App name please
@@thelostboytanmoy it’s just called DJI Ronin on the App Store, I’m guessing it will be dependent on which country you live in, if it’s not on your App Store search for it on DJI’s website
Great job , Ian. I learned a lot from you
This helped me out Tons. Many thanks!! 🙇🏾♂️
If your camera is set on Image lut, will your camera record on Lut or Flat ?
@@IMPACT_CONCEPTTV1 if your recording in RED RAW then yes, you’ll always be recording in a flat log profile when you shoot in RED’s Raw codec, the LUt is only an overlay in that situation
Hey, it is a great tutorial. Thanks for posting! Do you know if it is possible to connect the slider to the Sony cameras so it begins recording when we press the slider "start" button? It would be nice to have a repeated movement with different exposure settings. Thank you
Very in debt!
Terrific, and I do mean terrific explanation of proper exposure values in CLOG and WideDR in a perfectly understandable way with excellent visuals. Thank you very, very much for this!
Great video. So I have a question, I have the KX and using the small HD Indi 7 with camera control cable. I have a Lut loaded into the monitor and viewing it that way. Am I still getting the proper false color reading that way for the log footage? Am I still able to expose with the traffic lights that way? Hope that made sense, new user here. Thanks!

Best Tutorial on the #REDKOMODO.. Thank you #IanThurstan ! ! !
Interesting and very well explained! Experienced commercial photographer here, contemplating to pick up a second hand C70. I’m using R5 but need a better tool for video. Could someone advise me what to check for when buying a second hand C70? (R5C is another alternative… but I don’t know how well the preamps on that one.)
@@martinekwall4671 C70 is a pretty robust camera, not many issues in regard to functionality and image quality. The main thing to look out for is the hinge, it’s a pretty poor design and we’ve had to send a number of units into Canon to get it fixed
I've never understand how ISO works on RED, until I saw this video. Big props to you Ian!
thanks so much for this video! Iv had trouble figuring out the tilt disable whic youve made very clear and helped me and learning new functions like sport mode and configuring the app!

Thank you so much!
I have one question - I can record and play back audio from an external mic in Channels one and two with the built-in camera speaker and headphones, but I can't seem to play the internal mic recordings in the same. The scratch audio camera mic is in the file when I put in on a editing timeline, but I can't play it back in camera. - what setting is off that I can't do this?
Great tips but I disagree with shutter angle vs. Shutter Speed - coming from still photography to video it's much easier for me to relate to shutter speed than angle
Thank you so much! This saved me loads of time, as i was trying to grade the log file from the ground up, with which i really struggled.
Great information, excellent video 💯. tysm
Boy, you made a TERRIFIC job with these C70 detailed settings info!!! Thank you soooooo much!!!
Thank you
Outstanding video! Thank you!
Another excellent video. Thanks for all the info🙏
Thank you so luv for taking the time and making a so detailed video 🙏
What output color space should we grading on MacBook Pro screen users use? Please
Ok good. By saving the settings onto an SD card from C70 #1 and loading them to C70 #2; will all the camera’s setting match or just the color profile?
Ian, question: I added an external monitor and with the cable plugged in the camera pulls the camera off balance a bit; it is it necessary to re-balance with the cable connected? thx
Yeah I’ve always had to rebalance if I add a cable, normally it’s the roll axis which needs adjusting and sometimes the tilt, if you get one of those thin flat strip cables it makes it much easier than a traditional heavy cable ☺️
@@ianthurstan Great advise. THX!
Hello there, quick question for you in this section you’re referring to saving camera settings on an SD card, and then reloading them. Here’s my question: I am renting a second canon C7 camera for a shoot. Can I save the settings on an SD card from camera, one my personal camera. And upload them or reload them to the rented cameraand get the same settings?
15:34 in my message above I am referring to this section
@@dawanbrown6615 hiya mate, yeah you should not have an issue taking the camera settings from a rented camera and then uploading the same settings into your own personal camera, as long as the cameras are the same brand and make, I.e as long as they are both C70 cameras ☺️
I just found your channel/this video and all I can say is that your content is criminally underrated. The production quality is very good and the way you educate is very good! I did not expect to be hearing about broad vs short lighting, practical lighting, and a real world use-case example for light modifiers like gels in this one video.
Thanks mate, glad it’s been helpful, I try and make each video as informed as possible since I only release a video every 2-4months lol, you should deffo check out the noir lighting, product videography and lighting techniques videos if you’re into lighting ☺️👍
The only video you need, to understand CST transform, BEST ONE 🔥
Excellent in depth tutorial Ian, great efforts you put in to explain things in detail for gimbal operation. I am having a very peculiar problem with Dji gimbals & seek your help if you can. I shoot real estate videos where vertical/horizontal alignment is basic need, theoretically gimbals can do this alignment perfectly by locking all axis however Dji gimbals I have tested in lock mode the pan motor changes the yaw while I move left to right in spite all 3 axis locked. I tested with Ronin RS3, Ronin RS3 mini & Ronin SC gimbals, they all show this drifting problem. Is there a setting to ensure that the pan doesn't drift as seen in the video? MY gimbal test shows excellent balance by Ronin app yet this problem happens. Here is the link to video showing the problem th-cam.com/video/g-AVecxxe44/w-d-xo.html
