Hey fellow fishing addicts! My name is Matt and welcome to MGS Fishing. I have been fishing fresh and saltwater my whole life. My passion for being out in nature, on the water, catching fish, and teaching others has lead me to create this channel. I hope you have a blast watching and most importantly, use the info to get out there and get on em!

Fishing Tip: Fish While Fishing!
มุมมอง 614 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
The more time you have the right bait in the water, there better chances you have of catching a fish. Often times there are game fish where your bait fish are so fish while catching bait!

Ok, I want to eat there!
Underrated channel
@@DripVR21 Thank you so much for saying that. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong with the algorithm and maybe I'm just partial but I agree with you LOL. Thanks for being a subscriber and please let any other fisherman you know about the channel
Spinning with a mepp and ragworm is a great way to catch mullet
I was told that mullet fish are full of small bones, may I know how you made them for your sandwiches.
@@jtarryohpengyew8173 You can fill a them like any other fish or when you split them open and smoke them you can then eat the meat off with your fingers but I wouldn't say the bones are a problem
Do you think using white bread as bait would work as well as the fatback?
@@walden6272 Anything white will work once you have them chummed up and although white bread may be something they want I'm sure it would be difficult to keep on the hook. Look up a TH-cam video of mullet feeding and you will see how quickly of a mouth movement they make and so they can be notoriously hard to hook
@@mgsfishing Yea, they are hard to hook. I was out fishing and saw them jumping out the water and was trying to catch them but they wouldn't take so that's why I am researching how to catch them. Well, thanks for the tips. I'll give your method a try.
I try bread but never hook them . There’s massive mullet here upto 58cm . Friend of my just using 3 hooks and yanking them when they group up .
I just started watching your channel! And I love the stuff you show! I just moved to citrus springs Florida and caught my first ever snook! If you wouldn’t mind I’d like to get in contact with ya and get some more tips for fishing salt AND freshwater down here!
Absolutely. Email me at mgscottfishing@gmail.com
That looks like the Sanford side of lake Monroe
Do you have trouble with hooking turtles? There’s so many turtles in our river that it seems like they’d Beattie mullet to it.
Great question I think where I'm fishing happens to have such a strong tidal flow that turtles really aren't a problem
It's a skeg not skag sorry that killed my ears.
Me too. Now for a cheap pole?
That should be plenty of trolling motor for your boat I’ve had that same trolling motor on a 21 frontier and it was plenty. Maybe your batteries aren’t so good 🤷♂️.
Adorable 🥰
The dog is probably thinking let me sleep 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
They dident tell me i could get a bigger engine. Are you sure?
You can always choose whatever size engine you want. But the package will come with a suggestion. You can just by the boat and have engine installed elsewhere
02:52 did the ground slip you a $20 after?
Cheap date
Doesn't look too bad for a sca.
I have a couple women in my family who catch them off the bank in the Suwannee river with cane poles and some chum. Good work!
If you're going to own one, you should know how to properly pronounce the name....
Nah
How have the Amazon rod holders held up so far?
Still going strong.
Great video. I have heard that you should tape up the surface of wherever you are going to drill so that the gelcoat doesn't chip. Not sure how much it matters. Also, what about backing plates? I don't have backing plates on my rod holders, but I think I should add them at some point.
Shouldn't leave such a tempting target. 😂😂😂😂😂
Whooz lil killa..lolz..
Ya who's running the house?
❤❤❤😂👍🏽
Oh how absolutely vicious, you’re lucky to be alive!
Hands off. Access denied.
Just watched mullet video it reminds me of carp fishing chum and all
Use a 10ft, 1in mesh, 1lb/ft cast net to catch mullets quickly. One throw and your cooler will be full, 50 limit in Florida. Then you will have time to go target other species.
Great video as always, Matt. Ing memories for a lifetime. National Geographic moment.
Experience but still make mistakes, ummmmm
The sound effects on Al's break off had me rolling 😂
Matt looking to come down and do a little fishing and was wondering about your set up for mullet ? What size reel and rod you recommend? (H20 express)
My set up to catch mullet or to fish with cut mullet for reds?
Thanks Matt! Great info, we too struggle trying to fish in the wind. Gives us another option!
istg right handed ppl get my ocd but like im able to use both hands but right hands get me ocd
Love the set up! Do you by chance know the bolt hole spacing through the transom? Cant find any dimensions online and my transon akresd has a jack plate, just looking to upgrade to this one haha
Hey I don't know but call the number on the on the fly website. The owner is very responsive and great to talk to. Super helpful. I will tell you to attatch it to the transom as high as you can, mount the motor as high as you can and use short shaft motor. It will help you run skinny
Nice Catch!!!
Whats the spec on the stock propeller?
8.5 pitch prop. not sure the specs but it came with the motor. I am waiting on a machined cupped prop to come in to see if it helps with cavitation when my jack plate is high up
What kind of gas do you put in yours 87?
@@NastyNate-fn6od i use the non ethanol boat gas
7 pitch is the stock propeller and pushes my 16' lund boat no problem at 17 mph
Hi! Glad I found your channel! We're looking at purchasing a 2024 model. Had a few questions if you don't mind. Trailer is listed as 23'8". Do you know if that's with the tongue folded or extended? How were you able to add that MK Terrova? The only option I see in bass pro and Make is for a hand controlled MK. Also the Garmin. How were you able to include that in your package? I don't see an option for it. Thanks for a thorough video! You still enjoying the boat? Any issues so far?
thanks for subscribing! 23'8" is the overall tongue to propeller length (tongue extended). so in other words, the on the truck length. all options I got, I was able to get by talking to the salesman at Bass Pro. Are there better boats out there? for sure, but I still contend, not for the price of the Mako. It is plenty good to me for the price.
torque rotation
Great video, Matt. But I have to tell you, G makes a better boat decoration than you do.
Great vlog, very informative. I was searching for easy way to catch mullet for bait and ran cross your vlog. Good stuff. Thanks for posting...!! Peace...
Is this the winter low tide spot?
actually it is not
I appreciate the local breakfast plug 😁
its worth stopping for sure!
Great video! Thank you! How long is the shaft on this trolling motor?
56 inches
Very helpful video! What is the length on your trolling motor?
Why no poling platform if you fish shallow?
Not really a polling skiff and I dont really pole much.
Regarding your 9.9 just so your aware soon as you get into a 9.9 it’s a inline 2 cylinder. 15 and 20 are the same motors just get a 9.9 sticker if your worried.
Thanks for the video. I've never seen it done like this. Excited to try it . I couldn't help noticing the litter. Please share the location, I will GLADLY pickup and PROPERLY dispose of the garage. I actually enjoy it. Keeping garbage out of our rivers, lakes, creeks, bays and bayous is my passion.
