Packrafting and Exploring 3 days alone in Southern Sweden
► About the Adventure:
Just last week I went on a solo packrafting adventure, exploring southern Swedens biggest natural lake. I was in the area and lucky to have my friend Finn from @butwhatsoutthere to give me his packraft for a couple of days. I loved the idea to combine hiking and paddling to explore your surroundings.
It was very spontaneous, so I didn’t bring a camping stove, no tent, no water filter.. but always nice to spend some time alone with yourself in nature.

Hi Phil, thanks for the info! Were you able to charge your phone and camera at the unmanned huts?
Hey taamsie, glad it could help :) I mainly charged my stuff with my 28k powerbank. But during the season however, you can charge your electronics in the huts. During off season you need to be lucky that there is still gas for the generator.. if you go in early October you should be able to charge them with the rest of the fuel left :)

Naja, viel Packrafting gibt es leider nicht zu sehen. Da hatte ich wohl falsche Erwartungen, der Titel hat mehr versprochen. Dennoch ein nettes Video.

@@philhamann420 Mist… eigentlich sah es nämlich entspannt aus und du auch nicht zerstochen, aber das hört man von Schweden im Sommer ja leider immer wieder. Aber sieht dennoch richtig gut aus. Vom Boot aus fängt man da eigentlich sicher was, und dann auf ner einsamen insel nen frischen Fisch grillen, mega 😍 Und nen neuen UL Rucksack hast du, oder? Was ist’s geworden?
@@einfach_rausfahren Joa.. meine Knöchel haben noch zu kämpfen :D aber ich kam recht schnell in Akzeptanz.. VS gefühlt 10.000 Mücken wird der Arm irgendwann ehh schlapp haha. Jo, gutes Auge! Habe mir einen custom pack von Atom Packs machen lassen. Neben den Optionen beim Erstellen, finde ich sehr nice dass er bei nur 0,9kg bis 18kg tragen soll. Eig noch nicht gesehen davor. Hab selbst den arctic trip mit Eistool, Seil.. damit gemacht. Aber kostet auch + zoll..
@@philhamann420 den hab ich auch im Auge, oder hyberg/liteway. Mich schreckt der zusätzliche Zoll noch ab und leider auch die lange Wartezeit. Hab die Drops jetzt immer verpasst

Thanks for sharing this. What happens if you turn up at a refuge without a booking? Will they allow you to pitch your own tent?
Hey Stuart, it costs 6 euros if you want to put up your own tent, or 10 euros if you want to hire one of their tents with mattresses. If there is space left to setup your tent, you can just do it without pre booking I guess. Even if there is no place left.. no one will tell you to hike further in the evening or have you to sleep in a bush without a tent :D
Bist du alles in Barfußschuhen gelaufen? Wenn ja: Mich würden deine Erfahrungen interessieren. :-) Tolle Bilder!
Hey Sali, schön dass es dir gefallen hat. Ich trage tatsächlich ausschließlich Barfußschuhe, demnach auch auf allen Wanderungen :) Vorteile: Weniger Verletzungs-(umknick-)Risiko, mehr Sinneswahrnehmungen, was den Untergrund angeht (einzelne Steine etc, sowie der Unterschied zwischen Wiese/Schotter... werden deutlich bemerkt. Dadurch wird der Fuß ebenfalls mehr durchblutet (und hat Platz dafür), was zu weniger erschöpften Füßen am Ende des Tages führt. Ausserdem fühlt sich ein leichter, an den Fuß angepasster Schuh wesentlich freier an finde ich. Und als letztes baut sich deine Muskulatur, welche du zum "normalen" laufen benötigst wieder auf, was dich stabiler macht. Das sollte man jedoch langsam in Angriff nehmen, bevor direkt eine große Wanderung unternommen wird :) LG

@@ludwigwittgenstein2422 The sources at the huts are fresh water springs. Most people drink it (me too) without filtering. I thought (during offseason) it was very nice actually. When it comes to rivers… I would use a filter because there are pigs, cows and other animals roaming around 💩 Habe fun on your adventure :)

Hey Phil, super schönes Video über den GR20! Ich plane grade auch meinen Trip für dieses Jahr und bin über etwas gestolpert: an Tag 7 warst du restocken und sagst du kommst grade irgendwoher, wo warst du da und bist du mit dem Zug dorthin? Ich mache mir etwas Sorgen wegen der Verpflegung, weil ich keine 20-30€ jeden Tag fürs Abendessen ausgeben möchte :)
Hey Lör, schön dass es dir gefallen hat! Der Ort heist Corte und ist gut von Vizzavona (quasi die Mitte der Wanderung) mit dem Zug zu erreichen. Auch nicht allzu teuer, wenn ich mich recht erinnere :D Ganz viel Spaß dir bei deinem Trip! :)
Mir fiel eben ein, dass in Vizzavona selbst auch ein kleiner shop mit allem essenziellen ist. Vllt reicht dir der schon, dann musst du nicht nach Corte. Ich brauchte nur Medis und ne neue SD Karte :D

Hey Hans, nice to hear that you liked it :) And also nice to hear that you will be doing the track as well! Staying lightweight is definitely a good thing on this trail haha. Unfortunately I don't know of any other place to restock food.. hope you can find something :) And all the best for your trip!
One thing that might be good know is that it is bad etiquette to walk in ski tracks with boots or snow shoes.
We actually talked to some people about it :D but never found someone who really cared. The snow was pretty hard too tho. So maybe a bigger problem in other snowconditions. Usually in that area all the tracks are blown over by wind and there are no traces left behind anyways. But thanks for the reminder :) All the best
