Yeah I was thinking of buying my 1st forklift but after seeing this 😅 sheesh! Most that I've seen have brake issues
Not all forklift brakes are wet brakes a lot of them are regular drum brakes
@@jupdagstv is there anyway to know the difference with just looking at them? I been looking into hyster or Clark or toyota forklifts Thank you 👍
@@nibbzs15 the simple way to check if your not familiar with it is check the fluid that they use, if it’s ATF or red color that’s wet brakes but if it’s regular brake fluid like dot 3 that’s regular drum brakes or check the manual
Guys take the mast off and lay it on the ground not sure which way is better
Taken off the mast is much more work in my opinion

What do you mean lock the engine? You don’t need to lock.

Nice job... just some tips.. Spray down the piston and cap with brake cleaner before assembly and blow with air to remove any grit that may be present. Also lots of grease is good at assembly. After screwing down the gland cap, rotate the rod several revs to seat the o-rings and seals/remove ripples in the o-rings.
Am i able to change out the head gasket without removing everything from the front of the engine? Also, do i need to remove exhaust manifold or were they removed for other reasons?
Another question... do I need to replace the top specialty bolts for the head or can I reuse them? Can only find in EU for $103.45 a piece!!!

What about the fluid that leaked out of the hub at the beginning? Does that come from the hydraulic fluid reservoir? Thanks!

@@alexm8922 it's ok we just let the world know lol. Brake job went well. Ended up changing tranny fluid and diff. Not as difficult I thought it would be 👍🏼
@Jay-xe3cq that's not why I'm asking. I'm trying to learn all the steps needed to replace the brake shoes. If replacing the lost fluid is not covered, then this job tutorial is incomplete.
@@alexm8922 no biggie, raise the forks, support with a 2x4. Just crack the fill bolt on the front of the diff and fill untill fluid comes out. Let the excess flow out and screw the plug back in. Just like a cars manual transmission, gearboxes etc.. with that tutorial complete.

You need to order from the dealer or just bring the old oil seal and compare from your local hydraulic shop store
One would think a professional repair shop would have the proper spanner wrenches for repairing hydraulic rams rather than a pipe wrench
It does, but most of the time it doesn’t work
@@jupdagstv In hindsight, I don't know what I was thinking when I made that comment, I meant no disrespect. Here I am trying to research how to rebuild a forklift hydraulic ram, with never doing one myself and I question your methods. I am not kidding when I say, I apologize.

So my co worker.adjusted the brakes so tight we can't get the drum off any solution. has the Lil slot in the back of the drum to adjust Lil gear u can adjust up but not down any help.woulp be appreciated
You need to push the lock on that lil gear while spinning down
