Hah, it's early in the war, when IJN didn't do convoys 😁. But it will be a bit harder - I used the mod to have aggressive AI with a bonus to sensors so we'll see.. Even the small sub hunters are chasing, so I do have to be careful there.

I want to see whether we'll get that supplies bonus event shortly, because w/o that it will become a real slog - I'd probably go for killing Fuso, taking over Rangoon, and then just declare victory. We'll see..

CL - 2xKatori, 1xYubari, 2xTenryu, 2x, Nagara, Kuma and Sendai eliminated CA - 2xFurutaka, 1xAoba, 3xMyoko, 3xTakao, 1xTone, Mogami eliminated. BB - 1x Fuso CVL - 1xHosho, 1xTaiyo CV - Zuikaku So still a decent surface fleet, I didn't see many CA/CLs during the play. Once CV(L)s are eliminated, I'll release Indomitable, she did her job and more.

I really didn't wan to hurt that Fuso, that's destined for a surface duel.. We'll see whether it'll cost me a base levels or not...

Thanks - yep, it's always good to get Albacores to action, although they will shortly run out of opponents. Once there's no carrier around, I'll release it. And get more BBs!

I played for Axis exactly once in my life, when the Japan campaign came out for WotS - and that was because I owed the guys for getting early access to it. I don't plan to do it (play for Axis) again, even if it means missing out on some technically excellent games (like I'm told Uboat is).

I'm not deleting the save :). TBH, a lot of the issues I'm facing showed up in 1.6, I can't remember them in 1.5 (especially the one with random changes in course/leader during the battle). Also, with SH4 I usually do a patrol, and then, from the recording, do a cinematic/story video of the patrol. Which takes a lot more time, so I still may do UAD - although I suspect I'll be doing Sea Power when it comes out and then see the response..

Yep, surface action is where WotS shines!

TBH, it's a hard call. I love UAD damage model, and the battles can be more challenging (and realistic IMO) that WotS at times. At the same time, UI is bad, and some things are just appaling. To name three that were getting my goat most recently: - why can't I set up what formation I want to have for my fleet??? A randomly generated formation is not what an admiral has to deal with when they enter the battles.. - related - why the hell do my ships start on the top of each other, or the last one has its top speed while others the cruising speed? - why do the formations decide to randomly change the leader and direction in a middle of a fight???? The last one was what really got me in the end. When your DDs just randomly start changing directions while ramming into the other formation... I felt like screaming (well, didn't feel, I did scream and swear and had to edit it all out 😁)

Valiant here is a sort of a weird mix. She has the upgraded secondaries (20x4.5" vs Warspite's 8x6"), but lower speed than Warspite. FC is not separately modelled, so overall, I'd say Valiant is actually slightly worse than Warspite (I'd prefer the extra few kts of speed, and 4.5" won't do much to a BB/CA). But it's actually Fuso that's weirder, for example, she has a belt of 16" (way more than even KG V with 14.7") and 6"(!!!) deck - numbers I can't find justified anywhere..

Yes, the moon is always there. But the lighting tends to differ a bit, and for me, this was pitch black. Usually, for night scenes, I do 2.5xgain so that you guys can see something, but for this I had to go higher yet. It was a fun episode, and I'm glad I let that Fuso go only for it to meet Warspite (they are contemporaries, both WW1 upgraded battle wagons).

Yep - but TBH, it was the first time that I had to dodge torpedoes in a looong time. So at least their fired some, unlike their larger sisters.

They were still better than my CAs (which is something to say)... That said, taking away parts of their navy made the vulnerable, and some other states used that. Now I wish I didn't do it, as France is getting steamrolled - and not by me.

Thanks for the sentiment, but TBH, UAD in general get way fewer views (and time) than WotS. The Japan E3 got > 100 views, which is rare for UAD, while WotS gets much more, with total watch time multiples of UAD. Which also means that if the current AH video continues as it does, Japan will win the race, although I have one more AH3 recorded already, so that would go out regardless. I guess the next two episodes (one Japan, one AH) will be decisive 😁

It was fun.. Yes, the AI is where this game really struggles, unfortunately. I know the ABDA guys improved the air AI (which was horrible), so hope springs eternal..

Seal clubbing - I forgot that one! I'd get it for a title next time.. But TBH, I'm not sure how much people want to see seal clubbing, it gets monotonous after a while (which is why I used the DDs, at least some fun) - I'd rather get a proper BB engagement, but I haven't seen the two remaining BBs IJN has yet at all - not even a CA.

yeah, but the stats (so far) are 50/50 too... I guess what I could try is to do both, and will see how I'll do for time. That said, WotS will take precedence, and I really really should finish at least the first patrol in SH4 med career (that's been waiting for months now).
