hate on every footballers.
@@maximtheinternetbreaker4243 There was no hate here, you just didn't seem to understand the video. So it's your type who's disrespectful.
@@ahmedelaroussi Sure mate, as you say, Mr. "SAID NOT TOLD".
You're annoying me. You should change your attitude.
I’ll have to disagree in every sense. The guy already won two La ligas and a champions league. He’s winning his third La liga this year and is still on course to win another champions league title having kicked out the title holders. They beat Barcelona three time this year. All that in 5 years, he’s still 23 years old too. Provoking Athletico? What’s the problem with that, that’s how Athletico have beaten everyone through out the last 5 years under the tenure of Simeone. Is he perfect? Absolutely not, he’s young and he’s learning, but he’s hell of a talent and he gives his all on the pitch, and I’m quite sure that Ancelotti one of the greats is absolutely convinced with him. Besides the attitude is part of what he is.
i think vinicius should learn to be a bit matured
I totally agree. It’ll even make a great difference in his performance.
Vinis easily top 3 this year playing less time. Dont tell me Jude, Kane or De Bruyne because they've had more games and are less impactful on the pitch. Only player better than him I really think is Mbappe. He can get out of hand with his antics, but if we're looking at football alone, there arent too many sitting at his table
A great player, no doubt. But for a guy carrying the number 7 jersey at Madrid, he’s a far cry from CR7, and which might show that sure, he’s easily top 3, but because the guys around him aren’t really at their best. Anyways, he’ll probably be even better if he focuses more on football and less on provoking everyone.
@ahmedelaroussi No one will be CR7. CR7 was the best player ever for Madrid so our expectations have to lower. But to say he's not worthy of wearing that number given the performances he's given the past few years is out of touch
Guys don‘t forget the racism he keeps facing especially against madrid.
Racism is absolutely unacceptable in all its shapes and forms, but it should also be unacceptable the constant annoying and provoking of the rival, the rival’s bench and even the entire crowd. Vini has to change his attitude.
He is not the only black person on his team. His teammates didn't react as much as him. He should've gotten used to it by now. He played in the same fcking league for 5 years.
@@geofferydian5357 You made a good point in that Real Madrid is a team full of players with different colors and yet Vinicius is the only one getting in these situations. I really think that if he changes, it'll be much better for him.
Man, this is sooo out of touch. Omitting things that happens outside the pitch, the constant racist chanting against him, the constant fouls they commit on him and the other players never get punished for it and so on. And saying he is not a superstar yet?? You don't like him? Ok, but this is very biased. PS: Taking the opinions of Atletico and Barça players... Yeah, they're not biased at all either.
There’s no bias here and this isn’t about not liking him. I think I’ve actually loved every single Brazilian player, regardless where they played; from Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Kaka, Ronaldinho and so on and so forth. But all of these superstars were focused on nothing but football. That said, I’ve seen footage of Modric telling him to stop provoking the crowd and I’ve seen footage of Ancelloti telling him to stop complaining. Not to mention reports referring to his teammates not appreciating the constant complaints. I also recall Vini escaping a red card for an unjustified challenge at Willi Orban’s neck in last month’s Leipzig game. Racism is not acceptable under any circumstances, but Vini absolutely needs a lot of work on his attitude.
Vini is very much a super star. Worth well over a 100 mil and shines whenever he plays. Defenders fear Vini.
@@neikomccalla2623 There's no doubt he's a great player, I agree with you that a lot of defenders fear him. But the message of the video is that he can probably be even better if he 100% focuses on only football. Just like previous Brazilian legends (Pele, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Kaka, Ronaldinho, etc.) did.
@@ahmedelaroussi I admit that the thing with Orban was too much and could have been a red card. And I can understand his teammates being worried about his attitude at certain times because they don't want him being expelled, and that's part of Ancelotti's job to manage that as well. But what is not mentioned is, why has Vini reached to this point? Ever since he arrived in Real Madrid he has been ridiculed by the media and players from other teams (some journalists even made fun of him by the way he speaks imitating him as Forrest Gumb), he got bitten in the head when he was playing in Castilla, etc. always had a target in his back. Then he improved and now they can't make fun of him and they start to attack him personally because that's the only way to distract him. People have been calling him monkey, making gestures and noises, they have been saying "Vinicius kill yourself" even in games that was not against Real Madrid, they even hung up a doll by the neck with his shirt on, FFS. And so many and many more things happened to him in the last 2 years, just because he improved and proved everyone wrong when they made fun of him. And the teammates can be a bit unhappy when his attitude can be volatile, but none of them has suffered what Vini had to suffer on a personal level. That being said, ever since he came back from the injury he has been more focused and hopefully he will stay like this, unless the fans of other teams come up with something different to attack him with.
And he Should Really STOP smiling & laughing in public....
I can live with the smiles but laughing and pulling his tongue out all the time is really disrespectful.
This guy deserves Everything he Gets...!
Except for the racism, Vinicius focuses more on annoying people than on playing football so it would be foolish to expect no response.
I mean he's battling racism so he has to prove himself....but he complains on the pitch too much😢😢
We are totally against the racism, but unfortunately, Vini needs to change his attitude. Even his own teammates have told him to stop the provoking.
Excellent analysis, I hope he listens to the advice 😊
Thanks a lot. I too hope he listens and acts right. It’ll make a difference in his football.
Real Madrid 💀
The meat riding is crazy 🤣
sometimes clubs need money and have to sell a player that can get some money. also tonali couldn’t lace pirlo’s boots.
But it’s strange how Milan cashed in and just a month or so later, he’s banned from playing for a year! Sure Tonali might not know how to lace Pirlo’s boots 😅 But these youngsters often need time to mature. Or maybe people miss the great Pirlo that they just compared him to a nobody! We’ll see what happens.
Don't worry, bayern is not gonna win anything this season either.
