Hated these comedic episodes, not why I got into x files, just makes it look wank.... the greatest of all Sci fi series from 1 to 9, the return seasons didn't do anything for me :(
This has been killing me, who voices the alien in this episode? It sounds a lot like Jim Cummings but he's not credited (the alien actor was played by Keith Arbuthnot but the alien talks telepathically so it may not be his voice?) Edit: according to IMDB it was Fred Tatasciore if anyone else was curious

Maybe they already have looked at us. But I doubt they would really be inclined to "hem us in." They probably think we would end ourselves long before we develop our own FTL capability. But if on the off chance we do develop FTL? They might reconsider us now as a threat. They probably took a lot longer to develop their technology and to see a "young" race achieve so much in so little time? Like now? Before 1947, we were on a steady, if unremarkable pace of development. But after Roswell? Technology exploded. Now look where we are? TV's were rare in 1947, now they are common and cheap (sadly). Computers have enjoyed a surge of development and both a global data and wireless phone network has been achieved. Space travel, and even nuclear technology is rapidly advancing (fusion). Even some elements of FTL travel are being explored as well as Artificial Intelligence, or AI. So to say we are becoming an advanced race so quickly? I would agree with the alien.

Horrible. This was what prevented the X files from taking off a 2nd time. It could not take itself serious as fanservice and homage to the 90s Monster-of-the-week type shows. I hate the reboot and I hope it burns in hell.
The alien said every where in the universe is the same plus as earth and yet there treating humans and stoping humans as he said sounds stupid to me thank got it’s not real.
