The song: Nikopol. Viral's Japanese name is Biraru and his Ganmen is Enkidu(du). The creators made is super clear that they took inspiration from Serbian-born French graphic novelist and amazing painter Enki Bilal and his Nikopol trilogy. Also, in Bilal's other works "32 Decembre" one character has his head chopped and preserved in a liquid filled glass jar, still living, Futurama style. This also happens at one point in Gurren Lagann.
