You have to put the suit on. I had a bee chase me 1,000 feet yesterday. She finally gave up. But, the last thing I did was move a hive 2'. Didn't think I'd get stung. But, I was wrong. Yes, I had taken the suit off. Just figured they wouldn't bother me. Yup, I was wrong.

What are the traits of AMM British Bees? Are they native to Britain? I had to requeen a lot of hives this year after winter losses. How will you over winter the nucs?

There is a small button device that you can hide in colonies so that you can detect them. I have one every so often in the yards.

Mr. Staunton, I really liked your video! I was fifty years into beekeeping before I had my first hive stolen. I am glad you got your bees back. When I first opened your video I had some trouble with how a single thief would be able to lift a 500 pound hive. ioi

This spring I removed a hive of bees from a wildlife feeder. As it was a cutout the old man that's teaching me said to leave my box for a few days under the wildlife feeder to let the bees repair the comb. He also said I needed a new queen so I bought a queen and installed the queen cage with the candy plug in the hive after killing the old queen. It was 3 more days before I went to pick up those bees and take them to my yard. When I started transferring them to their permant box I noticed that the queen cage had been plugged with a cotton swab by someone. I believe if I wouldn't have picked up those bees someone would have stolen them.

Never have I ever had a hive stolen. What is wrong with people!? Glad to know you got the one back. Set up a game camera, catch those thieves. 🐝✌️💜🌼🍯

When many prison have a program of beekeeping. It's not a surprise that they get stolen.

Apple air tag. Simple. Stick one or two in your hives and you’ll know where they are.

This has always been a concern of mine as I expand my apiary to other yards. Some people have no respect for others hard work. I'm going to get working on making a brand to stamp my boxes that leave my main yard over the winter here. Happy keeping to you and yours from the other side of the pond.

I suggest your heather site is too high up, 1300ft in Black Mountain Honey video. I prefer to site my hives at 700 ft max and let the bees fly uphill empty, then fly downhill full of nectar. Greetings from Conwy.

That is awesome and is actually two swarms, Look where the hole is towards the bottom of the small swarm. Thats queen number one. Then the bigger swarm the second leaf up towards the hole queen number 2 they might even be a 3rd on in that big one. If you can get this on a big screen its pretty awesome. I had a warm this morning and 4 Queens again. But only had 3 spare hives so they probably killed the 4th one. So annoying when you cannot do anything about it. Swarms will also draw in other bees from other colonies and you get combined swarms that trigger each other off. My biggest ever swarm was in 2018 but I think the one I had this year may of topped that one as it covered a poly tunnel arch even after filling a 12 frame box. I will probably upload it at some point to show how many queens you can get in one swarm. You have to be quick finding them before they choose the one they want of they all get balled up and killed.

Never feed a swarm - they're full of honey and you want them to use it all up making comb just in case it's got something nasty in it. Also, swarms don't adhere to the 3 mile thing for some reason - put them where you want, but you're right to quarantine.

To me it looks like your hive got too damp. With the plastic packaging as insulation the hive can't ventilate properly. Try using a natural material next winter, I use an eke with linen fixed to the bottom and filled with sawdust. No losses for me this winter.
