Hi Ruben. The case of this one is that the engine is quite efficient such that it's having complete combustion. The result of this is carbon dioxide and water through the exhaust system
I'm some cases though , it might be a sign of a blown head gasket in which case there will also be lose/depreciation of coolant in the radiator/ header tank

Hi. Yes you have to fill it until it comes out through the overflow pipe. You then have to use a scan tool to reset additive level

@BW-xr1mv hi. Filling completely is a sure way that it's not half full, which is economical since you won't have to go to the garage again when that half finishes. You would rather fill your shopping basket once than make several trips to the shop to pick 1 item at a time
@@uncleTee It last 70,000 miles a liter would last possible to the end of the cars life. It won't reset at the garage, I was wondering why it might if it filled completely ? I don't want to spend another £50 on fluid if there is another problem
@BW-xr1mv ok I get you. There must be another problem if you have put a litre and it's not resetting. Next step is to read (scanner data or request level) the level in the tank. It should at least read half level. From there you can fault the wiring or the little additive tank itself. It has its own pump and gauge

Hi Hugo. A metal filler is a screw on. There's no place or way it can screw on unless there is a total oil filter housing modification/design. The cost I presume would be the same value as the car.

good morning sir,my hiace is the same with having white smoke with water in the combustion chamber when accelereting,hard to start and the coolant loss,what possible reason with this?
Hi Nestor. This may be a blown head gasket because water isn't expected in the combustion chamber! Have a compression test. If it's a petrol car have a look at the spark plugs, the dirt or condition of each one can tell a story. Coolant loss can also be a sign. Milky coolant , dipstick and oil cap. For oil cap/dipstick, it can be a bit milky for a car that does little mileage per day..also consult the local garage.

Hi. Try changing the bonnet catch. It has a sensor with a micro switch on it. You can usually pick one from the scrap yard for about £15 or from ebay.

Hi Yasar. If it's not going low in the radiator or header tank then your cooling system is fine and your engine is very efficient. It means it's having "complete combustion" .

If you have no brake lights. check the relay under the handbrake cowlings . The relay is known to shake loose . Hope this helps someone.

Hi. Nope. It's actually a good motor. Blown head gasket will show similar exhaust water 💦 but that will be confirmed if you are having coolant loss from the header tank/expansion tank or radiator, loss of cabon heating and engine overheating and possible misfire and milky coolant.
Conditions in the exhaust system its normal for a vehicle. You probably dont drive the vehicle alot

It is a product of complete combustion. Warm air passing through a cold exhaust ends up being water. A product of fuel completely burning is carbon dioxide and water. The other time this happens is when your cylinder head gasket is gone
@@uncleTee so how do you know if the head gasket is done just by the smoke? my car does this wispy smoke like more than an hour in idle after it is parked for a day but no overheating, no bubbling in the radiator and no contamination in the oil dipstick. no misfiring either.
@@automachinehead hi Paul. You can't really know by just looking at the smoke. Further tests like compression, checks for coolant loss and exhaust gas sniffer in coolant and even glogged air filter can cause smokey behaviour

@@ArczAngel hi Arcz.. quite normal. It's just like the warm air coming from your mouth on a cold day. You can actually see the concentrated vapour. As kids u would blow it on the window and draw a smiley and then as it warms up streaks of water start coming down the window. Vapour can be seen more on a cold day than on a hot day.

@@uncleTeeDoes this additive have anything to do with the DPF or does the DPF have a special fluid? It gave me a message that the additive level is at a low level and now I don't know if I should top it up because the DPF has been removed. Volvo S80 1.6 d 80kW 2010. Thank you

Gary Wallace hi, yes the housing 27mm is slotted so that it has a tight fit when e socket is pressed on and holds onto the socket when you pull it up

Hi, much respect to you for helping out. one question though. can i use EOLYS 176 in stead of volvo FLUID and shall i wait for the tank to be fully empty and then top it up or can i still top it up as my car has done roughly 80000 miles already. if the tank is empty does it show any message on display. can i just mix up EOLYS 176 into the liquid already there in the tank which is from volvo earlier. your answers are much appreciated.
hi. you can use aftermarket additive. its about £40 a litre. the tricky bit is finding the feed hoses although u can easily make a set from old containers and a fuel hose which you can get from most local parts suppliers or halfords. you don't have to wait for it to be empty but you have to reset the additive level using a scanner everytime you fill it up.

When i try to refill on my girlfriends car, the fluid wont go in to the tank, its just returns in the hose back to the bottle. Tried switching between all the connections, and holding the bottle above the tank (higher than the wheel) Why is this happening? i have warning light that says its low level in the ADM tank.

hi. you would need to plug it on diagnostics first and rectify underlying engine codes. an engine not going over certain revs has numerous reasons of which that is one. a faulty turbo, a faulty turbo control valve or switch ( electric or vacuum control), vacuum pipes, split intake pipes, a blocked exhaust (dpf, cat or silencer), boost pressure sensor, egr, ..........

+kosar mustafa yep. either remove the dpf and reprog ecu to match or replace dpf otherwise try a regeneration

Oh Yeh. Try changing dpf pressure sensor. I suggest genuine Volvo part for sensors. These cars r sensitive and spit out any different taste

hi Evo, common ones are the fuel filter which restrict fuel flow usually if not original landrover part. this cause low fuel pump lubrication causing it to fail or deliver low fuel for maximum power. Other problem is the suspension shock boots that split and let out pressure. suspension warning light activate and functionality thereof is humpered -- lowering or raising .
other question : an alternator that charges only 13. 22 volts, is that it is sufficient for good combustion engine??

Kids, Kids, Kids why in the "L" would anybody want to own a Volvo? My kid got an 2004 S-40 the other day it started to cut-out and die along the road, Can a volvo with an empty container of fuel additive cause the car to do this? or should I keep looking on how to replace a fuel filter? BY the way an excellent video keep making them covering the S-40-- like how to replace the wiring for the headlamp because the wires are cracking from over heat and age or cheap wires. that would be helpful enjoy your day and be safe.
